Gorgeous Borges explains to Sam why "Michigan outscored Ohio State by more than 6 points"
Start around 12:30 (Borges arrived late to the studio):

Borges is as excited about the M win as any of us are. He goes through the progression of defenses Ohio called and the progression of calls by M on offense....the usual Borges stuff. But I enjoyed it thoroughly and perhaps you might as well.

I really like hearing Borges discussing this stuff. I think he does a great job with it.

His sitdowns with Heiko are some of the greatest stuff in MGoBlog history.

We're spoiled with his breakdowns. Helps me really understand the game better. Sick of experts saying generalized things like "they should have thrown more".

It was a good episode of the show.
He even goes into the word OSU doesn't want to hear, "toughness".

Borges bounced around to a lot of schools. It's interesting that he ended up settling down in Ann Arbor.

Well, we all know it's a great place to live.

For one, he's around tree enthusiasts rather than tree poisoners.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:11 PM ^
It really is, especially when he spent so much time on West Coast and in south. He's a celebrity in Ann Arbor and that goes a long way.

Hilarious thing from Borges later on for those who care to listen, regarding Urban (quoting but may be a slight paraphrase):
"Urban wanted to run the quarterback in every crucial situation. I heard him say those exact words. But if Kyle McCord raced a pregnant woman, he'd come in third."
Also: "Ohio State receivers do not block and will not block."
Struck me funny. Carry on.
November 28th, 2023 at 5:11 PM ^
He also said "Ryan day is the antithesis of Urban Meyer as a coach." The question was why couldn't Day do just what Urban did?
November 28th, 2023 at 5:12 PM ^
That is a great line.

Just to make sure I understand the technicalities here, this means the fetus wins the race, right? Unless the lady is running backwards.
November 28th, 2023 at 5:31 PM ^
Nope, the woman crosses the goal line with possession of the fetus. She wins.
November 28th, 2023 at 5:43 PM ^
Because a tie goes to the runner. Obviously.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
Exactly. It doesn't matter if Denzel Burke takes the fetus after she crosses the line.
November 28th, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
You forgot 'if McCord ran through a car wash he'd drown'.
November 28th, 2023 at 6:29 PM ^
It's interesting on the receivers not willing block. Go back and watch Will Johnson's pick in the 1st Qtr. Maserati Marv just stood there and watched Will run it down to the 7 yard line. He literally had zero intention of getting involved in the play. That spoke volumes.
November 28th, 2023 at 6:47 PM ^
And the final interception. He made no effort for the ball what so ever!
November 28th, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
Blocking requires toughness.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
I made this comment about Harrison the other day and someone chided me, but he didn't fight to break up that interception. It was like 'this isn't my job.'
I also had the same insight Borges does when I watched the replay. Not only were there at least three places where the game could have broken open bigger for Michigan, but we controlled the narrative from jump. Day was reacting, and not always with aplomb. The OSU fans talking about how the close score proves we were cheating are not close watchers of the game.

Any indigestion and throat clearing? If not, no thanks, I’ll pass.

Michigan outscored OSU by exactly 6 points. I can explain this to Al if needed.

Must be nice to be let go from a program and still be called Gorgeous.

It's a fun listen.
