spoke too soon - USC responded to Tulane with their own TD to go up 21-14
LSU demolishing Purdue 28-0
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:03 PM ^
so Drew Brees isn't going to be added to the coaching staff for next season?
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:36 PM ^
There was a Bigfoot (Bert) sighting at the ReliaQuest Bowl. 10-10 Illini vs MSU (not that MSU)
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:38 PM ^
USC turning it up a notch...up 28-14 just before halftime
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:39 PM ^
I’ll never get over that review from Saturday. Every time when there’s a play where there’s more evidence to overturn the call and they don’t do it, like what just happened in the Mississippi State game, I’ll think about that play.
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:45 PM ^
I was just thinking the same thing during the review
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:39 PM ^
Are any of these teams playing with their star players?
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:30 PM ^
Not really
best talent opts out
Sometimes (like Purdue) the coaching staff is a makeshift crew
Most bowl games are bad 9 month early pre-season scrimmages played in front of family and others with comp tickets.
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:44 PM ^
Don't care.
Football season over
Heart broken.
Only interested to see who is coming back and how loaded we are next year.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:02 PM ^
Yep. Me too. The rest of bowl season is like the the rest of a Saturday after a Michigan loss. Can’t watch it.
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:49 PM ^
Illinois can't run the way they would like to in a bowl game either.
Sometimes the other team just won't cooperate with your amazing plan that you worked on all month. Better have a Plan B rep'd and ready to go.
January 2nd, 2023 at 2:52 PM ^
i believe Chase Brown is sitting this one out
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:08 PM ^
Yeah, mid-level bowl games never told you very much, and now they tell you even less. They are just NFL exhibition games, but at the end of the season.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:10 PM ^
Once the 12 team playoffs start, many of these bowl games will be folded into the playoff bracket. The others will be left for those teams not ranked in the top 12.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:14 PM ^
It will make them even more meaningless. Only freshmen and walk-ons will play in them.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:09 PM ^
Puredon't stopped our running game by run blitzing much like what TCU did to us. There should have been a lot of our WR open when TCU was sending 8 D players into the backfield on every play to stop the run.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:20 PM ^
I would love to have another shot at TCU. Talk about meat left on the bone. But that's not the way it works. You don't get re-do's. Make it count the first time.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:19 PM ^
Big Ten showing they’re not great with these bigger bowl games.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:49 PM ^
I don't know how much we can conclude -- other than LSU is probably better than Purdue.
Big 10 is 4-4 in bowls with Penn St still to play. In bowl games (sans NCG) SEC will finish 6-5, ACC 5-4, Big 12 2-6. Pac 12 is 3-2 with USC winning and Utah still to play. But so much has to do with matchups, coaching changes, opt outs, portal stuff, etc etc.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:18 PM ^
In years past, it seemed that the ACC teams (because of less desirable relationships with the bowls) were often playing teams they were favored to beat.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:22 PM ^
Bert looks good in orange.
And by good I mean goodyear blimp.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:25 PM ^
Nope
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:26 PM ^
Down goes Bert. Illini gives up a touchdown on the lateral drill as time runs out. Team gets into a scrum with NTMSU.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:30 PM ^
Illinois seems to seek out violence a lot for an 8-5 team
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:34 PM ^
Tulane hanging surprisingly tough with a USC team that nearly won its conference.
Spoilermakers appear to be completely outmatched versus LSU.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:35 PM ^
Poor Purdue ... LSU is making an example of them. :-(
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:37 PM ^
Illinois should have won, but they missed their shots. Shame, since having their opt out players probably would have been a solid win.
January 2nd, 2023 at 3:44 PM ^
Orlovsky demonstrating why he's a bad analyst: LSU scored a TD on a Philly Special, and he said that Michigan wished it executed the play that well, but Michigan's attempt failed because the TCU corner played it perfectly. It was a bad call because of the situation, not because it failed.
To Orlovsky's credit, though, it's a good example of resulting.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:14 PM ^
Tulane needs to get a stop on this drive.
the PSU/Utah game will be fun
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:27 PM ^
PSU and Utah are two programs that win their bowl games over 60% of the time. I figure both will show up ready to play.
There is actually an inactive lead and silver mine called the, "Michigan-Utah Mine," on the backside of Solitude Ski Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon, though the mine itself is associated with the Little Cottonwood Mining District that is now part of the Wasatch National Forest.
Other than that long past historical tie, I enjoyed my time in Utah quite a bit, so I'll be pulling for the Utes in this one.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:28 PM ^
Really hope this Purdue receiver is ok ... looks awful
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:32 PM ^
Tulane continuing to deal on offense.
another game where the defenses can't seem to stop either side...but Tulane hanging with USC is pretty surprising
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:36 PM ^
Tulane, a TD and a safety. Wow
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:43 PM ^
Man there are some hotties at Tulane. And they are all at this game.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:45 PM ^
Pure Targeting.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:45 PM ^
oh man... hope those guys are ok.
Looked like targeting to me.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:54 PM ^
WTF, how's that not targeting.
Oh well, Tulane just got the correct review for the winning touchdown.
Down goes the trojans!!!!
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:47 PM ^
Hahhah
"Not targeting"
What a weird simulation we live in.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:48 PM ^
shocked that wasn't targeting imo...
not sure how to fix the rule, but its soooo subjective
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
TD!!!
What a game!
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
That never touched the ground.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
that's a catch for sure...
but after yesterdays' replay reversal... who knows
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:50 PM ^
That's a TD, goodnight USC.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:50 PM ^
Good for you, Tulane.
USC gacks up another one.
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:50 PM ^
Oh that's clearly a TD!
....and so it'll be 3rd and goal
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:50 PM ^
that is a TD
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:51 PM ^
Another blown targeting call
January 2nd, 2023 at 4:51 PM ^
wow... amazing game to watch.
good for Tulane
