Brady says he has 7-8 more years
This article tries to make a mountain out of a molehill (shocker) regarding Brady supposedly "taking jabs" at Peyton in private emails which were made public as part of the Deflategate court proceedings. What I think is newsworthy though is Brady's prediction that he has "another 7 or 8 years" left of football.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, he may have been over his head, but when he's in his element he's a pretty darn good D-line coach.
. . . wait, what?
I would love to see Tom's lasting that long, but cannot. He will go down as arguably the best QB of all time, though.

Came in as a QB backup for Daryle Lamonica at age 43 and led the team to a number of victories. Continued on as kicker for the Raiders until age 48.

Is this where I insert an anecdote about ten thousand QBs who didn't last that long?
He's nuts.

Evidently Brady is pretty serious about playing well into his forties and has a plan in place to accomplish it. That plan may not exactly be fullproof, but I wouldn't bet against that guy.

And this is why it should surprise no one that Brady didn't want to give up his cell phone. Casual texts about other players in the league, stuff regarding Gisele, inappropriate jokes, etc. Of course he wouldn't want that out there. It's much more plausible than some massive mid-game bathroom conspiracy to take a PSI or two out of 11 footballs.
But, but, but... you can trust the NFL not to leak any of that personal stuff. They are totally trustworthy.

Still won't forget the blatant attempts at character assassination against Desean Jackson 2 years ago and Dez Bryant last year when it came to contract negotiation time.
Next step will be leaking out that you stole a candy bar at age 10 and got caught, thus docking you of a $10 million bonus.
Smh...

Anyone that believes super bowls are a measure of a quarterback, believes Trent Dilfer was awesome.
Super Bowls aren't everything, but they aren't nothing, either.
Cracks me up how that whiny little bitch has been pwned by Michigan men. First Woodson adn the Heisman and then his whole career in the NFL standing in Brady's shadow. Love it.

Really, I will give you that he is one of the best regular season qbs, but look at his post season record (11-13) and heck, evem rli has 2 tings to his 1. He is the modern day Dan Marino with 1 ring.

Comparing anyone's success vs. the Lions' abject failures is definitely winner of the Straw Man award.

I'm stunned that you fall into the "superbowls are the only part of greatness" crowd.
Teams win superbowls.
Dan Marino is one of the top 5 quarterbacks ever to play.
Giving Elway credit for his two superbowls is the same mistake. He would be 0-5 if they hadn't found a devastating run game.

all of that has just been revenge against Manning for his action(or lack thereof) toward Michigan. If Manning and Tennessee had not sucked so hard against Nebraska in 97 we would not have had to split that NC with the Huskers.
So really he kind of started it.

I know Peyton didn't throw for a ton of yards (only 132 on 31 attempts), but he only threw one interception (in the 2nd half of the game).
Tennessee had two critical first half turnovers --- but neither was on Peyton. Jamal Lewis fumbled at the Nebraska 22-yard-line, then there was a fumbled punt at the Husker 15-yard-line.
The game was getting out of hand in the 3rd quarter, but Peerless Price also dropped a long pass that had the potential to be a Tennessee TD. Manning placed the ball well, Price didn't catch it.
Peyton wasn't on the Tennessee defense that just got SHREDDED. Nebraska just rag-dolled that Volunteer Defense, the Huskers had 409 rushing yards.

It was Manning's fault.
(In all honestly, I don't remember the details of the game whereas it looks like you have it readily availably on DVR with still frames, player spot-lighting and all kinds of gadgets. Big Orance Bowl fan huh?)

I'll be honest, I simply don't understand SOME (not all) U-M fans hatred (and it IS hatred) of Peyton.
He never complained about the 1997 Heisman Trophy. And there was no QB alive who was winning that 1998 Orange Bowl. Nebraska ran all over Tennessee, a few other Vols turned the ball over when the game was still close in the 1st half, and that was that.

I am not in the hate Manning camp. I think he is overrated, yes, but I don't have any heightened level of dislike for him for any particular reason. I think he folds like a lawnchair in big games, but that's about all.
He's not close to overrated.
He's the single greatest quarterback ever to play (other than Montana).
They asked all the living hall of fame quarterbacks who they though was the best. Every single one but 1 said Manning. One said tie.
Brady is wonderful quarterback and has had wonderful, complete teams with fantastic press corners when he's won.
Brady is overrated too. In this era where defensive backs are prohibited from, ya know, PLAYING DEFENSE, without being penalized for it, I think there is a lot hyperbole used with Manning, Brady, and Rodgers. I think they are all good quarterbacks but I don't endulge in this GOAT talk with any of them.

I think he personally cost Peyton 2 Superbowl rings - or at least the opportunity for them.

Mountains out of a mole hill to the extreme. It was an incredibly savvy and strategic of Brady to have his phone destroyed. Can you imagine if more "horrible jabs" like this were leaked. What if he said Peyton Manning's favortie color is orange and he thinks thats a dumb color or maybe something unthinkable like he thinks his wife isn't as hot as Giselle. Can you imagine the public outcry . . . the hysteria?!?!
