Thanks for the info.
You might also want to capitalize properly and mention the fact that they are interviews in the title.

I understood exactly what he meant.

EDIT: It appears the Board has spoken. Sorry OP.
EDIT2: Also, it would have been AWESOME to be mentored by a Grad student like Morgan. Seems like he has a good head on his tree trunk neck.

I smiled at this trail, EastCoast, I feel your pain. For the life of me, I can't figure out when its ok to correct grammar or make suggestions. I have been on the giving and receiving end of corrections, and been negged when I complain about it not being a "graded term paper" but been negged when also correcting someone in the same fashion I was corrected. One day, people love it, and appreciate it, and the next you get negged to eternity.. I guess its just timing.
I certainly see both sides.. 1. Its a blog, who cares about wording and punctuation as long as the point is understood. but..... 2. There is a line where its like, "C'mon man, can you just self-edit your post one time prior to posting."
The fine line of blogging!

Here are some keys:
- Ability to understand what you mean quickly. A lot of us are sneaking an update-look while at work. It helps to know what you mean without having to hover over your post for half a minute while the boss walks by.
- Ability to understand what you mean on a mobile device where the font is usually really, really small. Run-on sentences and not using paragraphs will get you killed.
- Not blatantly embarrassing the rest of us. Typos and grammar slip ups are a time honored part of blogging. But the obvious stupidity that we make fun of . . . "for all intensive purposes", "pre-Madonna's" . . . that kind of stuff, we draw the line. It makes it so much harder to make fun of RCMB when we do that.

I think this is pretty accurate. Speaking as a former English teacher and magazine editor, correcting typos, misspellings, etc. is for me a simple reflex. So when participating in these discussions, I've had to re-train myself to "put my red pen down," as it were. Nailing somebody for a simple grammar mistake doesn't do anything but piss people off and make you look like a dick. In other words, it makes you "that guy."
Having said that, people who write stuff like "for all intensive purposes," "pre-Madonnas," "could of gone better," etc. are just inviting abuse. It would be wrong of us not to accept the invitation.
February 23rd, 2015 at 6:43 PM ^
Agreed. Using "their" versus "they're" incorrectly bugs me personally, but on here I leave that kind of stuff alone.

It's always time for . . .
February 23rd, 2015 at 12:24 PM ^
next time you want him to type this up in MLA format?
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:12 PM ^
APA format FTW!
February 23rd, 2015 at 2:21 PM ^
Nah I prefer AMA, Chicago or Turabian..
February 23rd, 2015 at 12:30 PM ^
Do these comments make you feel better about yourself? Just curious
February 23rd, 2015 at 12:33 PM ^
Nope. Actually embarrassed. Thought I was helping, but I wasn't.
February 23rd, 2015 at 2:18 PM ^
Sorry if I came on too strong.
I be no good at english either, so I am a little sensitive. Plus sometimes on the iphone or ipad it is so hard to go back and correct.
You are an unusual poster, in that, you admit you might have been wrong and actually feel bad.
You are a good man (or woman!)
February 23rd, 2015 at 2:27 PM ^
So a guy gets gang-negged for posting without realizing how his comment will be recieved. Then he proceeds to respond in a mature, contrite fashion? What parallel universe am I in right now?
February 23rd, 2015 at 2:42 PM ^
I would imagine you are not the original creator of this term, however I have not heard it before so I credit you with making me laugh. Well played. I will certainly be using it at a later date.+1 sir!

There are a few unspoken rules around here that you have to learn, that exist for no other reason than sometimes MGoBloggers -- while overall, as far as Internet communities go, ranks far above average -- are in certain conditions just as capable of being groupthink jackasses as any other.
I think it stinks and it's embarrassing, but neither can I change it so just go with the flow. I also have to periodically remind myself to not take the good for granted because again, while it's not fun when MGoBlog goes all YouTube on you, it doesn't happen nearly as often or with as much froth. But yeah, it happens.

I will remember to check them out now.
February 23rd, 2015 at 12:16 PM ^
Desmond Morgan chewed the hell out of that pen clip. I don't know why this is what I noticed most beyond the football highlights.
February 23rd, 2015 at 12:24 PM ^
thats the intensity harbaugh is looking for, great catch
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:21 PM ^
I did, however, notice that Desmond Morgan is well-spoken compared to the average "student-athlete" that we typically see interviewed in national media.
February 23rd, 2015 at 2:51 PM ^
fact-based observation you racist sumbitch?!
Oh, and we're not correcting grammar at this particular instant either!
Oooo! A shiny nickel.......
February 23rd, 2015 at 2:29 PM ^
Noticed the pen too...thought I was the only wierd one.
Nice to know I'm not alone.

How he used his redshirt year, balancing student teaching with football this year, and more. Looking forward to seeing him back on the field.

A beautiful oasis of content in the vast desert of the offseason. Spring practice soon.
February 23rd, 2015 at 12:51 PM ^
I, for one, would not have checked for an MGoBlue taped interview yet.
February 23rd, 2015 at 12:57 PM ^
His neck is so thick. I can't wait to see what he can do in 2015. He has been my favorite player since I saw his high school highlights.
Good luck Des!
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:12 PM ^
upvote just for "his neck is so thick"... that needs a gif or something. I lol'ed
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:20 PM ^
You can tell he has been using his time in the weight room well. I hope he can still check his blind spots with neck muscles that big.
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:26 PM ^
Morgan's neck vs Bielfeldt's calves?
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:26 PM ^
Interesting hearing about the student teaching work he's doing. That's gotta be a really long day.
Wonder what it would be like to have a current M football player as your teacher in high school?
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:40 PM ^
It seemed that Hoke/Mattison were always trying to find reasons to have others (especially Bolden) take PT away from Morgan. Morgan is a big (apparently now bigger), experienced classic middle linebacker. Put him on the field in the middle and watch him work. He is going to have a great year.
February 23rd, 2015 at 1:49 PM ^
And I can't wait to (finally) hear from Peppers tomorrow.
February 23rd, 2015 at 2:02 PM ^
It's kind of cool to see that a former teacher of mine is supervising him. He got lucky in getting her as she was a great teacher.
February 23rd, 2015 at 3:16 PM ^
Gonna be great to see what these athletes are capable of with a highly competent coaching staff.
February 23rd, 2015 at 3:29 PM ^
That Peppers interview is going to be fun to watch. I can't wait to see some spring practice video with him flying around.
February 23rd, 2015 at 8:49 PM ^
I wish I could have one year of eligibility. Im so pumped for this season, 191 days until #BEAT UTAH!!!
February 23rd, 2015 at 4:42 PM ^
When are the spring rosters announced?
February 23rd, 2015 at 6:48 PM ^
It must be awesome to be a student in his student-taught class.
