Graham Glasgow ordered not to drink
Graham Glasgow has been ordered by a judge not to drink while out on bond:

His pretrial was postponed on his attorney's request.
That's as harsh a punishment as anything else, especially as a college student.
That is pretty standard when someone is out on bond for OWI.
It happens every time. Presuming he pleads to a lesser charge (Impaired Driving), he will likely be placed on Probation where more rules will be in place during period of Probation. Courts take these Orders seriously. Rermember Stonum?
yep pretty standard across most states
this is not THAT hard, especially for a highly trained athlete who is trying to compete at the highest levels of college sports. If he's working out as he should be, this is not that big of a deal. I work out up to 9 times a week, including one rest day, and I don't miss it if I don't drink, and I LOVE beer. Love, love LOVE beer.
He can do this.
i know drinking is different than smoking weed, but look how many players can't give that up even when they see--regardless of fairness--the costs of being caught smoking weed.
He's early 20s at the most? How dependent, if he's a big time athlete, could he have gotten on either of those substances?
Completely dependent.
There are plenty of teenage alcoholics and probably even more who are in their early 20's.
but how many of them are big time college athletes right now? Not that many, I would imagine.
some of the biggest partiers on campus are on the football team...
If he is seen in the vicinity of marijuana, then they murder his family. The NCAA is not concerned with driving around loaded. They might just slap his old pig around a bit and suspend him for a quarter.
My biggest concern with his family being murdered is how it affects our depth at nose tackle.
can you give us a roster on the glasgow household to see that impact? any women we should be recruiting there?
In my experience, the women sharing the genes of guys who are 6'6" and 300 lbs. aren't worth recruiting unless you're a fan of softball player bodies.
I'll be rooting for the guy.
Well considering the circumstances it is hardly an outlandish request that he not drink while pending a hearing for an alcohol related offense....
I was on probation for a DUI when I was in college and 19. I made it two years without drinking and that included not drinking on my 21st birthday. If you want to avoid more trouble it's not that hard. Just avoid people that aren't going to support you.
if you are a Canadian. But I am impressed that you didn't drink on your 21st.
It was tough, but just didnt' make a big deal out of it. Now my 22nd birthday....that's a different story.
How did you get this pic of Mitch?
I think it's actually Reggie Ledoux.
DUI is a pretty big red flag.
never find out than if we knew.
I'll bet he gets suspended from playing in the first game. He may also miss a spring practice, but that's just a guess.
for cavorting with cats? This is of critical importance.
Unfortunate that we see a bottle of vodak in the background of the funny cat picture.
I'm cooperatin'!!!
Vodak?
All the cool kids say vodak now. You're cool aren't you?
That's not vodak, it's gni.
to see who parties with booze on campus. Beer pongs tables on the front lawn of players are always a good indicator ; )
I'd have to have a drink to deal with the stress of not drinking.
to stop huffing glue
He will need to find thousands of calories every week from someplace. South Quad cafeteria look out.
To go out with Graham every night and drink all of the beer for him. I would offer to pay for it, but alas, that would be a violation. Sorry, Graham, you will need to buy. Oh, and I like imports.
Yes, I am a giver. A people person, really.
with a 12 inch man on his shoulder. Bartender asks, "Hey, what gives..." The guy says, "I found an old bottle and rubbed it, a little Genie came out and granted me three wishes. My first wish is I asked for the biggest house in the world, which he granted me. Next I asked for all the money in the world, which he granted." Then the bartender asks, "So, what was your third wish?" The guy says, "I wished for a 12 inch prick."
The pain is just starting. After he gets sentenced he will most likely have to ---
-stay off the sauce
-Do testing to verify he is off the sauce and drugs
-Attend AA meeting
-Do community service.
-He may still be doing steps at the big house. I hope Coach Hoke has kept that tradition going.
-Plus ??????
-Don't forget the fees, courts costs, etc.
That's a really one-sided view of AA/NA. On the flip side, it's actually quite detrimental to AA/NA to be harboring a bunch of court-mandated boozers/users when the voluntary members are best-suited to stay away from boozers/users. Also, pushing people involuntarily to such groups completely conflicts with the premise of AA/getting clean in general: you have to actually want to change.
