Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Michigan of the East.
Congrats, Glenn!!

Rest assured that if he were transferring here from Harvard, there would have been an admissions issue, because WE ARE MICHIGAN!!!
WE BOW TO NO ONE, etc., etc., HAIL!, and so forth.

Hbs is a grad only program and requires several years work experience; no transfers are possible.

I wonder if Aaron Kraft is a doctor yet...
/s

I'll also tell you who is not a doctor, Craig Krenzel. Still grinds my gears a bit when he would be routinely hyped as some sort of uber Renaissance man during broadcasts. After seeing your comment, I looked him up expecting him to have pocketed a couple of Nobels, but it turns out he's a sports talk radio commentator.

Or Robert Smith. I think he's still singing for The Cure and avoiding med school.
November 8th, 2022 at 2:02 PM ^
I was thinking about this while watching the video of Robert Smith interview Blake Corum. Smith mentioned not playing football as a sophomore, but didn't mention why. I was really hoping Blake was going to ask "why?"
As I recall, he supposedly quit football to concentrate on track (he ran 46.41 400m in HS) and prepare for medical school.
November 8th, 2022 at 11:05 AM ^
This reminds me, did Jake Ruddock pursue his plan to go to med school?
November 8th, 2022 at 11:18 AM ^
Pretty sure Jake is enrolled at UM Medical School.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:35 PM ^
What about Andrew Vastardis? And who was the linebacker a few years ago that wanted to be an astronaut?
November 8th, 2022 at 1:29 PM ^
I thought the potential astronaut was Josh Uche, but: 1) he is still on the Patriots, and 2) he has a political science degree, so I might be misremembering.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:39 PM ^
Noah Furbush was going for a degree in aerospace engineering. A quick internet search shows he's a lieutenant in the Marines so hopefully he can achieve his goal.
November 8th, 2022 at 11:44 AM ^
Is he related to the former Michigan QB Jake Ruddddock?
November 8th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
Apparently Craft is enrolled at The med school.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:21 PM ^
What about Kork Coupons? I thought he was going to be a doc as well.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:26 PM ^
From years ago, but when I see things like this I think of Stefan Humphries. He played guard for Muchigan in the early 80s and became a doctor after his NFL career.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:48 PM ^
So did Kirk Lewis, former UM football captain for two years.
November 8th, 2022 at 2:04 PM ^
I believe Marc Milia (C in the early 90s as I recall) also became a MD.
November 8th, 2022 at 2:09 PM ^
There was some kid named Aidan who played at Michigan. His Dad played there, too. Dad became a Doctor if I remember correctly.....
November 8th, 2022 at 2:07 PM ^
Same with Chris “I’m not Steve, just Aidan’s dad” Hutchinson.
Congrats to GR3. What an awesome accomplishment.
November 8th, 2022 at 10:49 PM ^
Audible burst of laughter on this one. Well done
November 8th, 2022 at 10:12 AM ^
Pretty, pretty, pretty impressive!
November 8th, 2022 at 10:21 AM ^
Awesome news!
November 8th, 2022 at 10:24 AM ^
He is going to kill it in the intramural undergrad basketball league. I can’t wait for the videos of him posterizing some 19 year old computer science prodigy!
Congrats Glenn, huge accomplishment!

Who’s the Big Dog now?
(Still can’t imagine how good the Fab 5 would have been with Glenn Robinson in tow.)
November 8th, 2022 at 10:42 AM ^
Those Michigan-Purdue games are some good watching. Big Dog puts on a show in '93 but Michigan wins both. Then win at Mackey in '94, and then they storm back at Crisler to snatch the title away (brutal).
November 8th, 2022 at 11:13 AM ^
That '94 loss to Purdue at Crisler still stings after all these years. We had that game won and then let it slip away in the final 90 seconds. We would have won the Big Ten that year and probably ended up with a number one seed in the tourney if it wasn't for that loss.
November 8th, 2022 at 11:24 AM ^
In deed. Choke city. Firing up transition 3s with an eight point lead and 90 seconds to go. Team still performed in the tournament but the end of the season cost a BIG title, a number 1 seed and landing spot in the Arkansas region. Ugly.
November 8th, 2022 at 10:29 AM ^
ahem, it's hahhhhhhhvahhhhhhhd
November 8th, 2022 at 12:44 PM ^
Per a teacher I once had that was a Yale grad, apparently Yale used to have a mocking cheer that went something like this, as they flicked a handkerchief in the air: "H-A-R with a V. V-A-R with a D. Harvard! Harvard! Wee!"...
November 8th, 2022 at 1:51 PM ^
Dang that’s a pretty sick burn.
November 8th, 2022 at 11:03 AM ^
Not bad -- HBS a great place for those who don't get into Ross. Good luck, Big Dog!!
November 8th, 2022 at 11:59 AM ^
Always love these jokes.
Our son’s orthodontist went to Harvard Dental School.
ME: “So you didn’t get in to Michigan?”
November 8th, 2022 at 12:56 PM ^
When it's been around this long and it's so painfully obvious it's not even a dad joke. Is this like a grandpa joke?
November 8th, 2022 at 11:08 AM ^
For those without twitter:
November 8th, 2022 at 11:19 AM ^
This doesn't mean anything; GRIII just photoshopped himself onto a picture of Lloyd Brady at HBS...
November 8th, 2022 at 11:35 AM ^
This is awesome news! Best of luck and congratulations, Glenn!
November 8th, 2022 at 2:49 PM ^
I really hope he has one of those shirts.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:45 PM ^
taking a step down
November 8th, 2022 at 2:07 PM ^
Congratulations and good luck Glenn ! Pretty darn terrific. Go Blue !
November 10th, 2022 at 9:26 AM ^
I dont mean to be a skeptic, but folks its November (semester started probably late September), so “wish me luck this semester” might possibly be a funny of some kind. Any outside confirmation?
If he wanted a b-school, it would not be the first place I would recommend to him; it’s kind of a bellhole
