I wouldnt hate it...
He is actually a little undersized for LT compared to guys like LTT. He would probably be a better fit a Center. And considering he was a successful starting LT as a true freshman, he is probably a smart kid, which would be nice to have at Center.
That being said, none of this bodes well for Kugler

Superfluous, at best.

Serious question- is that a typical way for a center hold the ball pre-snap? Looks a little odd to me
a style of shotgun snapping
It's a pretty standard way to perform a shotgun snap. If done properly the QB will catch the ball with his hand on the laces.
magnuson sighting...haven't heard much about him in a while

This might be something that the coaches want to try out to get the five best players on the field.
Henry Poggi working on both sides of the ball. Also did some DL stuff. RT @MaizeBlueNews: At practice today, Henry Poggi was working as an H-back.

Geesh...it sounds like a high school practice. lol
This is what I think. Probably not all of these moves will stick. They're just trying what they can and this is a better time then fall to do it. I think JH wants to get the most competitive people on the field.
So then Magnuson back to LT I would assume? Or LTT?
Michigan needs a viable center other than Kugler in case he goes down. You can't count on Glasgow, harsh as that may sound, and Bars apparently isn't ready. It's also possible that Michigan will be better with Cole at center and LTT at LT than they are with Kugler at center and Cole at LT.

Some interesting line combinations at practice today. Mason Cole at guard on one play w/ Samuelson and JBB at tackles.

As much as I could see Harbaugh doing something to troll the media, I cant see him purposely wasting anytime.
And its not as if Cole playing Center is crazy enough to even be considered "trolling"
play the whole line himself.
Many old school O Line guys swear by putting your best guy at Center. Can make such a difference in the run game.

guy on the field. he has first line calls and has to be done in a handful of seconds, upon which the ripple to the other lineman go. guards/tackles/TE's making their calls. snap count, shot gun in right place, set, go!

of Jerry Hanlon here---after all, Jim Harbaugh the QB (and before that, Jim Harbaugh the youngster) would have spent a lot of time soaking up the knowledge of Hanlon,.
Sam called it last night and then the photos from practice surfaced today. It's a good move, gets the 5 best OL on the field and gives us better size at tackle.
I don't think this is a big deal. Most likely it's just the coaches trying different combo's at different positions to see how everyone does.
Even if this is legit, honestly if anything this is good news. Cole is the returning starter at LT, and he played very solidly as a true freshman. If he's replaced, that means that coaches think they guy behind him is better, which is a good sign. I'm not worried.

since he knows the calls to make.
I thought LTT had a size and athleticism advantage over Cole (or at least equal athleticism)? It was experience/technique where LTT was far behind Cole. So maybe this is a good thing in that LTT has gotten the latter down enough to at least consider this move.

Kids gott learn multiple positions in case of injury. You got to know how the 6th lineman fits in depending on which of the first 5 goes down. The same the the 7th lineman, and the 8th lineman, etc
I have to admit, at first I read this as "Brian Cole to center" and I got really confused.
I've been reading so much about Brian Cole this spring and I can't remember hearing anything about Mason Cole, so when I saw Cole I just immediately thought of Brian. Also, I'm running on little sleep and several beers.
