Looks like ticket allocation has started (and there's availability)
Based on the following I jst got from the AD, it would appear as if ticket allocation has started. Also that there may be some availability:
You have been identified as a Michigan Football Season Ticket Holder who sits in a location with an open single seat next to you. We wanted to let you know that this seat is available to you for purchase as an additional season ticket* for the 2015 season, and then renewable for subsequent seasons. The cost of the ticket is $455 along with the Preferred Seat Donation for the corresponding seating tier.
If interested in adding this seat, please contact the Michigan Ticket Office at (866) 296-6849. The deadline for this offer is Wednesday June 3rd.
Important Note: Other Season Ticket Holders in your seating area have been contacted with this same offer, so hurry as seats will be sold on a first come-first serve basis.
Go Blue!

*Season ticket only, not available for individual game purchase. Maximum of 8 non-premium season tickets permitted.
I wondered about this. I've got to believe that there are a lot of people like me who, as excited as I am about Harbaugh coming back, have gotten out of the habit of going to games and have replaced that time with other activities. I discovered last year that my couch, TV and nearby refrigerator make a fairly adequate substitue for the gameday experience and I really dont see myself rushing to go back to the Big House anytime soon.
I really wonder just how much permanent damage Brandon did to the fanbase. I'm just a 55 year old out-of-towner who's best attending days are behind me. But we've got entire student bodies that didnt embrace going to games while they were at school - how in the hell are they going be compelled to attend now that they're gone?
One of those students you mentioned (attended 2005 - 2011), and while it was a shitty time in UM football (outside of 2006...in general) I jumped at the chance to buy tickets. I don't even make much money right now but it would've taken a damn catastrophy to keep me from getting season tix. No matter what the team does, I'm excited to keep these tickets in my family for years to come and to pass on my love of UM football to my (future) kids.

And i sincerely hope that each and every person does as you guys have done and re-ups. A full stadium is not only more fun, it helps the team so make no mistake - it would make me very happy to learn I'm a severe outlier and representative of something larger.
But I just find this offer odd if there's a surplus of demand. I know in the 27 years I had season tickets (2 on the 30 - 4 on the 20) I never got an offer like this nor did I ever hear of anyone getting this opportunity.
are harder to sell since most new season ticket holders would want 2 or more. It's possible that no one thought of this idea before, or at least took action on it if someone did (offer the single seats to adjacent season ticket holders). Otherwise, they have to try and sell the odd seats on a game by game basis which is harder. Just a thought.
2 years ago, we noticed a seat that random people would sit in at each game. So we asked them where they got the tickets. When they said it was from the ticket office, I just called and asked to add that seat to mine. I guess it's new that they are emailing, but you could always ask.
Just bought regular season tickets for the first time this season. Was a student through 2013 and went to games on a per game basis through 2013 and 2014. I know there will be some out there adverse to attending games who recently graduated, but there are definitely plenty that still want to go.
Just curious, what is special about an even number? It is just as likely that someone has two or four accomplices for games as having one or three, right?

I'm in the same position and I just called to see if I could add another (I bought 3, would love a 4th). The woman who answered the phone was able to tell me where my seats are, give them a call and find out!
This is my first year being offered season tickets as well.
I thought this was an odd time for them to become available.
