I guess this will reunite him with his buddy Boss Tagaloa and Jedd Fisch. All the best to him.
Oh, and fuck UCLA
Would I be a dick head for not giving any shits about what he does going forward?
Brother Hezekiah.
I know Harbaugh confirmed it a couple weeks ago but did he even release one of those long ass twitter goodbyes claiming how much he really loves UM and is really sad to leave?
I think it was assumed it was family related or homesickness if I'm not totally out of the loop, correct?
Where did pkatz say anything about not giving a shit about Devin? He disparaged Mora and then the university.
It was M or UCLA when it came down to it.
Whoever his long-term coach is, I wish him the best of luck. I love Ann Arbor, but Westwood ain't too shabby.
Bossiasi is back at it. Good luck to him.
No surprise...can't blame him for being homesick and wanting to play with his "brother." Plus Fisch is there so he'll be comfortable with the offense*.
*While he sits out because there's no guarantee that staff will be there after this season.
with what should become second best qb in the conference. Other than UM, the school that makes most sense for him.
Good luck young Man and I'm sure we'll be watching you on Sundays soon.
Best of luck to him, he is a great player and I am thankful for his contributions.
While they aren't very similar players, I hope a guy like Zach Gentry can step up and contribute.
It will be awesome to see Wheatley continue to develop and Bunting to get more playing time and have them both showcase their skills.
Devin was/is unique. Still bummed, but what are you gonna do.
My guess is that Asiasi wanted to go home long before Jedd was offered any position at UCLA.
Yeah, I don't get the sense that Jed poached the kid in any real meaningful way. He was likely headed to UCLA and maybe the Jed thing made it that much easier.
There's that, and I thought the primary driver for this was family for him, and if that's the case then I think that goes in the bucket of "totally understandable". Of course, being familiar with Fisch may help a little, but it doesn't sound like that has much to do with it. Good luck to him at UCLA.
Campus and you can't beat the weather. Plus family. Understandable decision. Thought the Harbaugh pull would be strong enough. I guess it was strong enough to get him to come to Ann Arbor for a year. Always more than one factor involved. Tough loss as he will likely be a pretty great TE. But we'll manage as always. Under Harbaugh, we will always have a good/great group of TEs.
Good luck to him.

That right there speaks volumes. So many recruits talk about "family atmospheres" these days. A parent saying what Dave said shows that our staff walks the walk. It really speaks to Mama Gwen as well.
I think it also helps with parents to see that a coach won't screw them over if their child has a change of heart. Like, say, Brian Kelly
Dave and Devin Asiasi = Michigan
Chris and Connor Cook = Michigan State
Nice to know Mr. Asiasi feels this way about Michigan and Coach Harbaugh at a lot of levels. Wish the Asiasi famiy nothing but the best. Like many of us here, personally think Devin has huge upside and could be a big star in the NFL someday. Hope he achieves what he wants to achieve.
They're taking all of tight ends. I do hope that his career has a better trajectory than Chris Clarks. Devin seemed like a good guy from all accounts. Hopefully TJ Wheatly makes up for both of those losses.
Fisch better have used up his quota on poaching, just kidding but not really.
Devin will sit out a year, play great as a RS Soph and then go pro I bet.
physically developed Devin already is, can see him ending up in the NFL in a couple years.
Wish him and his family the best. Still glad he went to Michigan though sorry like others to see him go. He has great upside, but we have a lot of talent at that position.
Good to have an SD brother like you on here!!!
We gotta meet someday and watch our beloved Wolverines next season.
If you're a Tigers fan, they play at Petco in late June this year, just a thought.
same difference.
They probably have a Petco somewhere in South Dakota they could meet at also, maybe get a kitten together.
