Nation’s No. 1 QB Bryce Underwood back at Michigan on Thursday
Nation’s No. 1 QB Bryce Underwood back at Michigan on Thursday.
"The Michigan Insider has confirmed Belleville (Mich.) 2025 five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood is taking an unofficial visit to Michigan on Thursday."
must be like $14 Uber ,to Ann Arbor from his house
I hope he somehow decides to commit. Not sure how the Jadyn commit is going to affect his decision though
I'd love for there to be a year where OSU has that issue and we don't (as opposed to how it is now, when they just stack up 4- and 5-stars).
It would be nice to get in a rhythm where we have 5 star QBs come in and redshirt and then play for a year and then start for two years and then get drafted in the 1st round.
And also we all get free kettle corn in the stadium.
We Can have Bryce things!

In other news, I asked Alexandra Daddario out on a date.
You miss all the shots you don't take.
Hope it works out for you. Iowa, not so much.
Geez, you'd think Iowa would be DFL on his list of schools with their dumpster fire offense.
Their pitch is pretty persuasive though. It boils down to him being the savior of the program should he go there.
BTW, you have better odds than Iowa does.
Love the Spike and Kate vibe.
Double post.
Also, the block was clean.
Unless he switches to LB, because being a QB @ Iowa is career suicide.
Underwood is reaching the point as a recruit where he’s been to campus probably 4-5 times and we should start to feel pretty good about him, but I still have very little hope
While a positive, these visits don't inspire a ton of confidence for me. Dante Moore came to campus a ton.
Dante Moore also apparently didn't like Matt Weiss. Staff seemed to be under some weird impression that that would change. Underwood and his father seem to love Campbell

Is Underwood that good or is it a case of peaking physically before everyone else and man among boys right now ?
He’s elite. Won two state titles as a freshman and sophomore. Belleville is a loaded team, but he’s thrown 76 TDs against just 7 interceptions as an underclassman (39:4 as a freshman!). That can’t be explained by early physical maturation.
If read between the lines of his dad’s comments, the hatred that they had for Weiss is so glaringly obvious.
Campbell has been killing it. Whether it’s Underwood or a couple of these other top 30 guys it feels like a spot where back to back classes will have elite qbs at the top of them.
Weiss may have been holding this team back more than we initially thought.
Campbell is beloved, but seems even better by comparison.
Jeez, what was the deal with Weiss?
That's GREAT!
Talking about QBs, Notre Dame's Tyler Buchner transferred to Bama and it appears that Arch Manning looked like crap during Texas' spring game.
Wow, who would've guessed that? I mean, a college true freshman who has been anointed the Almighty Savior of the program he chooses since he was...a wee child? I simply cannot believe he didn't throw for all the yards and all the touchdowns. And no veil torn? Shocking, I tell ya
Edit: to clarify, I'm not bashing the kid. I'm bashing anyone who is surprised at this. Give him a moment to take a breath, let alone finish his first semester, learn the playbook, get in the weight room...you know, all the experiences that allow a young player to not act so young.
He was the supposed #1 player in the country. I understand there's an adjustment period, but regardless he didn't remotely pass the eye test
Strange, I don’t remember hearing him claim he was the #1 player in the country. Well, what do I know

what are you saying

Quinn Ewers was the number 1 QB in nation, hell number 1 recruit and he doesn’t look like a world beater.
But his mullet is WORLD CLASS !
I was shocked by Arch in the Texas spring game. His arm strength looked… bad? And for the the #1 player in the country looked completely out of sorts in a scrimmage
Arch is good. But no where near #1, imo. That is all based on name recognition. Nico and Dante were way more impressive.
There are many recruiting analysts who say he’s a generic 3 star talent with a great last name.
The talk around Manning for a while was that he was obviously coached by a bunch of good QBs and had solid ability but played against really mediocre competition in HS and would have been a mid 4* kid if his name didn't end in "Manning". As expected, Texas overpaid for a decent player and will now spend years trying to convince everyone They're Back because of it.
Manning has ZERO NIL deals at this point.

The Mannings' need to be adored or be the Kennedys of CFB means they never go away even when they are well past prime.
Getting Underwood would be very nyce. Nyce indeed.
I see what you dyd there.
If schools like Alabama, Georgia, OSU, etc. can land 5* QB in back-to-back classes, Michigan should be able to do so!
I'd say that it's almost a necessity if you want to maintain your team's elite status.
Seriously.
We don’t need anymore gap years with stop-gap transfer QBs.
Load up, coach ‘em up, and then let the situation iron itself out en route to Championships year in and year out.
Problem is OSU and Bama have their 5-stars go to the NFL early so if you're the 2nd 5-star in that order, you have a pretty decent chance of competing for the starting spot with no incumbent by your junior year at the latest.
Michigan hasn't had a QB go early so if you're the 2nd QB in that order, you'll have to either beat that guy out or wait until your senior year to realistically start.

Alabama aside, ironically, Michigan has more success with current 1 current QB (Henne) compared to the vast QBs OSU has pumped out since Urban’s time. Hence, system QBs in college don’t work in the nfl
April 28th, 2023 at 10:14 AM ^
That's all fine and good, but Henne was a career back up from the Carr tenure. It has no bearing on recruits right now.
And in most cases, getting to the NFL is what really matters. Have OSU QBs panned out in the NFL? No. But they have sent 4 QBs to the NFL since the 2015 draft (Barrett was an UDFA IIRC so that would be 5 I guess if you count him). Michigan has had 1 drafted in that same timeframe.
So, if you're a recruit, getting to the NFL and getting that first paycheck is more likely to happen if you go to OSU.
Michigan hasn't had a 5* QBs go pro early because they haven't had any 5* QBs.
Almost any 5* QB over the past 15 years would've had a very strong chance of starting as a sophomore at Michigan...and then, had they performed as expected, would've gone pro after their second year of starting.
While it may cause some stress for '24, it would be great to see JJ perform at a level this year that sets him up as a sure-thing 1st round pick in next year's draft.
Best thing this kid could do is commit early to some school (hopefully us) and that would build a mega class that would light fools up to the tune of Voltron. Do you hear that Sparty? We are building a gigantic robot made of actual lions.
Underwood should not be scared off by Davis. Underwood is a level above as a QB prospect.
Underwood is not scared of anyone. He is a Robotic Outer-space Fuck Lion who was summoned to bring balance to a galaxy mmmkay?
It would be amazing to get Underwood. He seems like a future 1st round pick. I think Jadyn will be great in college but Underwood has big time NFL type potential.

They both do, I mean you did just watch the NFL draft tonight a QB that is 5’10 just went number 1 overall.
