Amorion Walker To The Portal
Best of luck to another champion for life.

Our cb of the future? Did someone beat him out?
January 11th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
No, at least not yet.
Although it definitely wasn't his job and he was far from a "shoe in" with Waller and Hill in this mix + Michigan looking at the portal.
Also, wait...does Josh Wallace have eligibility? That would be huge if he's coming back.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
Josh Wallace is out of eligibility.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
Correct. Just double checked.
Yeah, we are LIGHT at CB. Definitely need some Portal help to add to the competition opposite Johnson.
Even if it's an FCS guy with a bunch of experience. We need a "floor," like Wallace this year and Green last year.
January 11th, 2024 at 8:56 PM ^
Wallace was better then Green I thought. I think he will get drafted in the later rounds.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:09 PM ^
They are trying to keep him
January 11th, 2024 at 6:58 PM ^
Shit. Really think we will miss him next year.
Best of luck to him. Anyone on this team can do anything they want and none of us get to give them shit. Michigan National Champion forever.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:07 PM ^
Our defensive backfield squeezes life out of every offense yet 5* CBs are lining up to play for 3rd base. Hmmmmm.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:40 PM ^
Kids watching Denzel Burke fall down draft boards and say yeah that’s where I want to go. There is a reason why he stayed.
January 11th, 2024 at 8:21 PM ^
You can get paid a bunch of money as a recruit and still get drafted, it’s not rocket science why 5 stars are going elsewhere
January 11th, 2024 at 7:13 PM ^
His measurables may be off the charts, but he was getting mossed by O' Leary in the spring game.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:46 PM ^
That was after like 2 weeks of playing cb. The guy was always a project w tons of potential
January 12th, 2024 at 8:52 AM ^
True. But maybe after a full year, he is still a guy that is a project w tons of potential. I have to believe if the coaches really wanted him and playing time was there, he would not be transfering. Their is a reason 'Those Who Transfer'
January 11th, 2024 at 10:08 PM ^
Shit. Exactly my reaction. We need him. He had such outstanding potential.
January 11th, 2024 at 6:58 PM ^
That’s too bad. I know they talked about his measurables being off the charts, too bad he couldn’t catch onto the position. Will be interesting to see how he develops elsewhere.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
My thoughts exactly.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:08 PM ^
I’m not sure he had the instincts for route running and I’m not sure he had the instincts for Minter’s defense.
January 11th, 2024 at 8:20 PM ^
I was hoping we switched him back to offense this Summer.
January 11th, 2024 at 8:24 PM ^
Same. Wish they had sold him on being a major WR contributor.
January 11th, 2024 at 6:58 PM ^
another guy who Sam Webb talked about for months before we flipped him from ND. Big loss I think. Projected starting CB in '24. No doubt NIL $$$$ playing a big role.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
We will see it play out - with Johnson and McBurrows, Pollard, Hill, Harris all seeing time in front of him, I'm not sure he was the projected starter - he also might have just preferred playing offense and wanted to find a place. Totally understand and support players trying to find the fit that's best for them and being empowered - I think that might be even more of a positive change than just the NIL they hopefully can capitalize on.
January 11th, 2024 at 8:15 PM ^
Don't forget Brandyn Hillman who came from ND. Tremendous athletic ability with good size.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:04 PM ^
We’ll see where he lands but I believe he’s struggled mightily with homesickness.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:04 PM ^
Starter?? Where? He wasn't starting here next year.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:08 PM ^
Who is paying a kid who’s never played a snap in college a bunch of money? Wild reaching if so…seriously doubt that
January 11th, 2024 at 7:10 PM ^
He’s definitely played snaps, but not enough for a payout probably.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:13 PM ^
Miami, Texas AM, and other loser schools who learn nothing.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:17 PM ^
I chatted with Momma Bredeson in H-town. You'd be surprised at the $$$ out there for non-starters.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:13 PM ^
Big loss?
We shall see but I doubt he would be leaving if coaches were telling him he was in line for playing time next year.
Sometimes we get enamored with measurable and forget you need a kid the knows how to play football.
