Is Michigan fighting left handed early in the season?
In quite a few UFRs so far we've seen a few things that seem to defy explanation. Why is Mike McCray over a slot receiver and not Peppers? Did all the OL biff the stretch constantly? Is our Dime package that bad?
With Harbaugh we've seen him make the smart decision more times than not - see the OSU UFR for proof. He knows what his team can and cant do, and he puts people in position to succeed. My tin-foil-hat question is: are they making bad decisions on purpose in games that they know they will win?
Maybe Don Brown wants to know if McCray can stay with a slot? He knows that Peppers may be the guy to do that in real games, but maybe Mike can too? Maybe they're putting things on tape on purpose to serve as tendancy breakers in the future?
Am I the only one thinking that maybe they're fighting left handed?

A Michigan fan is "looking for positivity" with a team that is 3-0 and has won comfortably in each of its games.
I know that the 1st quarter against Colorado was bad, but cumong man!

Well, yeah, except that Michigan outscored them 24-7 between the end of the first quarter and Luifau leaving the game. But whatever...

That ignores the fact that maybe he got injured because the defense was living in the offensive backfield.

defense, the receivers, and the special teams, Michigan could have been in deep trouble here.

Archer, your incept date says you've been around here for awhile, your Mgopoints indicate you've received some approval from your peers here, and yet...
You somehow don't seem to know the Mgoblogosphere or the Michigan fanbase at ALL!!!!

It's called "sandbagging." Most people call it "playing vanilla."
Not wearing the tinfoil hat, but I do think there is a bit of sandbagging going on and that Harbaugh doesn't want to reveal a lot of stuff until Oct 29 unless he really has to. Remember: Harbaugh is the ultimate competitor. As much as we hate the Sparty Fluke, Harbaugh hates and remembers it more than any of us. He remembers the OSU rivalry, too.
I hope we see a lot of new wrinkles in both of those games.

I was so much more numb after that than I was after App State. I have to think it runs thorugh his head at least once a day.

Vanilla is one thing - being simplistic, using base formation as much as possible, etc...
What OP is implying is that we are playing bad on purpose because he can't possibly fathom how we aren't winning every game by 70. It's absolutely delusional.

We executed so poorly under the last coaching regime that when the end of the season came we were awesome experienced veterans at executing poorly.

Effectively Hatter is suggesting that he's testing players to see if they can handle some atypical situations (e.g. McCray covering a slot). This would make those players more battle tested without risk of losing the game.
September 22nd, 2016 at 6:22 PM ^
The "intentionally block poorly" bit, yeah. But giving players weird assignments in full speed but comparatively low leverage environments to see if they can do it when it counts? Yeah, I can see him doing that.
September 22nd, 2016 at 5:21 PM ^
I said that in there.. but maybe he's challenging guys to do things they're not good at?
I'm pretty sure I'm reaching here

Only had one screw up. The gearing isn't switched around as I logically thought it would be, I was thinking first would be the closest to my left leg. Instead it was just the steering wheel on the other side and first/second/third were in the same place as any car. That to me was disappointing.
September 22nd, 2016 at 5:24 PM ^
I'm also a left-hander who logged on to state how offended I am. So is the OP asking if Michigan is fighting smarter and with far superior spacial organization?
September 22nd, 2016 at 5:34 PM ^
I worked in the clean room in the EECS building during grad school. As I was preparing some material in the wet chemical bay, I noticed that the other 4 people working at that time were all left-handed. I mentioned that to the senior student working next to me. She said that half of the EE grad students were left-handed. I'm sure she was exaggerating a little, but there is some truth to your statement.
