One less job for Harbaugh to interview.
Fewer indeed. But how does Harbaugh interview a job anyway?
January 17th, 2024 at 11:09 PM ^
Job is old testament. That guy has been gone a while.
January 18th, 2024 at 7:20 AM ^
I read Job freshman year at UM. It was one of the Great Books required as part of the Engineering English requirement. I was very surprised that it was included at the time. Looking back , I am glad that it was included along with so many other requirements that made the whole of the UM experience a challenging and fantastic learning experience that I will forever treasure.

It's Dallas. It's definitely lesser.
January 17th, 2024 at 11:50 PM ^
There is nothing wrong with using "less" in this context. "Fewer" is generally used in the case of countable items, but need only be used when these items are actually plural.
"Two fewer coaching positions"
"One less coaching position"

Thanks for that.
BTW for the longest time The CMOS - the go-to style manual for most publishing (alongside the AP Press Stylebook for news) - was printed at Edwards Brothers printing in Ann Arbor.

January 17th, 2024 at 8:54 PM ^
what does it mean to be -500?
January 17th, 2024 at 8:55 PM ^
5 to 1 favorite, basically. Bet 500 to win 600, for a profit of 100.
January 17th, 2024 at 9:09 PM ^
in other words, it is like the least likely of the alternatives presented, right?
January 17th, 2024 at 9:25 PM ^
no it's by far the most likely, per Vegas
January 17th, 2024 at 9:26 PM ^
mostly likely of the alternatives to become the Chargers HC
Odds are no bueno for M
January 17th, 2024 at 10:41 PM ^
Eric Bieniemy would be such a home run hire for the Chargers.
January 18th, 2024 at 8:54 AM ^
Are talking about the same Eric Bieniemy that took the putrid Commanders offense which ranked 23rd overall in the NFL in 2022 to....(checks notes)........
24th overall in 2023?
That guy?
January 18th, 2024 at 11:11 AM ^
Yes, correct. The same Eric Bieniemy who played for the Chargers at the beginning of his career, led multiple offenses among the best in the league, and was a key name in head coaching searches for the better part of the last 3 years.
If you're gonna cherrypick, at least make it interesting.
January 18th, 2024 at 6:34 AM ^
-500 is bet 500 to win 100. That would be a heavy favorite.
+500 is bet $100 to win $500. An underdog.
January 17th, 2024 at 8:55 PM ^
bet 500 to win 100
it was -500 to stay at M just a few days ago (Sunday I think)
January 17th, 2024 at 8:54 PM ^
I'm surprised Vrabel is so far down on the list. I also would be surprised if Belichick coaches again.
January 17th, 2024 at 9:14 PM ^
Belichick is definitely coaching again he’s within punching distance of the all time wins over Shula. Needs like 1-2 more good seasons to pass the mark
January 17th, 2024 at 9:34 PM ^
Needs like 1-2 more good seasons to pass the mark
How's he going to get that? A team would have to be desperate to hire him and that means they probably have the talent that = non-Brady Belichick, not Brady era Belichick. Dude won 4 games this year.
January 17th, 2024 at 10:43 PM ^
Belichick is still a really good defensive coach. But his personnel decisions got increasingly bad over the last 5-10 years and his coaching hires became just his buddies and not for competency.
If you can get him to just coach and not have total control he can still win a bunch of games, I think.
January 18th, 2024 at 10:24 AM ^
The man made Matt Patricia is OC. I would require a competency check before I hire him.
January 18th, 2024 at 12:18 AM ^
He’s only 15 games back. With 17 games a season, if he goes 8-9 for two seasons, he breaks the record. He only needs to achieve two mediocre seasons. My guess is that he will pick a team that is not in total rebuild (ie not Carolina).
January 17th, 2024 at 10:15 PM ^
I think Vrabel will take a year off and wait to see if Ryan Day gets fired. He may be eyeing the OSU job
January 18th, 2024 at 8:31 AM ^
BOOOO!!!!!!
January 18th, 2024 at 8:50 AM ^
On Rich Eisen the other day, Taylor Lewan said that Vrabel told him he would never coach college. If that’s his position I could see him changing his mind if no one wanted him for an NFL job, but I find it hard to believe that a team wouldn’t take him. He did quite well at Tennessee and he never had a QB.
January 17th, 2024 at 8:58 PM ^
Meaning if you bet $500 on Harbaugh being the next charger coach you win $100. He is a massive favorite to land the job according to those odds.
January 18th, 2024 at 12:04 PM ^
Going to bet the $500 to guarantee it doesn't happen. Leveraging my bad luck for the benefit of M football
You're welcome
