6'2 Guard. Looks to be a very good shooter.
3.76 GPA and 1320 SAT per his twitter
Am I supposed to be excited about this? Sure feels like the program has fallen on hard times..........
Decide at your own risk.
We hear practically nothing regarding basketball recruiting.
This is something.
To play... This year? Are we still putting a roster together in August?
Yes, available immediately.
3 years of eligibility.
I mean his stats from his freshman year are absurdly good. If if they come down, that's still a lot of potential
If we’re citing the GPA of basketball recruits, something is very wrong.
Well. Kinda. The fact that we have a tough time bringing in transfers (non grad transfers) due to academics, signifying the GPA may help when describing these types of transfers.
It’s more about having classes not transfer and falling behind schedule towards a degree yes?
That only applies to transfers with a >50% of a degree completed at their school. Hausmann had no issue. Love, Shannon, and some others were like 80% done with their degree and were trying to get into Michigan and were denied
They weren’t denied

Yeah, denied a seemless transfer credit wise is more accurate
This is what happens after you spend a month not recruiting anyone thinking love was getting in despite the coaches having no idea if he'd be admitted.
Maybe have some backup plans in motion instead of doing nothing during that time.
It's not like Love was coming from a nothing school. UNC is a respected institution. Anyone would assume his credits would transfer. Including you.
Everyone loves to say Juwan should have known or should have had a backup plan. I didn't hear a word from anyone on this entire board when the transfer was first announced about either of those options. Stop looking for things to be negative about. It's not good for anyone, including ourselves.
Pretty much all Franz does is look for the negative.
When we hear about a transfer that's exactly what we should see first, Sat's and Gpa's. Because here at Michigan basketball doesn't work like other sports. We deny transfers on a wholesale basis.
This whole idea that admissions hates basketball is ridiculous.
Somehow Michigan got Henderson despite him needing to sit in an Ann Arbor apartment finishing classes to graduate. All on his own dime.
Caleb Love was never getting admitted here. He never even graduated and decommitted the day spring classes started.
The whole plan hinged on him coming as a grad transfer after 3 years, except he never graduated and had no interest in taking the required classes to graduate. Him choosing that day wasn't random. It was literally the day spring classes started.
Martelli even said in an interview that they were calling admissions every day and knew the whole thing was very iffy.
Kante couldn't get a qualifying TOEFL score. So in the year we recruited him, he had multiple chances to get that score and couldn't.
How often is football losing transfers to admissions?
Maybe the vetting process needs to be improved when the same mistakes are made over and over.
It isn't admissions, it is this staff who wastes time on guys that aren't getting in.
I thought we didn’t deny the transfers, just denied their credits from transferring. Could still be the case here.
Correct. Dudes could transfer in, but without several classes/credits counting. Not an attractive option for guys not destined for the pros. It is less of a problem for freshmen classes (your garden-variety intro classes are easier to transfer).
Let it be known that many athletes are willing to put the work in the gym but not in the class room.
Franz, to post a link, click on the icon (at the top of the Comment box) that looks like a link in a chain.
I admire your persistence in educating the masses as to how to post links here. Makes me crack a smile when I see the bolded and italicized link.
Am I the Link-on Lawyer?
I'm just paying it forward. A long time ago, I didn't know how to do it, couldn't figure it out, and didn't want to look ignorant.
Though of course I was literally ignorant of this particular function.
But then someone replied to a post of mine that mentioned links, and that kind person—wish I could remember who—explained it.
Stupid ain't good but ignorance—not knowing how to do a specific thing—is fixable.
As most have probably guessed, NIC is a community college. It's located in the Idaho panhandle's "big city," Coeur d'Alene.
Campbell is from Puyallup, WA and was off the map as a HS recruit.

Appears he was out injured much of his junior and senior seasons. Dad was his high school coach.

I believe you are wrong. He played very well his junior year being the teams best player and was named "all area" for his upcoming senior season. His dad said he missed the off seasons after his sophmore and junior seasons, the former because of injuries and the latter because of the covid shutdown. He then transferred to a prep school with his dad to coach. After that I don't really know.
Pffft. My daughter scored higher on the SAT, but she’s not a good shooter.
If we're using SAT scores then I have a shot to make the squad /s
We gotta add some guys at this point. What's the scholarship number right now?
What is this “basket ball” of which you type?

Something fans used to be interested in.

Take a peach basket and nail it to a telephone pole. Take turns trying to throw a ball into the basket. The game ends when someone is able to get the ball into the basket. (Unless someone has a ladder and is able to retrieve the ball.)

Hey, over 50% from three in over 5 shots per game, why the hell not?

I would love to hear the backstory of how they found this guy.
I think they still have two spots open, right? Need bodies, wherever they're from.
For the amount of people complaining about OP posting his academics, I'm kinda shocked no one has posted his freshman year stats, which were pretty crazy:
GP: 20 PPG:16.9 FG%: 54.3 3PT%: 52.4 FT%: 82.4 RPG: 3.3 APG: 2.8Shooting 52% from 3 at any level is worth a look
