Sam Webb Crystal Balls Jadyn Davis to UM
November 13th, 2022 at 2:11 PM ^
ALL. THE. BALLS.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:40 PM ^
Speaking of which, this guy is singing with the soprano section today.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:52 PM ^
This is when the hurdler BECOMES the fool
November 13th, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
As I said at the game,"someone got kicked in the "lil huskers" today!"
November 13th, 2022 at 4:00 PM ^
Was watching that play from bleachers at my sons middle school robotics competition. Had to appear a little nutty laughing out loud by myself watching that nutcracker on my iPad.
November 13th, 2022 at 4:48 PM ^
That's one way to stop all those hurdles that everyone is trying now.
I was wondering when somebody was going to finally do what Sainristil did to that hurdler.
November 13th, 2022 at 5:49 PM ^
Kid is lucky he didn't break his neck the way he got dunked by the second hit.
November 13th, 2022 at 8:45 PM ^
“ OmG right in the gooch”
Gotta say I didn’t see RG3 busting out this vernacular on national TV.
November 13th, 2022 at 10:33 PM ^
Wait he said gooch?
November 14th, 2022 at 11:52 AM ^
Got his little corn nuggets smashed.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:11 PM ^
But does he have a gut feeling? Lol
November 13th, 2022 at 2:27 PM ^
No historically with Sam, crystal balls are pretty sure. Gut feelings are definitely. Unless it’s about Xavier Worthy. Then it’s a kick in the balls.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:30 PM ^
In fairness to Sam, Xavier Worthy did commit and try to enroll. The institution messed up that one, and Texas tampered. Sam does sometimes overhype Michigan's chances with croots we probably aren't getting--Walter Nolen stands out here--but his actual firm predictions tend to be responsible and are certainly based on good info. He's as good a source as you'll find on Michigan crootin'
November 14th, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
I think the "overhypes Michigan's chances" is even overblown. There were multiple advantages with Nolen and we were a finalist. Saying we had a chance is not hyperbolic despite many of us having strong suspicions it wouldn't happen. Some people just take the choices of teenagers personally and blame Webb for that.
November 15th, 2022 at 2:18 PM ^
It’s in a recruitnik’s best interest to keep a story going on star recruits - even when he knows there’s really no chance. I feel like the recruiting media generate a lot of of drama intentionally; it gets people clicking and typing in their credit card #s.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:55 PM ^
IIRC, Xavier Worthy did commit and was 'in the fold' for a while.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:12 PM ^
Nice. I wish he could reclassify to 23’
November 13th, 2022 at 3:45 PM ^
Honestly, I think Davis has a stranglehold on the second spot, he's pretty good. Jaydn comes joins the team in '24, and gets to get a feel for things. He then sees the field in '25 with Bryce getting the JJ treatment and seeing spot duties that year.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:13 PM ^
Not sure what he’s seen of the passing game under Harbaugh to want to come but I’ll take it
November 13th, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
Maybe he sees an easy path to QB1.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:36 PM ^
For a team that will compete for Big Ten and National Championships with a fan base that puts 115,000 fans in the seats every Saturday while getting an elite education.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:43 PM ^
He probably would like to go the NFL.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:55 PM ^
So you think that JJ will not have a shot to go to the NFL? He may not rack up as much production but scouts will know that he has played in a pro system and he will have demonstrated he can make all the throws. I don't think that JJ's current position is going to materially limit him in any way.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:26 PM ^
Jimmy Clausen was an NFL QB (scout team) for a very long time. Dude got paid and wasn’t that good.
November 13th, 2022 at 5:00 PM ^
To date, he absolutely CANNOT make all the throws. I hope that develops, but the deep ball is below average to this point
November 13th, 2022 at 9:47 PM ^
I tend to think the lack of a true elite receiver is the issue. We need that top speed blazer to run under his throws. He's just a step or two ahead of our guys.
Obviously he needs to develop more touch, but an elite arm sometimes needs elite speed to keep pace with it.
November 13th, 2022 at 5:11 PM ^
He certainly has a shot but it would be in spite of his numbers and stats at Michigan (unless something changes dramatically next year). He's not getting schemed to the Heisman podium and then to the first round like OSU QBs (who then all end up terrible in the NFL).
November 13th, 2022 at 3:30 PM ^
And annual high-profile games vs osu for trips to the cfp!
And games at Austin & Norman coming up during his time at Michigan (so long as we don't cancel them like we did ucla this year - a decision that may very well cost a trip to the cfp for this team!)
