Big Ten Women's Hoops Semifinal Vs. Iowa
Iowa's offense go brrrrrr as per usual. Almost feel like your best shot is to take away the other players and hope Clark has a bad shooting day like she did yesterday.
Michigan's shooting well early, led by Lauren Hansen. Down 1 midway through the first quarter.
Let’s go Michigan!
Let's Go Blue!
Early it seemed like it was going to be one of those games: Laila got called for a bullshit charge on her very first drive. Then Clark takes a long three, it hits the back of the rim, the front of the rim, bounces way high then drops in.
However, we've built a lead despite giving up some easy baskets.
In review, it's been one of those games. Complete bs.
25-17 Michigan with 1:53 inn the first
6/6 from 3 en fuego
25-22 Michigan after one. 6/6 from three (plus a foul on a seventh and Hobbs made all three free throws) the key.
Michigan is doing a good job of forcing Clark to give up the ball, but she is absolutely killing us with her passing.
Seems like that was the plan, but she ended up getting an asinine number of assists.
Key to victory: hit all our 3s?
Michigan is 7 for 7 from 3.
She's at 10 points and 9 assists already.
Our D is brutal. And maybe shadow guard Clark?
Iowa bitching on every call
Refs certainly doing their part to ensure Clark plays again tomorrow
The Fix is in!
Hobbs & Hansen playing lights out, but GD Goat is too
Staying in contact despite Clark being peak Clark.
Iowa is getting away with murder with the no calls. Double hop before the 3 pt shot should have been called.
Been doing it all year and called on anyone else.
4 fouls on Brett now. Two of them were phantom calls.
Every shot in the paint has been short for most of the game. 3s are starting to cool off. Need to creep back.
I think it’s bourbon time.
Iowa with Clark feels like Purdue with Edey, where they can win a ton of games but I can't see them being able to hang on against teams that can sort of match their stars' production because the rest of the team is limited.
UM doesn't have the horses to keep up with Iowa (I suspect they burned out a lot of effort coming back against IU last game), but the Hawkeyes look weak enough that I can't see them winning a championship.
They were in the national title game last year with most of this roster (Czinano is a big loss, but a number of players have made giant leaps).
And were on the bad end of terrible officiating (like M is today).
The refs have been horrible all year!
You beat Iowa by taking the rock hard to the rack & drawing fouls, taking lots of FT's. So far we're missing a bunch of close 2's because we're going up hesitant. Take it into their body, force the zeebs to make a call.
Also need a Laila heater about now.
You don’t want the “zeebs” making calls when Clark is on the court.
That’s what shitty officiating does to teams. You’re hesitant because you know how the game’s being called.
This crew got the Goat for 2 early push off calls. But theyve been falling for the Iowa flops too. Would have liked the crew that did the Maryland - Nebraska game. We had them in yesterdays IU game.
Really looks like a team that's played three games in three days and had to spend a ton of energy yesterday. On top of Iowa being really, really good.
correct. playing at 4:30 after back-to-backs ending after 11 was a tough draw. all the more reason to be better during the season to get that additional bye.
and iowa can be got, but we’re just not quite good enough to beat them without playing a near-perfect game.
Agree UM looks tired. And Iowa has no chance against more athletic teams in back to backs during the big dance.
Frustrating to see the majority of Iowa shots are wide open looks. Goat factor making her teammates look like pros. And these refs are buying Iowa flops...BS
Iowa really feels like if Beilein had Steph Curry.
