Any word if they are putting out a season Blu-ray?
For those that were not around or aware after the 97 championship someone put out a VHS with booklet box set so I'm hoping someone is going to do something similar this time around. Has anyone seen or heard if the school or mden is making a set?
Does anyone still have their 97 box set??

I'm going to hold out for the Betamax version.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:59 PM ^
Too soon. My dad was the one guy who insisted that betamax was better. We envied our friends every time we went to the video rental store and there was nothing for us to rent
January 15th, 2024 at 4:17 PM ^
FWIW, Betamax was technically better.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:24 PM ^
It didn't work in the home video market but dominated the commercial professional side.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:37 PM ^
I enjoyed the laserdisc better than Betamax
January 15th, 2024 at 4:44 PM ^
No lie, my dad had both
January 17th, 2024 at 12:03 AM ^
Memory unlocked!
No betamax here, but MY dad had Laserdisc and CDi! I played some western shooting game called Mad Dog Mcree on it and watched top gun. Those were the days.
January 15th, 2024 at 5:56 PM ^
I still have some LaserDiscs in my basement with a player made by Pioneer.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:12 PM ^
No way... Gotta wait for the ViewMaster version. It's 3D!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:35 PM ^
Would put in for it but only if it's available exclusively on VHS again
January 15th, 2024 at 3:38 PM ^
I've been saving my VCR that has a remote attached to it with a cord for this very reason.
January 15th, 2024 at 5:35 PM ^
Had one of these, our family’s first VCR from early 80’s. Lasted 20 years even after ‘that friend who always helps you move’ dropped it on the pavement. And I was always the only one who knew how to program it. Or set the clock. Fun memories.

Given the turn away from physical media (don't think MDen even sells CDs/DVDs anymore except what's moldering in the clearance racks) and the general irrelevance of whatever they do for a coaches' show now, my guess is what's on YouTube is what you've got.
I loved those old Michigan Replay season VHS/DVDs back in the day, still have a stack of them. The various '97 ones were all great (I think the News/Freep did the big one that came in the huge plastic clamshell box?). Bummer that's not a thing anymore.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:47 PM ^
Physical media is still very relevant. New realease dvds have hundreds of holds at local libraries as we speak.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:20 PM ^
Sure, libraries will always be a thing. But when you have major retailers like Best Buy eliminating DVD sections and there are major TV shows that will never have a physical release, the writing remains on the wall.
I like physical media, too, but that doesn't mean it's commercially viable for video content in 2024. Especially for something like sports highlights.
January 15th, 2024 at 8:47 PM ^
Just DVDs? Half of our Best Buy was converted into a warehouse. The big box is getting smaller and smaller.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:38 PM ^
When the "2024 UM Season in Review" cyclorama is finished, I will be there. Nothing brings beloved memories to life quite like a good cyclorama.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:50 PM ^
I like your optimism for next season!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:39 PM ^
I think I read that Netflix will be offering it on Blu-ray as part of the their monthly subscription delivery service.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:39 PM ^
I'd love something like this.
I'd also love to see a post-season Hail to the Victors (which Seth and/or Brian may have discussed/dismissed already, but if they did I missed it in my championship hangover).
January 15th, 2024 at 3:49 PM ^
Brian tweeted out that they might do exactly that.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:40 PM ^
Found the poster older than me.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:42 PM ^
I'm holding out for the JUB book and 30 for 30 about the "scandal".
January 15th, 2024 at 3:43 PM ^
Holding out for the Laser Disc!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:44 PM ^
I hope not. I went with the digital-only edition of my PS5 because I was pretty sure Blueray wouldn't make it to PS6.
January 15th, 2024 at 5:50 PM ^
Best Buy sells the ps5 disc drive as a separate piece for $75. You're all set.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:45 PM ^
Plenty of highlight reels on YouTube. Frankly, I could do without any commentary you’d likely get on a commemorative video. Just football highlights, please.
January 15th, 2024 at 5:38 PM ^
Great idea, YT playlist of parkinggod game highlights, then I can autoplay on loop.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:46 PM ^
Does anyone still have a VCR?
January 15th, 2024 at 3:52 PM ^
Does a dvd vcr combo count lol ? Still have all my vcr recordings of Meechigan victories during the Cooper years and a couple of victories over notre shame and of course the 1998 Rose Bowl !!!
January 15th, 2024 at 4:47 PM ^
I have 3, and at least one of them still works. How else am I supposed to watch all the Christmas movies and cartoons I recorded in the 80's?
I also have a working reel to reel player that I use once in a while.
January 15th, 2024 at 5:13 PM ^
Yes…it’s not hooked up to anything, but I still have it
January 15th, 2024 at 6:05 PM ^
Yep. VCR DVD combo!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:48 PM ^
Maybe they’ll put out a Film.
Get your projectors out!
January 15th, 2024 at 3:49 PM ^
Prefer Edison Cylinder
January 15th, 2024 at 3:50 PM ^
Sorry. They alternate, so it looks like they're only putting out a maize-ray this year.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:50 PM ^
Eadward Muybridge is going to be make a version. Should be a killer.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:53 PM ^
I do still have my 97 box set. I have no way to play it anymore, but I am keeping it until VHS makes a retro comeback.
January 15th, 2024 at 3:55 PM ^
Probably not, because this isn't 2007.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:11 PM ^
Yes because Blu-ray doesn't exist anymore 🤷
January 15th, 2024 at 4:05 PM ^
Maybe a sweet mix tape of the bands biggest hits?
January 15th, 2024 at 4:14 PM ^
What year is it?
January 15th, 2024 at 4:38 PM ^
The year 30-24
January 15th, 2024 at 8:50 PM ^
Mmmm a good graffiti idea for a campus over on High Street.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:19 PM ^
Where we're going we don't need roads.
January 15th, 2024 at 4:23 PM ^
Who uses Blu-ray anymore?
January 15th, 2024 at 7:10 PM ^
Nooooobody!
January 15th, 2024 at 4:23 PM ^
I have a set of 8 track tapes with all of the audio.
If anyone to borrow them to synch with their video recording - let me know.
