Frank Clark Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge
No details yet as this apparently just happened but the Erie County jail's website has a log of all arrests and Frank Clark is on there:
If you are for some reason dubious that this guy who looks just like Frank Clark is Frank Clark, his DOB matches that on Frank Clark's MGoBlue bio.
When it rains it pours.

+1
I appreciate the effort. You took a risk with that one.

This will hurt his draft stock- NFL is very concerned about image and "family friendliness" plus a person with a pattern of crime often repeats and gets suspended. Suspensions hurt, look at A. Peterson- who wants to spend $$$$ and draft positions on a time bomb?

pretty sure that was sarcasm

Dude must have been booked in the last two hours (11/16 date listed) and it's up on the site. I want to say something snarky like "thanks for being awake to bring us this wonderful news so immediately" but not really. More I just tried to think of a similar case. IIRC there were legal incidents (drunk driving-level) that were only discovered after hearing the player was "in the doghouse" or some such and people went searching for a reason.
I mean, bravo for having a tipster in the Erie Co. PD? Gah, this sucks.

We were also praising 2014 for the glorious hiring of a new offensive coordinator. Whoops.

Um, because he's from Cleveland?

Obviously, Frank has had some troubles in the past and we don't know the circumstances that led to the current arrest. I only have an extremely limited fan's perspective. But, he just seemed to come across like a guy who had matured and was on a good path. I hope this doesn't derail that and wish the best for all involved.

Thanks for putting this in the proper perspective.
Although I'm not optimistic (based on too-easy-to-make assumptions) that this will turn out well for Clark, no way am I about to pass any kind of judgement until the facts come out. All we can do is watch and wait, then see how the University handles it. The next move we'll hear about will probably be when our interim AD Hackett and/or Coach Hoke take appropriate action.

Not what we need at all. At least we don't have DB to screw this up more. Just own up to it and suspend him for the rest of the season/kick off the team if it can be proven that he's guilty.
November 16th, 2014 at 6:01 AM ^
Given that we know very little about what happened I think call's for suspension, and seperation from the team are a bit pre-mature. Too many people hear "domestic violence" and immediately think that some guy beat the crap out of some woman. When it can also mean violence between siblings.

Would his life have been that much better if he'd been charged with assault?
November 16th, 2014 at 11:19 AM ^
I think that many people read Domestic Violence simply as "Wife Beater", and assualt as "fighting", not really caring about what actually happened.
I'm sure some jobs will hire one but not the other, while many also treat them the same. Hiring a construction worker vs. a teacher.

Main difference, at this stage, is that an assault charge is eligible for a bond right away. One charged with domestic violence must be held in jail until they see a judge.

I would say anything at Thanksgiving that involves calling the cops and ends in an arrest is more than a "scuffle", but maybe my Thanksgivings are more laid back than most.
