OT: 49ers Replace Tomsula with Chip Kelly
This is hilarious.
As an Eagles fan, even moreso. They fired Harbaugh for being too controlling and hire a guy who my team fired for being too controlling.
49ers announced their new HC is Chip Kelly.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Completely missed that Twitter was quoting an old tweet.

I actually think that, as a Lions fan, I've got it better than a 49ers fan. Jed York should try and wrap his head around that.
[EDIT - I see from a comment that it's a 2014 tweet, which makes it an odd one to quote in this context. It's still bewildering that Lions fans have it better than 49ers fans with MFF at the helm.]

I don't get the 49ers tweet, as it was posted in Nov. 2014.

This hire is so amusing/confusing/maddening on so many levels. Especially given this tweet:
49ers GM wants coach who won't threaten power https://t.co/qwIH3Uh66U

must be trolling everyone with this shit, York and Baalke can't be serious when they say this.
January 14th, 2016 at 1:57 PM ^
organization operates. Get rid of a great coach because of little men syndrome and then continue to act like dumb fucks and believe that no one thinks you suck. So many people in this world are unbelievable. It's sad.
January 14th, 2016 at 1:59 PM ^
So they fired Harbaugh because the players thought he was too college-y and controlling...
And they hire Chip Kelly. OK.
January 14th, 2016 at 2:02 PM ^
That was just more dirt they wanted on Harbaugh to stick. Players actually liked him... hence the crazy exodus after he left.

who didn't know a damn thing about running an organization and a football team. The Baugh did and this rubbed his prissy little ass the wrong way because his pride was hurt being that he wasn't the main guy making the correct decisions and Jim maybe called him on it. I would've too if that was the case to better the whole team and organizations situation. Other wise what fuck is all your hard work for? The little man syndrom won over and he forced Jim out. Happens every day all over the world. Sucks but what can you do when little brats write the checks.

Organizational and decision making buffoonery aside, he could potentially build a very dangerous offense around Kaepernick.
It's a high risk/high reward gamble by the 49ers. I like it.

Also this, lol
Guess I might have to start running right now to get in shape

perfect time to renegotiate kapernicks deal
January 14th, 2016 at 3:51 PM ^
or he has a $7.3M buyout. SF has until April to make a decision, but where do you start in setting his value for a renegociated contract, when he isn't even healthy enough to work out.
Maybe, he wants to get out from under Baalke & York. Should be an interesting off season in more than one town.
January 14th, 2016 at 4:23 PM ^
Kaep is going not going anywhere. Kelly wanted him as his QB where ever he ended up.
January 14th, 2016 at 2:40 PM ^
What's the big deal? If York doesn't like him, he can just fire him in December, right? /s
January 14th, 2016 at 2:51 PM ^
I give it one year, maybe 2?

What a trainwreck of a team.
January 14th, 2016 at 6:00 PM ^
If the 49ers weren't a trainwreck,
1. Jim Harbaugh would still be in SF.
2. The Lions would still be the most ridiculous trainwreck in the NFL.
3. Ron Jeremy would still be in porn.

I saw this one come acrss my feed and had to laugh,...
Chip Kelly is a great fit for SF because he already knows what it’s like to be fired for only one bad season.

If he can handle not being the GM then I think this could be a good fit for him.
It's not a terriblew move by the niners, but I find it interesting they're bringing in someone who is almost as crazy as Harbaugh and since they couldn;t handle that............
January 14th, 2016 at 3:35 PM ^
what RGIII would look like in this scheme. My guess is pretty darn good. If I am Chip, I am doing everything in my power to get him in SF.
January 14th, 2016 at 3:38 PM ^
The problem with RG3 is fast decision making. Chip isn't gonna like him.

Chip Kelly must be one hell of a salesman...
January 14th, 2016 at 7:40 PM ^
this is why it doesn't matter how dumb the gm is -- the job is precious and will attract talented people. i suspect Cap will have a great year and the 49ers an OK one ...

Reap what you sow I guess.
In other news, Chip Kelly has all the characteristics that got Jim Harbaugh fired...only Jim had proven he could win at the NFL level. Seems like a bad move.