November 13th, 2022 at 2:16 PM ^
He has a good relationship with Weiss. Idk why but he does. So I guess we have to hope Weiss stays even tho he’s not good at his job?
November 13th, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
Is this a serious comment? Jesus. Some people are just insufferable.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:29 PM ^
Sad isn't it? 10-0, merking opponents like no tomorrow, and some folks still can't enjoy it. Some people just get off on bitching.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:40 PM ^
I know 91wolverine will get downvoted for this take but for those in the know - or who have access to those in the know - then you'd understand why his comment is not without merit.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:50 PM ^
"...those in the know..."
Whatever. If you have sources inside the program then say so and tell us why his point has/does not have merit. Nobody is impressed because you say "those in the know" like some super secret spy. Don't name the individual, but give us some reason to believe. Otherwise, stop. It doesn't make you impressive.
Weiss is a stats guy that reportedly knows the running game pretty well, along with Sherrone. The running game is currently burning down everything in its path. I suspect he's pretty good at what he and Sherrone are trying to do. Give me a reason not to believe that.
The passing game is a mess, and appears to be getting worse. Most likely cause is the passing coordinator leaving last year, and not being replaced with another competent passing guy. If you want to tell me that Weiss is in charge of the passing game, I might believe that he sucks at his job.
But dude, saying "those in the know" isn't going to make me believe anything you say...
November 13th, 2022 at 3:08 PM ^
I don't have to tell you anything and I'm certainly not trying to impress a keyboard warrior like you. For anyone interested in UM's success (like me) there are many good reasons to not dump on a player or coach on a message board. So I'll leave it at that. You don't have to like it or agree but 91wolverine's post rings true.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:55 PM ^
November 13th, 2022 at 7:01 PM ^
I get that, but the point here is the claim that Weiss isn't good at his job. If you feel comfortable weighing-in, citing insider info, but your insider info doesn't go beyond "Weiss sucks" or "X told me Weiss sucks", then there's an obvious question about the usefulness and validity of your inside info.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:37 PM ^
Completion percentage, yards per attempt and TD/interception ratio are all better this year than they were last year.
November 14th, 2022 at 10:37 AM ^
While I generally agree with you and you make some fantastic points (we should be skeptical of those claiming inside knowledge), I went through skegemogpoint's posting history and he / she does appear to have access to some legit inside information. Per their old posts, they were right about quite a few things before they became public, including the Cade-Starts-Game 1, JJ-Starts-Game 2 plan, Davis Warren being QB3, and Mason Graham & Rolder being contributors.
This isn't definitive proof (some might argue they were lucky predictions) but it does make me a lot more inclined to believe what skegemogpoint is saying. Unfortunately I'm not sure we can make much of what is being said here as it is sort of vague - a general "Weiss' strength is in the run game and he isn't as strong in the pass game design" type of vibe.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
Nice attempt to paint yourself as one of those people skeg!
Yeah, we didn't buy it 🤷♂️
November 14th, 2022 at 5:59 AM ^
lol. there’s nothing more jibber-jabber than saying you’ve got some inside dope. and what’s the “in the know” about this:
He has a good relationship with Weiss. Idk why but he does. So I guess we have to hope Weiss stays even tho he’s not good at his job?
hey, i’m in the know, too - i've got an inside source. and i say it IS without merit.
she’s from buffalo, you wouldn’t know her.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
If Matt Weiss is "bad at his job," I'd like to hire some people people who are similarly bad at their jobs to work with me
November 13th, 2022 at 2:18 PM ^
Maybe he thinks he can hit those deep shots….
November 13th, 2022 at 2:22 PM ^
Be positive. He sees a kid who can fit in the window and places the ball at the only place that his receiver can get it. Kind of like what NFL teams like.
November 13th, 2022 at 2:34 PM ^
His recruiting profile states, “his two favorite parts of the game are handing off and checking down. Loves, loves loves ball security.”
November 13th, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
Who is downvoting this? I mean, this is just funny if you don’t take things too seriously. Loves loves loves ball security. Lol
November 13th, 2022 at 3:31 PM ^
I swear The Bos of Me isn’t my wife, although the user name would check out.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:34 PM ^
Once again & unsurprisingly, oracle's user name does not check out!
November 13th, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
You know, having a miserable disposition on life is a choice. We are undefeated. We just got a good signal that a top QB wants to join the program. Just keep the snark to yourself. No one cares for it.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:17 PM ^
Your reply leaves me confident I’m a happier person than you are.
November 13th, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
Dude I'm just sorry that a few unwise people in your life convinced you you're amusing, and that you should share this gift on the internet & not be selfish about it.
They steered you wrong brah
