Only one we are waiting on is Zinter I believe. Has Jenkins stated he’s coming back? (Only one I could think of still maybe a possibility)
January 15th, 2023 at 2:05 PM ^
Zinter just announced he's coming back on his Intragram
January 15th, 2023 at 2:52 PM ^
Would be nice to find out for sure if Harbaugh is staying too.
January 15th, 2023 at 4:53 PM ^
Jenkins said in the lead up to the Fiesta Bowl that he’d be back. But I also saw a report a few days ago that said he was up in the air.
Possible that article was written by someone who didn’t see him say he was coming back and just assumed he hasn’t announced anything so he’s undecided. Or Jenkins could have gotten some draft projection information that has made him reconsider.
January 15th, 2023 at 6:30 PM ^
Kris Jenkins is reportedly undecided after reports at the Fiesta Bowl that he was coming back. I think some other players for which there has been no official announcement to date are Cornelius Johnson and Michael Barrett. I also never saw an official announcement on Karsen Barnhart, but most sites have him penciled in as coming back.
I would guess Cornelius Johnson is coming back (and may explain why Andrel Anthony decided to transfer).
EDIT: Barrett is back.

This is one deadline I do not need to put on my calendar.
January 15th, 2023 at 3:28 PM ^
Right, what kind of maniac uses cringe corporate terms like ‘COB’ in regards to their hobby? I only expect to hear that from my insufferable colleagues.
January 15th, 2023 at 5:12 PM ^
I MGoBlog strictly for the TPS reports.
January 15th, 2023 at 1:55 PM ^
Hopefully Stroud declares tomorrow.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:24 PM ^
I am of the opinion he is staying in college.
January 15th, 2023 at 4:27 PM ^
I wouldn't mind seeing him in Ann Arbor next year, behind what is likely to be a worse OL than the last 2 years.
January 15th, 2023 at 4:47 PM ^
I don't think he'd wait this long then declare. I think they are organizing his NIL to stay one more year and he will.
Here's to a 3rd straight loss to UM.
January 15th, 2023 at 5:11 PM ^
....and lot's of SNOW!
January 16th, 2023 at 7:01 AM ^
He's trying to decide what kind of car he wants for 2023.

Hoping for a career shutout!
January 15th, 2023 at 7:26 PM ^
Why? His signing bonus alone will probably be around 10 million as a top 4 pick… if he gets that type of money at OSU, good for him but thats around the amount day was asking for…for the whole team
January 15th, 2023 at 8:04 PM ^
OSU insiders suggest he will have received 20 million by the end of next year if he stays.
January 15th, 2023 at 9:32 PM ^
Not a chance.
January 16th, 2023 at 11:19 AM ^
My advice to CJ: Those who stay will not be getting any gold pants.
Losing three in a row to Michigan will not get him a nice gig selling cars in Central Ohio dealer after his playing days are over in Saskatchewan.
January 16th, 2023 at 11:15 AM ^
I'm hoping he declares and he absolutely should declare but living in Columbus, a lot of the news slowly leaking is he is announcing a comeback. OSU accounts have been hinting at it, with many other players announcing they're coming back. It seems similar to Michigan, with many wanting to run it back for a shot at the title.
January 15th, 2023 at 1:56 PM ^
Wonder what Stroud will do
January 15th, 2023 at 1:59 PM ^
Probably be like all OSU QB's that go to the league...Suck.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:21 PM ^
Slow down.
Justin Fields has a stay of execution as they build around his strengths.
As for the rest carry on.
January 15th, 2023 at 3:58 PM ^
QBs whose primary strength is running the ball don’t last long in the NFL.
January 15th, 2023 at 4:59 PM ^
Michael Vick would like a word with you.
January 15th, 2023 at 5:39 PM ^
A rare breed indeed.
January 15th, 2023 at 9:53 PM ^
True. But that did not describe Haskins and in terms of production in college it didn’t describe Fields. Trouble is they get their stats inflated by ridiculous skill talent in college.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:01 PM ^
Isn’t he projected to be the 1st qb drafted? His stock isn’t going to get any higher so I’d be absolutely shocked if he doesn’t declare.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:06 PM ^
Bryce Young is projected as first QB.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:12 PM ^
Walter Camp football actually has Stroud as their #1 QB ahead of Young.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:32 PM ^
Houston will take Young. That's the only board that matters. But Stroud should come out in any case because he is likely taken by the Colts at 4.
