2024 5* QB Jadyn Davis announcing decision on March 31st
This source is a local Charlotte sports reporter so I think he’s credible.
If all goes well, it should be Michigan as Sam Webb gave his gut feeling on the MGoRoundTable today
Go Blue!! Keep those dominoes falling.
It is really disappointing that there have been no commits today...guess there are a few hours left.
How how does he feel about our engineering program? Don't want to lose him to Bama.

Lol… touché…
I took a quick look at US News’ rankings for Engineering colleges. Bama’s is ranked 104th. Michigan’s is ranked 6th.
Go Blue!

If it’s not us, will there be a ritual Mgoblog hari-Kari?
Hara-kiri, not hari-kiri. (Just being obnoxiously pedantic.)
Actually, I think you mean Harry Caray. "Cubs win. Cubs win!!!"
March 24th, 2023 at 12:42 PM ^
Hara-kiri was the simplified form of ritual suicide and the term wasn't used as much by the Japanese as seppuku which is the formal full ritual. That was today's history lesson. Haha.
"Gentlemen, Start Your Enginessssssss!"
"...and i got this job on merit."
Hope we don't come in second!
If we are his second choice, I hope we are also his first choice, third choice, fourth choice, and his fifth choice!
Why not? Second place is a set of steak knives.
Third place is you're fired.
Coffee is for closers....better close on this recruitment!
Why have you been so negative lately, comrade?

Spring offensive bogging down in the Donbas?
Big work meeting with Whinnie the pooh..

aka: winnie the flu.
kidding aside, he really is an emperor of a nuclear power and is about to attack taiwan in the next X months.
Then he will end us all and we can PROactively award Michigan the 2023/24 natty!
March 23rd, 2023 at 11:11 PM ^
He's a Michigan man and has seen a 5* recruit choose the other hat on the table many a time.
That story is long and complicated.
Day before the Spring Game... strange that.
Jadyn Davis committing the day before Michigan’s spring game with several big prospects on campus?
The levees are about to burst.
March 23rd, 2023 at 10:47 PM ^
That’s not the only thing about to burst.
Thanks, old forester. I’ll see myself out.
March 23rd, 2023 at 10:51 PM ^
Whenever I see or hear the word levee, I pull up Zeppelin and pull out the one hitter. For that I thank you!

I have it on vinyl with my dads early 70s tube amp, it’s absolutely amazing
I'm not an audiophile, but I'm still jealous...
If you're goin' down south
They got no work to do
If you're going down to Chicago
Always found that lyric kinda funny, though I know they didn't really write it. Definitely one of my Top 5 of theirs, though.

The song is about the Great Flood of 1927, and the subsequent migration of black laborers/sharecroppers to the northern cities for work.
That flood is basically responsible for the existence of Chicago Blues.
I understand that part, and Zeppelin's reverence for Chicago Blues. I was referring to the "going down South / going down to Chicago" part. Years ago, before I knew it was a blues cover or the context of it, I used to hear it and think, "Man, I love Zep, but they might wanna learn a little more about US geography."
So in years past with the signing of the stars and all that the coaches definitiely coordinated with the recruits on when they were going to commit. With the scenario Denarded paints you got to wonder if the coaches are coordinating this as well. Is Harbaugh organizing a religious rivival type atmosphere of social contagion. Do other recruits see the levees breaking and jump on in? How 3D chess is Harbaugh on all of this?
keeping my fingers crossed. This would be a great pickup.
After Dante and CJ, could really use some happy QB news.
CJ is in his class...so that one was intentional.
In the age of transfer portals, recruiting QB out of high school is not as crucial as before. Many big name veteran QBs who jumped ship last year found success in their new teams. Given the state of this program, QB is the position that I worry the least of.
Exactly. There are two phases to recruiting now with the portal which, in many cases, is a more sure way to evaluate players since they already have some college experience.
Perfect example - and it pains me to say this - is Notre Dame picking up QB Hartman in the transfer portal. He was the #1 Portal QB and will make a huge difference in that team this Fall. Basically, the missing piece the last couple of years for ND was the QB position and now they have a college proven QB
Finally. Time to put this class into hyperdrive.
Who will be the other 4?
Michigan...with Clemson, UNC, UGA, and Tennessee?
Michigan, UNC, Tennessee and Penn State are listed as “warm” on his 247 profile. I’d guess Clemson is team #5 or maybe OSU as an opportunity to twist that knife a little more.
OSU offered -as did everyone else - but they realize that they're not realistically in his final choices. I'm over on Eleven Warriors occasionally and they mention 2 or 3 others as options.
Still extremely early for rankings. Schools with more commits right now are at the top. Many top recruiting schools lay back and are bringing in several." top kids to evaluate. Right now the main thing I look at is the school's "average per recruit." Alabama is really notorious for this method. They lay back and then BOOM they get several top commits in the late summer and early Fall
He’s talking about Jadyn’s top 5. Not recruiting rankings.
Thanks, read it wrong. Yeah, the kid has future star written all over him
- Has he visited anywhere else even like 1/4 the amount of times he's visited Michigan?
- Does the commitment really change things? Not trying to be a downer or anything, but keeping him committed might be the real battle, right? Commitments from QBs of his caliber in the NIL age don't seem to mean much. Obviously it's not a bad thing though.
Doesn't seem like there are a ton of top tier QB decommitments without a coaching change. Unless I'm forgetting some obvious ones.
Dante Moore flipped from Oregon to UCLA.