Mikey Sainrstil for example.
or Wallace had quite a year for a CB not too big or fast who should have been picked on all year based on where you might hope to target this defense.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:19 PM ^
He was not a projected starter. Hill and Waller were definitely ahead of him.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:31 PM ^
Speaking of Sam, this interview ("Michigan CB Amorion Walker ready to earn starting role in 2024") didn't age well:
To be clear, I'm not criticizing Sam, just thought it was funny that this interview transpired less than two weeks ago. Apparently, the "starting role" was with some other program.
January 11th, 2024 at 9:00 PM ^
I was going to post the same thing because I saw it just last week and it was a new article. Thought for sure he would be starting at CB in 24. But he wasn't ranked that high for a reason.
January 11th, 2024 at 6:59 PM ^
Heck of an athlete. I wish it had worked out.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
no comprendo but do what you gotta do
January 11th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
What the hell is the point of Ron Bellamy? We've used the exact same recievers since 2021 and haven't developed anyone behind them. We've lost Anthony, who had a great year for Oklahoma. Now we lose Clemmons and Walker, and we're supposed to rely on last year's class of sub 6 foot guys? I know we don't throw the ball much, but why would JJ want to come back to throw to next year's receiver room?
January 11th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
And this reaction ladies and gentlemen is why Harbaugh should leave while on top. The Ann Arbor Pitch and Fork crew will be out in full force the first sign things go south.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:06 PM ^
Trolling so hard doesn't even know Walker is a corner now.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:11 PM ^
Or how to spell Clemons, or that the receivers have not been the same since ‘21.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:07 PM ^
Bellamy aside, UM accomplished quite a bit this year without a wide receiver [1] jump ball to a WR whose purpose in life is to snag jump balls. "CoJo" was more often diving toward the ground to get JJ's special passes of that type.
You can get a lot done with a bunch of receivers under 6'0".
[1] Loveland is excluded from the analysis. Did you know he'll be back next year? :)
January 11th, 2024 at 7:14 PM ^
There's just no way that a Michigan team without a huge jump-ball WR is going to see any kind of success. It definitely won't win three straight B1G championships and a national championship. It will never be able to compete with Ohio State, let alone Alabama. There's just no path to winning for a team without that particular piece.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:51 PM ^
Like Vince Lombardi used to say, if you can’t jump ball you ain’t shit!
January 11th, 2024 at 7:14 PM ^
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP COACH is the Point.
Harbaugh was never gonna throw a Jump Ball to a receiver anyway (see Collins, Nico)
We had receivers good enough for a 'Ship so DON'T CARE
January 11th, 2024 at 8:19 PM ^
Yeah, those receivers are leaving. You need to replace them.
January 11th, 2024 at 7:57 PM ^
Our coaches are so bad yet they are better than anyone else this year! Enjoy the moment friends. No one can ever take it away from us. Go Blue!
January 11th, 2024 at 7:58 PM ^
Anthony only played three games idiot!!!
January 11th, 2024 at 8:21 PM ^
Not sure why this is getting negged. It's pretty clear that WR recruiting has been by far the weakest point for us. That's on Bellamy.
January 11th, 2024 at 8:32 PM ^
You cannot just make shit up!!! Andrel Anthony didn't even play the whole season! Is that too on Bellamy???
January 11th, 2024 at 10:04 PM ^
I think it’s the tone and the context — coming off a national championship, why complain about anything, even if it is sort of a cause for future concern?
I am also a bit frustrated about WR recruitment, but it’s obvious as to why things have slowed down there. Michigan just doesn’t feature wideouts in the offense at great volume. I wish Clemons would come back, because I figure he could win a starting spot if he were to make a leap, but I get it too. He probably wants to play where he’ll get more than five targets a game if he starts to play well. Things are what they are… but also, you know, as it turns out, things are currently awesome!
January 11th, 2024 at 8:39 PM ^
Holy shit its Thursday and we wont a NC Monday.
Jesus.
January 11th, 2024 at 9:03 PM ^
Walker was a CB not a WR. So make no sense. He was a project coming in with no set position. Now with DC if he couldn't get playing time this year that was on him. We played young guys but he wasn't one of. The best
