OT- Question about Contact with Commits
Everybody knows that you shouldn't tweet recruits to (1) try to convince them to come to the school you root for or (2) try to convince them to stick with their commitment.
Does the same rule apply when a recruit is committed and shows no signs of flipping? For instance, would it be OK to tweet at Michigan Commitment X "Can't wait to see you on the field next year!" or "Welcome to the family!"
My instinct is that the same rules apply, but I'm less sure.
On a similar note, should you ever tweet at current players? For instance, Wyatt Shallman once asked on Twitter who would win in a fight between a bear and a lion. Should a person refrain from responding because they are still kids?
Basically, is it OK to tweet if it you aren't trying to do something grossly inappropriate like convince a kid of what to do with their life?
Mods, feel free to delete if the answer is obvious.
EDIT: Thank you guys for not negging me into oblivion and for confirming what I was thinking.

But I was thinking of tweeting a potential recruit to offer him a date with my daughter. She is dead set against it, but I just told her "the team, The Team, THE TEAM!" Does anyone know if this would be appropriate? The flow chart does not explain this scenario.

Is she hot? If yes, then you would be wrong NOT to force her into going on a date with a high school boy that neither of you have ever met.

Should a grown man ever tweet at a college kid?

People in college are not kids. Kids are like 12 years old. 17-18 are young men.

Why tweet someone you don't know who likely doesn't want to hear from you or care what you have to say?
Why not just be content with being a fan?

Sure, of course if they are your kids.

Don't know why you would even think about contacting a recruit. Or a player you don't know.

Yes, let's go ahead and forbid all contact between the generations, as any time an adult talks to a younger person they don't know the only possible interpretation is that they are a sexual predator.
I think there's something lost when we get so paranoid about this and we can't talk to each other any more. Let's lighten up a litte. We're talking about having innocuous discussions about sports in a public square.
Surely there are inappropriate ways of talking to kids, and doing so with a motivation to influence their future to your benefit is one of them. But let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater here. There are plenty of interactions we can have with each other across generations that are positive.

If someone doesn't want to be communicating with strangers, they can make their account private. People have public twitter accounts for the specific purpose of talking to people they don't know.

tweeting recruits is bad, but when i see someone refer to a recruit as "bro" in a tweet i cringe.
