[Denard out for season with sprained foot]
Denard will miss the rest of 2014 with a mid foot injury.
This hurts my fantasy team. I drafted denard late (again). He blew up for me. Luckily I'm in a keeper league.
Here's to a speedy recovery.
Mod edit: Changed the title and here's a link. JGB.

I'm with you. Unfortunately, there's still some 21 days left of it.
2014 is Walter White, in case that wasn't clear.

I mean, everybody was saying this same stuff last year about 2013 vs. 2014. Maybe we could just drop the silly superstition and stop blaming things on years. Not to mention the absurd confirmation bias that allows us to avoid the fact that 2013 and 2014 were the most successful years the basketball program has had in a generation.
The football program has badly disappointed all but one of the last seven years. At least, the superstition should broaden somehow to account for all of that. But probably it should just go away.

We had some good times in 2014. There's always Appalachian State.
December 10th, 2014 at 3:42 PM ^
No there isn't. Any mention of that school will trigger memories of The Horror.
I would say that there's always the basketball B1G Championship, the 2-0 record against Ohio State, and the regular season sweep of MSU.

DENARD WILL NEVER BE OT!! Come back strong as the starter in 2015, Denard!
December 10th, 2014 at 3:36 PM ^
Didn't we say the same thing in 2013? This Y2K thing can go kick rocks.

To me, the "Fuck (insert current year)" meme is getting really old. Maybe it should be retired.

Ya..detachment is the only way to survive
December 10th, 2014 at 3:39 PM ^
Could end well with a solid coaching hire and the basketball team figuring things out. That would be a really great way to shove it up the backend of 2014.
December 10th, 2014 at 3:39 PM ^
Not to be that guy but your title should probably be changed to: "Denard out for year with foot sprain." Slightly more informative than "Dammit to hell."
Mostly kidding around, but change that title.

You're all invited to my New Years Party.
The B1G Title in hoops and the run to the Elite 8 seem to me like 5 years ago... I WANT NICE THINGS AGAIN!!!

It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
Goodyear?
No, the worst

I bet your highlight was getting Dave Brandon fired or was it the 1,000,000+ MgoPoints you received? Not a bad MgoYear for you WD.
December 10th, 2014 at 3:46 PM ^
I doubt that WD took any pleasure in seeing an athletic director who had turned the athletic department into a circus get fired, even if he was partially responsible for the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm pretty sure most Michigan fans would have preferred that the Brandon era didn't turn out to be an epic a train wreck.

I meant my comment more in the light hearted elbow bumping sarcastic type sense.

Congrats. Going to college is a great experience. I hope you enjoy it. I also hope my comment went into your head in the light hearted joking sense it was intended for. Obviously seeing the downfall of an Athletic Director of a school you love was not your biggest joy.

very well could have been Prom, but noooooo, you just wouldn't listen to all the worldly yet great advice so many of us had for you.
Instead, 'SuperGuides'. We can only hope college coeds will give you the education of your life in '15.

There is only one thing worse than fantasy football. Talking about your fantasy football team.

Eventually football is going to have a breakout year like our 2012 basketball team. It will be pure pandemonium around here after the years of built up frustration.
December 10th, 2014 at 3:51 PM ^
Kudos for holding off until your fantasy football playoffs. You almost made it to 2015 unscatched.
If it makes you feel better, he would've gone up against the Ravens D in Baltimore this weekend. Might not have mattered anyway.
December 10th, 2014 at 3:58 PM ^
You're fantasy team is in the playoffs and denard got hurt? This can only point to one thing...

Totally agree
December 10th, 2014 at 3:59 PM ^
Yeah, I mean I got married this year, and have now started a family, and the Giants won their third of five World Series titles. There is simply no way I could have handled this year in my twenties.

If I wasn't running my own business and focusing on this stuff like I was in grad school I would have lost my mind by now
December 10th, 2014 at 4:22 PM ^
Denard's success was the one thing that has really made me happy this football season. Here's to a dillithium-fast recovery.
December 10th, 2014 at 4:36 PM ^
Well that sucks. Time to change my fantasy football name away from the it's Denard theme for the playoffs then. He hadn't been in my starting lineup for the past couple weeks, but he was still on my team and was a big part of me turning my season around to make the playoffs. Hope it's not too serious and that they're just shelving him to avoid further aggravation for next year's sake.
December 10th, 2014 at 4:39 PM ^
the original title of this thread better.
December 10th, 2014 at 5:17 PM ^
That's a shame - hopefully, he has a full and speedy recovery and we get to see him as Jacksonville's starting RB next season.
It really was great to see him come into his own as an RB in the league after being allowed by the team to focus just on that this season. His future in the league really does look bright, and as someone mentioned, hearing how well he was doing really did help make football in Ann Arbor more bearable.

We must offer a sacrifice to the gods in hopes of appeasing them and ending this curse. I nominate Dave Brandon.

December 10th, 2014 at 7:41 PM ^
Get well soon Denard! There might be a silver lining in this. His team isn't that great and I think he has done enough to convince people he has a future in the league as a 12-15 carry back and if he can pass block and catch a ball he could be like Terry Metcalf or Daryn Sproles - a super quick pass catching speed running back. May he have a long and fulfilling career.
December 10th, 2014 at 8:38 PM ^
He had a good season and set himself up for next year. Saving some wear and tear in the long run. Hope he comes back with a big year next year.

Can't we have ANYTHING good?
I just made this for an upcoming post too.
