Shemy Schembechler - Bo Would Tell Harbaugh "To Come Home"
Slow 'Baugh day, so here are some table scraps. I am just glad that this appears to be a full-court press in every respect. Everyone is doing what they can to reel in our prize fish.

Bo would almost certainly tell Jim to "come home". Unfortunately he can't, which further highlights the fact that Michigan has gone to hell in a handbasket since that man passed away.

Wow such negativity, someone didn't get a Happy Ending within the last couple of days!

Back about 15 years ago or so I had the priveldge of having breakfast with Shemy, Bo and George Lilja one morning here in Cleveland. George was a friend and neighbor and invited me to join the other three ("hey Don - got any plans Saturday morning? Want to have breakfast with me & Bo?) and that might've been the quickest yes I've ever given someone.
The best part of the morning was after introductions and pleasantries were exchanged (and Bo at the time reminded me a LOT of my own late father) Bo & George basically swapped stories for about Gerore's time at Michigan for 90 minutes straight - each one funnier than the next.
As my #1 priority that morning was to not saying anything stupid I kept mostly quiet as did Shemy but I do remember he was a pretty good guy. Harbaugh should listen to him.

The best story was one day in August during George's true Freshman year (1977) - Bo set up breakfast training table apparently for the first time. Up till then they only had lunch & dinner together as a team but Bo wanted them to have a good breakfast too so he started up that meal.
Well I guess the first day of breakfast training table the meal was suppose to start at 7:00am (or maybe 8:00am but it was early and especially early for a college student) and George was the only player who showed up. So that afternoon at practice Bo ripped the team about not getting to training table and made everyone run extra steps and generally made life a living hell for the team that day. At the end of practice Bo gathered the team together and pointed out George and asked him to stand up. He then loudly let the team know that one player made training table, that one player cared enough and was committed enough to get there and they should all remember George's dedication and his ability to follow instructions. Then Bo turned back to George - still standing in front of the entire team (and remember - George was a center so he's big dude) and asked him:
"So George.....did you get enough to eat?"

This just reminded about the Michigan football book I had that had a personalized autograph from Bo made out to me. It was at my parent's house and one day I came looking for it and it was gone. Haven't been able to find it since. I has a sad.

Ironic considering Bo didn't recruit Harbaugh instead, Bo waited for Jimmy to come crawling to him.
It was his senior year in high school, he was living in California, and as he walked across the street to the Stanford football stadium, Jim Harbaugh figured his future might be determined in the next hour. He was dressed in a nice sweater, his hair neatly combed, loafers on his feet. Did he look grown up? He wanted to look grown up, because he was going to see Bo Schembechler, who was in town to coach the East-West Shrine Game. He hadn't seen Schembechler since the family moved from Michigan two years earlier. "They weren't even recruiting me," Harbaugh recalls. "I got a few things in the mail, but, you know, no phone calls, nothing.

I'm tired. I missed the part about it being a frat brother and read that it was your dad. This question would have been funnier had it been your dad. I think.

say "do what's best for you and your family." And then of course he would spend an hour PASSIONATELY telling Jim why Michigan is without a doubt the best decision for him and his family.

I like the full court press on Harbaugh
On the other hand...well, it does sound kinda desperate (well, UM football is kinda desperate for a great coach).
On bended knee we go...
