LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A new state law allows alcoholic drinks to be sold at college sporting events in Michigan.

“Authorizing the legal sale of alcohol at sporting events will bring us on equal footing with other universities, help reduce the likelihood of binge drinking before games, and bring in a heck of a lot more revenue that we can use to improve the student experience,” Whitmer said in a statement.

Or now can binge drink before game and keep the buzz going!

That's fine and dandy but I won't partake.

I like going in with a perfect 4ish beer buzz, abstaining and never leaving my seat, then going out sober ready for that sweet second wind on a college football Saturday.

I assumed what jkello did, that selling alcohol would lead to more problems but as the article and the quoted portion suggest, binge drinking goes down if people know they can get drunk at the game.

Live & learn.

Or binge & repeat.

Maybe I missed this point, but alcohol related arrests at Ohio State went down after they started selling beer in the stadium

if you don’t want to pay $15 for a beer or wait in line to piss, then don’t buy said $15 beer

I’m thinking there are quite a few alums that will drop $25 for a nice glass of Cab and not think twice about it

keep clutching your pearls for those of you that want to force your viewpoint on everyone else

Yeah - you are right and pure.   I get it.
