Michigan Ball Hawks?!?!?!?
Has anyone seen this hat out on the market. I suspect its something the program has made up for the defensive and it appears to date back to spring practice.
I suspect its soemthing the program has made up for the defensive backs. Saw it here on a sweatshirt too:
Anyone seen this stuff for sale anywhere?

Man, it's almost like not everything associated with Michigan football has to be a money grab anymore!

I think this is just one of multiple "team only" pieces of gear that has been given out. Over the summer those kids who participated in every practice got something special like this too. Not going to find any of it at mden or moe's though.

Either ball hawks are all bone except the wings, or that's a dead WR who just got his wings.
My daughter did tell me that every time I hear a bell ring, Pep gave another player his wings.

You guys have succeeded in turning this thread into a Dong-Bang thread (the lesser known of the "-Bang" family of threads following the Pos-Bang and Neg-Bang.)

pass break ups are a different statistical category from interceptions and fumbles, right? Fumbles recoveries and interceptions are both considered "take-aways" because the opponent literally doesn't have the ball after it is "taken away" from them. So I don't think the term take away is vague, if anything, the term ball-hawk is vague. I consider a "ball-hawk" to be a player who is always around the ball and making plays on defense. Which Lewis, Wilson, and Stribling fit the bill for. Unless you were being sarcastic or trolling and I missed it, if you break up a pass, you are not in fact, taking the ball away from the opponent.

Durkin can probably by the gear himself and get it embroidered at a local shop. Not a violation because the guys get free gear as part of being on the team. And if it's a gift, it's not worth more than $100 so they're fine.
Nice little motivation tactic that builds up the team even 1% more. Great idea.

I have a class right after a bunch of defensive players in Mason Hall, and I can attest to the fact that this seems to be a players-only item. All of the defensive players wear their Ball Hawks sweatshirts and hats.
