I think we're kidding ourselves if Michigan didn't have 7 couples who wouldn't do the same if we were in a similar pile of sh*t here. 14 people out of a few millions fans? Easy
Yeah, that was mostly because people thought Dave Brandon was ruining the football team. Totally different scenario.
He had some support from the olympic sports coaches and athletes, but the rest had a lot of doubts. I see a lot of the kids at M-PACT and they knew what he was really like.
Imagine something like that came out against Carr in 2006 or against Harbaugh now. Totally different game when they are loved on campus as Briles was and as JoePa was
Don't kid yourself....douche recognize douche.
Without the emails you were looking at a more protracted struggle to oust him.
And they have a lot fewer than a few million fans.
Just venture over to: http://www.baylorfans.com and read the appalling support for Ken Starr/Art Briles and how dismissive they are over the rape culture.
Warning: the layout on that website may cause you to have a seizure and/or puke in your mouth
Paterno Loyalists, Ken Starr Loyalists, "the government crashed the planes on 9/11", anti-vaccination, et cetera, et cetera.
Whatever the next college football mess is, the same dynamic will play out there too.

Ray and Ellen Deaver are the parents of current Waco mayor, Kyle Deaver
Rondy Gray is a local Waco banker
Jim and Nell Hawkins have their name on the Baylor indoor tennis facility; Claude and Becky Lindsey underwrote one of the courts in the facility.
Paul and Carol McClinton donated over a million towards the construction of an auditorium named after them inside a Baylor business school building.
Danny and Lenn Prince endowed a chair in the Baylor School of Social Work.
It's hardly surprising that these people—who undoubtedly know Starr personally and/or professionally—would take this public step. They're all in his general social/economic/political/cultural circle, and they're going to defend one of their own, regardless of how insane it may seem to those on the outside. This is the way the world works, for better or for worse.
good info on all of these supporters. But I think you left out the most important detail, they all apparently support women being raped without any form of justice. That little tidbit should be included.
love the down vote by the apparent rape lover.
Makes it easier to understand how cops defend each other when you see stuff like this.

but not really Starr himself, his hired "crisis manager"/PR lizard Sherrie Spaeth who has made a career out of coaching politicians how to lie outright and still come out smelling like a rose.
The worst part is I'm not surprised.
No, wait... that's not remotely close to being the worst part.

I almost wonder if this was just the men listed and they just put their wives names in to make it look like women agree with them.
I almost wonder if their wives are permitted to have independent public opinions.
But that's probably unfair. Madhatter's right--the wives probably think this way too.
Brave group of alumni to affix their names to this. Or delusional. Probably the latter.