January 16th, 2023 at 7:04 AM ^
Sounds like that may be part of the reason for the delay. CJ Stroud's agent is the same as Deshaun Watson. Texans have burned some bridges.
https://texanswire.usatoday.com/2023/01/15/texans-divorce-deshaun-watson-affect-courting-c-j-stroud/
January 16th, 2023 at 10:44 AM ^
Houston doesn't have the #1 pick. Are you suggesting that they'll trade up?
January 15th, 2023 at 2:07 PM ^
Some are saying he's the #1 QB. But most are saying Bryce Young is #1. What's at issue now is the Kentucky QB, Will Levis, might also be taken before CJ Stroud. So that's why, they are saying, Stroud is thinking about staying at Ohio St.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:10 PM ^
He would still be a top 10-15 pick though. Dropping below Levis would not mean a huge hit for his paycheck
January 15th, 2023 at 3:05 PM ^
I'd think top 7 even if he's the third QB. Houston needs a QB, Colts need a QB. Raiders are probably taking one at 7 so I could see someone trying to trade up to get one if they really want a QB. Could see someone trading with the Bears at 1 to get a QB.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:11 PM ^
That would be stupid on his part. He will likely go before Levis and even if he went after, it would still be more guaranteed money via contract than he can get anywhere close to at OSU. And that is not even taking into consideration endorsement deals and local spots when one is the face of an NFL franchise.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:25 PM ^
Well, he may still declare.
I haven't said he will stay for the NIL money. I don't know if that's a factor or not
But to me, the Northwestern game showed he's not ready for the NFL yet. The circumstances got the best of him.
Setting that aside, maybe he's got an ego that wants to be the #1 pick.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:35 PM ^
True, but he DEFINITELY won't be the #1 pick next year. So someone needs to give him some better advice. He is likely to go at #4 to the Colts.
It's not about the difference between NIL and NFL money though. It's more about the fact that one could get injured and get NO NFL money going forward or a fraction of what he would get in a matter of months from now.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:39 PM ^
Yeah, as it stands today, he's not beating out Caleb Williams for #1 next year either.
January 15th, 2023 at 5:13 PM ^
....and probably not JJ, if he were to leave early after winning the CFP.
January 15th, 2023 at 8:38 PM ^
Caleb Williams
Drake Maye
JJ
Hartman
Daniels
Rattler
Ewers
next years QB crop will be even deeper than this year. CJ certainly stacks up with all of them, but with such a deep pool of QBs to pick from he would run the risk of dropping even a few slots compared to how he is being evaluated in this years draft.
January 15th, 2023 at 10:55 PM ^
This is fact. The QB NFL crop will be much stronger next year.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:36 PM ^
0-2 against Michigan and being a Heisman bridesmaid both years probably stings a bit and sticks in his mind as well, especially when considering OSU recent history of success against UM.
January 15th, 2023 at 3:56 PM ^
I think we are overestimating NIL $. First round money, insurance, pension, one year closer to contract #2, no skooool.
January 15th, 2023 at 4:13 PM ^
All players have bad games. His stats the last two years are second to none. He has a better NFL arm and body than Bryce Young. The only thing Stroud is lacking thus far is that X factor. The ability to take a game into his own hands. He might or might not acquire that skill but there’s no reason to stay in college because of one game against Northwestern! I don’t like him but he’s the most talented qb in the draft.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:25 PM ^
Stupid maybe - ohio NIL depending.
However if he comes back and loses a 3rd straight to Michigan in Michigan instead of "gold pants" he is getting:
January 15th, 2023 at 2:36 PM ^
Ohio NIL won't guarantee him 20-30 million. NFL can.
January 15th, 2023 at 3:10 PM ^
Brian Kelly saw this and took away the wedgie but added a grind
January 15th, 2023 at 3:24 PM ^
Aka the "Greg Frey Award"
January 15th, 2023 at 2:43 PM ^
I'm getting Zach Wilson, Mitch Trubisky vibes from Will Levis. When he played good competition, his stats were mediocre. When he played the Louisiana-Monroe's of the world, he was a star. Plus, Levis is already going to be a 24 year old rookie next year. Stroud is a full 2 years younger. Levis is fool's gold. If you give Stroud good coaching (unlike the coaching Fields has gotten), he can be successful in the NFL. Fields and Stroud are, by far, the 2 most pro ready QB's that OSU have ever had. Dwayne Haskins had a lot of skill, but he had maturity issues. Fields and Stroud are serious enough to be professionals... and their skill level is up to par, as well.
