All the best Zak. Get well soon.

As a Michigan fan watching a team get ready to play an SEC defense in the playoff this hurts. As a Zinter fan hoping to see a senior play in his third playoff and finally win it hurts. As a Lions fan with a team in need of a guard on a rookie deal to replace the very good but injury prone buckeye Jonah Jackson, wouldn't hate if this injury causes him to fall to them in the late second or early third so they can get another all pro on the OLine.

Thank you, Zak. Michigan wouldn't be here without you.

Rest up and get yourself ready for the draft, big man

I didn’t see him get hurt live, and do not want to watch the replay. But for anyone that saw it, was it an innocent fall or did it look more graphic?

Fox didn't show a replay of the injury, but they said his leg was rolled up on. I didn't get the impression from the teams reaction that it was a dirty play, just bad circumstances when large people get tangled up with each other.

Another michigan player blocked an osu player onto the side of his left leg. All the lineman wear braces to protect their knees. Didn’t really see the leg itself but from what I saw it broke a little below the bottom of the brace.
his mom apparently tweeted he’s already in surgery or had the surgery.

Zak just tweeted that the surgery went great. Awesome photo of Zak in recovery with his parents and Coach Harbaugh. Great news indeed. Don’t know how to embed tweets from my mobile.

Oh no I didn’t mean it as a dirty I hit, I meant it as was it hard to watch- like where the leg snaps sideways or something. I’ve had knee injuries from hockey and hate to see other people have big injuries like that

Yes, it snapped sideways, the break looking to be about half way between knee and ankle.
However, as many pointed out, breaking bones is usually a lot better than breaking ligaments, joints, tendons. Better as in bones heal faster and are very likely to be totally fine afterwards.

Got rolled up on. I was at the game and you could tell his Michigan career was over as soon as you saw his leg. Gruesome. Sucks so bad for him, hope he makes a full recovery.

I broke my tib & fib playing adult league hockey going into the boards feet first. Doctors will tell you that the bones heal up stronger than they were originally. And I've had no problems, other than some minor nerve damage due to displacement/separation between the foot & fib. Heal up & come back stronger than you were Zach!

Same happened to me. A plate and some screws put it together, and it all healed up fine. I went back to playing hockey, and that ankle works just fine.

Hope he recovers quickly. As we learned with Jake Butt, teams carry insurance for players whose draft stock slides due to injury. I hope there’s some $ to help him out if his NFL career gets delayed.

Broken bones grow back stronger. He is just leveling up for what hopes to be a long, successful NFL career. Thanks for giving us your all, 65.

Zak is a tough SOB, he'll probably break the other leg just so he can get a matched set.
Get healthy, get paid young man!
