Is M doing anything different in practice this week?
Wondering if anyone knows, especially with the possible change at QB, Michigan decided to spend more time on the field and less in the meeting rooms, similar to what they did in spring, for example.
Usually this late in the season, conventional coaching wisdom is to significantly shorten practice to keep players from feeling mentally and physically (especially their legs) worn out. As we all know however, Harbaugh is not always conventional, although I would expect NEXT week Harbaugh would want the players as fresh as possible.
But so many games the rest of the year Michigan's starters only needed 2 or 3 quarters, And against MSU and Iowa, Michigan did not seem to play as well in the 2nd half. For at least OSU and any post-season (and maybe Indiana too), they will need guys who can maintain focus and intensity for at least 4 quarters.
I could also imagine that O'Korn and Morris need to get a lot more reps at QB this week.

But... I know, I don't know what Michigan is doing differently in practice this week.

this is what you get when there are 10 year olds on the internet.
go easy, people.
some possible replies:
- they are practicing harder
- they are re-checking whether some of the plays really "work"
- other stuff like that

I bet he isn't even prepping for Indiana at this point. This is EXACTLY why he has redshirted 90% of the Freshman Class AND why he is looking at the NFL.
Have to have FRESH players for NEXT season.

This is the perfect place to ask.
In all serious, they're 9-1 and #3 in the CFB...why the fuck would they start doing something different?
Why not just do what you've been doing, only better? It's worked thus far.

against (mostly) sub par competition. I'm anxious to see how the offense responds after last weekends debacle. I've had the last 3 days off work and have been watching a shitload of prior games from this season out of sheer boredom. A few things to note - Wisconsin has a well coached defense (which we saw) and Indiana's defense has gotten much better as the season wore on (still not very good though), but OSU's defense is much faster and more talented than anything we've seen to this year to date. I skipped through several of their games and what really pops out (other than the Samuel kid on offense) is the overall speed on the defensive side of the ball. I hope our boys are getting their conditioning in because they're going to need it on the 26th. I'm anxious to see what O'Korn can do.

I never said Iowa was good. I said they were preseason top 25 and they're a bowl team. Meaning they're not terrible. They're not Rutgers or MSU.
We did screw the pooch, but no one was talking about that or saying we didn't.
Basically, people are just still upset and using this thread to get their hot takes out and overreact as if the first 9 games never happened.
I get it, the sky is falling.

top ten teams and say we've faced sub par competition. Even an idiot like finebaum has seen the light that the B1G has surpassed the SEC.
There's Alabama right now and everyone else. I think you need to chill a little.

Well I have actual information, at least a smidgen. I know that on Monday morning there was a practice described by a player as VERY HARD, with A LOT of running, and lots of pissed off HarbYelling (my silly word).... and then ANOTHER practice in the late afternoon or evening (I only know the player was going to be at practice at 630, but not when it started)! I didn't hear one way or the other about the later practice, but I bet it wasn't powder puff ball.
I've never heard of a 2 a day during the season before, but I guess I never really knew but just assumed that since I'd only ever heard of 2 a days being in camp I figured that was always as opposed to single practices during the school year. If they're practicing 4 or 5 days than it would be pretty easy to split practice time into 2 a days and still have each session be long enough to get stuff done and keep doing class on the grass. Next time I get a chance I'll find out if that was a special thing.

Wilton did practice with the first team this afternoon. He was in the red vest, no touching. But he can still throw.

I knew it. If I read through this whole thread I'd get one bit of what might be actual news.
If this were confirmed, would be outstanding. Can I ask the nature of the rumor, is it a message board thing

i think the consensus yesterday was that they needed to "get the linebackers better in a hurry," or some such. i'm sure the staff read that one verrrrry carefully.
