Saturday Noon Game Thread
Not much out there on the slate that pops out - probably the most interesting game is Maryland at Indiana but it has a weird time slot at 1:30 PM. If Tenn is improved their game vs Georgia might be worth a whirl
Wyoming visits Spartans
South Florida vs Wiscy
Tulane v Rutgers
Tennessee v Georgia
Northwestern v PSU
Iowa v Purdue
Vandy v Kentucky

Until IU/Maryland comes on then it'll be a nice flipping back and forth.

That's a dumb midseason move. I hate that motivational tactic anyway.
But all this is going to do is draw attention to why names were on the jerseys to begin with...and why would you want to draw attention to that?
However, even if there was no scandal tied to it...is taking a name off a jersey really going to change something? If it's just a matter or preference, then cool...I'm with it. But if it's doing because someone isn't playing hard enough, then it's stupid.
lol, if after 2-3 good games they "get their names back"...like it actually had some affect on the situation.

Corso is such a fool saying Michigan is only gonna win 4 games.
Northwestern just went straight down the field against Penn State.
On the road. Northwestern who lost to NIU. And is 1-9 against FBS teams in their last 10.
Big Ten.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:58 PM ^
I will go apeshit on this board if we lose to that central PA school for the 10,000th time since 2008.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:17 PM ^
...has given us something to worry about.

their play calling and execution is just night and day from Michigan. NIght and day. How sad.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:22 PM ^
Connor Cook can sling it. Just threw a TD in a tight window that Stafford would miss half the time. A year ago at this time he looked horrid-not sure I can remember a QB make such a transformation in 12 months.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:23 PM ^
MSU looking good out the gate again. Remember when we used to look like that? (Takes shot, exhales audibly and wipes tear)
September 27th, 2014 at 12:25 PM ^
He looks right at his pass protection or right at his running hole every time. It's so obvious.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:29 PM ^
Wow Wyoming scores.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:30 PM ^
14-0 NU......BIG TEHHHHHN
September 27th, 2014 at 12:40 PM ^
September 27th, 2014 at 12:37 PM ^
Northwestern already inside PSUs 10 again.lol
September 27th, 2014 at 12:39 PM ^
Wait, NU beating PSU in Happy Valley?
Where are the guys wringing their hands over the fact that Michigan "missed out on Franklin," the guys that already handed him the B10Championship. Despite the fact that Hackenburg had more INT's then TD this season thus far (4 TD's and 5 INT's) they keep slobbing all over the kid.
NU about to score again.
Woe is me, if we only could have hired Franklin, he would have everything going in the right direction.
What a joke!
September 27th, 2014 at 12:39 PM ^
Sparty looking like a well oiled machine on offense. On D though they did give up a long TD run that was funny as two Sparty defenders tackled each other.
Wyoming is better than Miami OH?
September 27th, 2014 at 12:42 PM ^
Hell yeah they're better, Wyoming has Craig Bohl.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:53 PM ^
Again with the people crownign Sparty for beating bad teams. When 3 of your 4 non conference games are against cupcakes and in the other you get run the field its not impressive.
FSU beating OK St. and Georgia beating Clemson. Those are good non-conference performances. What MSU is doing is not impressive.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:01 PM ^
I agree that their non-conference slate hasn't been impressive, but they are blowing the bad teams out. That does count for something.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:07 PM ^
People doubt Baylor's strength because of their NC opponents. Well MSU's non conference opponents other than Oregon have been just as bad. MSU shouldn't get credit for getting run over by Oregon.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:35 PM ^
Sadly, before IU's win over Mizzou that was the conference's best OOC performance.
I agree that MSU hasn't really played anyone close to competitive save for Oregon obviously, and even now Wyoming has shown more fight than anyone expected even with the lopsided score.
September 27th, 2014 at 2:55 PM ^
Rutgers victory over Wazzu was the conferences best OOC performance. MSU lost to Oregon, losses are never as impressive as victories.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:40 PM ^
Northwestern fakes field goal in end zone, gets stuffed. Remains 14-0.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:46 PM ^
If I were an NU guy I'd be a bit ticked by the fake call that early in the game. You're up 14-0, on the road and have held PSU to no 1st downs. Kick and go up by three scores, betting on the fact that sooner or later Hackenburg is going to get it going. If it's on the ensuing drive, you might only be 14-7 with PSU starting to "feel it." Obviously, if it works, he's a genuis ... but still, take the points and play defense.

September 27th, 2014 at 12:55 PM ^
I remember the pre-RR days differently. We would play cupcakes pretty soft, keep it vanilla and call off the dogs way too early.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:45 PM ^
Enough with the sparty nuthugging.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:49 PM ^
No shit!
So sick of hearing Michigan fans whine and gush over Sparty. They're better than us because they've been patient and stuck with a coaching staff who didn't WOW MSU when they first came in. Michigan fans are starting to really sound pathetic!

If to talk about MSU go elsewhere. They aren't a viable national title contender like some on this blog think. They are beating up on bad teams.
Just like Kirk Cousins How did he look against a somewhat decent D on Thursday?
September 27th, 2014 at 1:01 PM ^
Yeah. State's alum who is now starting in the NFL had a bad game. This is strong evidence that this year's State team isn't that good.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:04 PM ^
Miss the point much? The point being that beating up on bad teams means nothing. Do you think TCU beating up on SMU makes them great?
September 27th, 2014 at 1:08 PM ^
No, the fact that they are pretty great makes them great.
Why bring up Cousins at all? Seems fairly tangential to your point.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:10 PM ^
Great teams don't get run off the field like they did against Oregon. MSU has done nothing this year to show they are great. And neither has Baylor or many other teams.

an awful lot of time ripping on MSU and it players on every one of these threads. Why do you care that much?
September 27th, 2014 at 12:59 PM ^
I don't recall any of Dantonio's early teams being so thoroughly outclassed like Michigan has been already twice this year. And in his fourth year, he won a B1G co-championship. This is Hoke'd fourth year.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:03 PM ^
And your point?
Michigan has just as much of a chance to win the B10C as anyone else does right now. You're assuming a lot. I know a lot of MSU guys that were ready to run Dantonio and Narduzzi out of town.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:05 PM ^
I'm making a pretty safe assumption.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:13 PM ^
No you're not. You're making a pathetically pessimistic assumtion. You're entitled to do so should you choose, but I think it's laughable. Overcoming adversity and maintaining a positive attitude is very important in life -- but maybe they're not teaching these skills anymore now that we have Twitter and SnapChat.
September 27th, 2014 at 1:18 PM ^
Would I also be making a pathetically pessimistic assumption if I assumed that Vanderbilt is not winning the SEC this year? Would you find that laughable as well?
September 27th, 2014 at 12:48 PM ^
Pick six Purdue. Purdue leads Iowa 10-0.
BIG TEHHHHHHHHHHN WEST!
September 27th, 2014 at 12:49 PM ^
MSU 28 pts 1 minute into the 2nd. 4 drives, 4 TDs. Baylor would be proud.
September 27th, 2014 at 12:49 PM ^
is making PSU look like Michigan.
