PFF Mock Draft: 3 Wolverines Drafted in Rd 1
Pro Football Focus has Jourdan Lewis, Taco Charlton, and Jabrill Peppers all being drafted in round one.
Pick #27 to the Chiefs - Jourdan Lewis
Pick #28 to the Cowboys - Taco Charlton
Pick #32 to the Patriots - Jabrill Peppers
Most of the mock drafts that I've seen had Lewis going in the 2nd or 3rd round due to his size. If he lasts till the 3rd, that team is getting a bargain with his press coverage skills.

Fam, punctuation is a thing.

What does "old fam" or just "fam" mean?
February 21st, 2017 at 6:44 PM ^
It's short for family.

From recent articles I think M gets one in the first round, and I think that is Taco.
The NFL is very slow to change from an idea stand point. Meaning Lewis is to small and Pep doesn't have a natural position.
Only a few coaches in the entire country (Both NFL and college) are imaginative enough to not pigeon hole players into predetrmined positons... We have one of those coaches on our sideline now!
Taco to the Lions.
Pep, Lewis and Wormley in the 2nd.
Jake Butt a steal in the 4th (injury).

Peppers absolutely will not get out of the first round. Even if 31 teams pass on him, as long as the Pats have the 32nd pick he is going to NE. He does have a natural position, which is strong safety. For the Pats he would replace Pat Chung.
I still think he will go higher than this. I don't think the Seahawks pass on him, but if he has a great combine I think the Ravens would like to take him as well. John knows how great of a team asset Jabrill is.
I think the O/U for Wolverines in round 1 is 2.5. Taco is a guarantee and, to me, so is Jabrill. Then it probably depends on how many CBs go early for JD to sneak into the first round to a team like KC or the Pats, or if the Redskins like Wormley as much as they were showing a couple weeks ago and multiple DTs go before their pick at 17.

I want this to be true. I am not sure it will be, however, as Peppers does not have an extensive tape as a safety. Teams will draft based on potential if they like what they see and have little risk however that will have to be teams in the latter third of the first round.
Personally, I would look at him if I was GM for an NFC East team that has to play the Cowboys (Zeke, that OL) twice a year and an NFC South team that plays the Panthers. Hell, he may even be an asset to somebody like the Rams, but they have many other holes.

If Peppers is not taken in round 1 (and like you I dont see how he wont be) the Browns should have somebody waiting for the place to open up on Friday so they can turn their card in and get him at #33.
That being said it wouldnt surprise me to see somebody willing to deal a future #1 to get that pick. Having all night to think about who's still available might tempt one of the good teams to trade a future #1 for a the first pick in the second round.
And I'll eat TWO Lemons, without Tequila, if Lewis goes in round one.

but I would like to see you eat two lemons. (Round 1 for JD)

I'd also add that the Patriots had a lot of trouble with punt returning this year. Cyrus Jones failed pretty badly and they had to put Amendola and Edelman back there, which the Pats don't want. Jabrill could step right in there and make a huge impact.

I SO want Peppers to go to NE. All I hear is that teams are unsure where to play him. I am willing to bet the Belichick already knows where he will play him, and that will be all over the field.

I give my worthless peronal guarantee on it. But more seriously, there is just no way he falls out of the 1st, and that is not homer talking. I take the over the top praise of Harbaugh and Brown way more seriously than I do many scouts, and the teams that are interested in Peppers will be speaking quite a bit with Harbaugh. Zero chance he falls.

There are mumblings about Packers taking him too. As a Packer fan, I would prefer taking defensive players over a running back (I saw McCaffrey going there but Ty Montgomery should handle that and sign Lacy super cheap if possible, otherwise get a RB in 2nd-5th round). I think Peppers could play the role Woodson did when Packers won the SB and when Woodson won DPOY award (just not as good for first few years).

are the exception, not the norm. Even though Jourdan Lewis measurement at SR Bowl was a big win for him since he barely met the minimum threshold. There are NFL teams who abide by the measurement like height, weight, arm length, hand size, etc. They will disqualify players if they don't meet them all.
Jourdan Lewis won't get a look by Seattle Seahawks because they favor taller CBs with long arms for example.

Most mocks have only 2 Michigan players taken in the 1st round. Some only have one. We shall see.

This might be a good set of teams. Especially for Jabril - being able to return punts and kickoffs will get him immediate playing time. He's smart and the Patriots have always kept sharp players who can contribute.
February 21st, 2017 at 3:45 PM ^
My mock draft has 19 Michigan players going in the first round. They are taken with the first 19 picks. Every other team defers their first round pick to 2018, as there are no more Wolverines left to pick...

"Where'd all the Wolverines go!?"
In the first round Mark. Go sit down now.

i think Darboh might be a steal in the lower rounds, and could turn out to be a good-to-great NFL receiver

like complaining about mock drafts in a mock draft thread :) just something to shoot the shit about in the offseason

Here in Cleveland Mock Drafts are affectionately known as "Super Bowl Sunday". We live for the NFL draft cause after that it's all downhill baby.

Being picked ahead of Peppers. Later in the first round, if you don't get the best player at your position of need, you take the best athlete. Yes I'm biased, but man, how do you let a talent like Peppers pass you by. I think Taco will be an absolute stud in the NFL. Can't wait to see all our guys at the next level.
GO BLUE!!

And I doubt Taco lasts that late towards the end of the first round. But, what the hell do I know?

Not sure if it's a bad move but I'm sure he expected to go a lot sooner than the 32nd pick when he made the decision. Of course, we won't find out until the actual draft.
