OT: Baylor player owns dopey media member
MOD EDIT - after a long night of Tournament viewing before sleep and then checking the board, yeah, I selected a better source with a less controversial name. - LSA
This is pretty terrible that you pulled it from this twitter feed.
Seriously, where are the mods? Delete this shit. WD can always create another post.
I was like WTF does that even mean and then I clicked on it and had to listen to that awful explanation.
You make it hard to defend you sometimes WD.
Something like " Baylor Player gives dopey media member a stupid and snide explanation"
I see you've made quite an impression in your +/- 48 hours on the board. What was your handle before you got tanked?
Going to take a wild guess and say this reporter did not attend Yale.
It is a fair question, but if you ask a question with snark, then expect snark in return.
edit: and the question was asked poorly.
The reporter sounded quite snotty.

The reporter got what he deserved. He asked a "question" that was more of an insult than a question. The players play their hearts out in this tournament and, win or lose, are more than worthy of respect and decorum in pressers.
Good to see this young adult stand up for himself.

I cannot create a post but you allow this type of rasicist crap on the site? WOW...I guess it's okay because it's not politics...
I think I missed it, where is the racism?
I think it's allowed on the board not because it's not politics, but because it's college athletics.
Edit: Never mind, from reading the other comments it appears the original embed was linked to a different source. My b.

What? That's just the account who tweeted the video.
Deadspin blocked theirs from being embedded.
You should know that you're responsible for pulling video from family-friendly Twitter accounts.
It popped up on my timeline because Andrew David retweeted it. Didn't even read the name until BB mentioned it. Too late to change it now since someone replied to it.
I demand that you stop following Andrew David on Twitter.

Oooh, yup. Ok. On my phone and the handle didn't come up until I switched to a desktop version.
Probably a bad idea.

If you pause the video, you can see the twitter feed it was from. It's a...less than PC feed name. That said, I think a lot of people are just looking for stuff to whine about, the content is totally fine (and awesome, in fact).
LSA fixed it, we can all come out of our safe spaces
Can't believe there isn't a better source for this.
A quick twitter search shows several other options.
But that might mean someone else could possibly post something from twitter before WD. This cannot be allowed.
Did you try to post this first?...and then did big bad WD take it away from you? poor baby

Yep that's exactly what happened. I tried to start my first thread ever trying to embed twitter which I don't use.
Can't believe people actually give a shit about the Twitter handle.
Why not? I'd like to retweet that, but there's no way I'm going to with that Twitter handle being the source. (My twitter feed is public and kept clean as I like to also tweet and follow content related to my job).

Keeping up your appearance is a little different than how shocked and offended some people in this thread seem to be at the sight of the handle...

I agree. When I saw the handle I shruggled my shoulders and said "well, don't retweet that one" and found Deadspin's to retweet.
It was noticable to me, but not worth posting on here and making any deal of it.

This is a dumb argument, IMO.
You don't want to retweet it? Fine. Don't. Congratulations on your squeaky-clean retweeting policy.
The word in the Twitter handle has been appropriated by black people to take ownership of it, and we have (presumably) a bunch of white people sitting around their computers getting their panties in a bunch about "OMG I can't believe that word exists I wouldn't dare even retweet such an offensive word!" It's not like Wolverine Devotee came up with the Twitter handle or anything.
It's not worth getting worked up over.
March 17th, 2016 at 10:12 PM ^
The same white people crying about the word probably don't give two shits about actual black problems in America too.
The fake outrage is hilarious in this thread.
... aaaannnd here we sit, teetering on the brink of talking about the OP and of being completely political.
pretend outrage is just the best

It seems I'm less worked up by it than you, Magnus. I was just pointing out that I wouldn't retweet it because my Twitter feed is public and I use it for work related things. I was just pointing out that as a reason why one might care about the handle.
As far as congratulating me on "my squeaky-clean retweeting policy." Well... I have three Twitter feeds. On my personal private one I retweet all kinds of shit. On the one that is public, with my name attached, that my employers know about... is it really a surprise I wouldn't retweet that? Who would in that situation?
Gee, why not just say "the blacks". Black people as a whole are not cool with this word being thrown around. Black people are not this homogenized group when we agree on everything. That word is definitely one. The black people I associate with do not use the word. It's not part of our lexicon.
And as a black person, I'm not mad at non-white people who use the word. I'm mad at black people who throw the word around with complete and total ignorance, then get mad when someone who doesn't look like them uses the word. Since my other opinions on the word are completely OT, I'll just leave it at that and say to cut WD some slack. Kid made a mistake. Move on.
It's bound to offend the predominatly white PC police
Stop it. This is supposed to be a funny thread, not some politicial bullshit.
Underwear are just too tight.
