Michigan is the 2nd best team in the country right now and thus, they should be ranked #2 next week.
That's what the poll is, ranking the best teams in the country.

In any expanded playoff, I want southern teams in the north playing games. I am tired of their pussification with playing in games that are below 70 degrees and cloudy. Football is played in any and all game conditions. You got Clemson this morning complaining about the weather in South Bend. The southern teams need a bubble to function in life.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:02 PM ^
Totally agree. Sounds like a team from Columbus. Curious when they will be installing the retractable roof to the Ohio toilet bowl.
Ryan, "born on third", Day 'had never seen anything like the weather yesterday at Northwestern"
It's called wind, Ryan. Perhaps that's why every OSU QB is a bust in the NFL
November 6th, 2022 at 5:44 PM ^
Agreed. I always thought this was a great equalizer because Northern teams always either play on warm weather teams’ turf for bowl games or in controlled conditions that favor teams from more genteel climes. That is not an equal playing field.
You can see the difference it makes in the NFL where the Southern teams can’t run roughshod over everyone come playoff time because they have to go through teams that don’t play in such benign climates and have to contend with the elements or switch up their game plan to cope.

Various biases
November 5th, 2022 at 11:51 PM ^
But OSU so explosive...
despite the fact that we now have a bigger point differential than the buckeyes.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:00 AM ^
I mean, explosive if it's not windy, rainy, a bit cold, frosty, slightly inclement or perhaps a light breeze.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:50 AM ^
And the opposing team doesn't have pass rushers and don't say Boo to Stroud.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:23 AM ^
Are we pretending like bad head colds arent a thing anymore?
November 6th, 2022 at 2:13 AM ^
And also if Stroud himself is not moving. He threw a big handful of horrendous balls today just because of his terrible footwork.
November 6th, 2022 at 11:06 AM ^
🤧 too.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:48 PM ^
If the first half didn’t happen tonight I’d believe the committee should move us up to #2, but since it did, I don’t think they move us beyond #3.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:52 PM ^
Almost 3 full quarters osu trailed or tied NW & they nowhere near as emphatically righted their ship. You’re probably right they won’t leap us over OSU, but based on today only, they should and it’s not even close. Rutger 4-5 East bottom dweller light years better than NWestern 1-8 West bottom. (Their game was in severe wind tho)
November 6th, 2022 at 12:52 AM ^
It makes so much difference if we are #2 and play at #3 OSU vs. being #3 and playing at #2 OSU….
November 6th, 2022 at 10:12 AM ^
Yes, the severe wind that NW had to play in? That one?
November 6th, 2022 at 12:17 AM ^
You give the committee too much credit. They don’t actually watch football.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:45 AM ^
From my understanding, at least 3 of them have heard of football, though, so it's a definitive ranking.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:49 PM ^
Unfortunately, I think Norte Dame beating Clemson probably solidifies OSU at #2 from a SOS standpoint (at least compared to Michigan). If it ends up being the case, OSU looks like the softest OSU team I have seen in a while. I am always for Michigan moving up due to their play on the field but the mental and superstitious fan in me wants us to be ranked lower the OSU going into The Game. Go Blue!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:49 PM ^
Who cares. Beat OSU and we're the two seed (or one if UGA biffs one, but that seems unlikely)
November 6th, 2022 at 12:30 AM ^
These are my feelings as well. Would it be nice to see UM as high as possible in the rankings? Sure. But, I am more keyed in to where they land at the end of championship week. Just win! Everything else will be sorted out if that happens.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:26 AM ^
Ranked 1,2,3,4 either way you are playing Georgia in the first round if you are from the Big Ten. Maybe maybe Tennessee.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:49 PM ^
I think we deserve two with OSU making Northwestern of all teams look competent. However, inertia is in their favor and we probably don't jump them until we beat them.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:50 PM ^
OSU struggled for longer, against 1-7 in the West NWestern. Our struggle shorter, way more emphatically righted, against a far superior bottom of far superior East in Rutger. Easy case. (Don’t care if they see it though, which probably won’t: 2s get upset, often by 3s.)
November 6th, 2022 at 8:15 AM ^
Saying Rutgers has a far superior bottom, is that the classy way of saying you like Jersey girls asses?
November 6th, 2022 at 10:39 AM ^
And you don’t?
November 5th, 2022 at 11:51 PM ^
When OSU played Notre Dame they weren't as good as they are now. OSU struggled with the worst team in the BigTen. We beat our common opponent PSU by more.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:55 PM ^
Home versus away though, going there and winning looks more impressive to a committee of supposedly unbiased experts.
November 6th, 2022 at 3:35 PM ^
OSU has 2 good wins - ND and PSU. I know ND then is not ND now. Let me know the 2nd best win on UM's schedule Pls dont say MD.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:51 PM ^
Who does number 2 work for
November 5th, 2022 at 11:56 PM ^
A profound question - and I, for one, am glad that you asked
November 6th, 2022 at 12:09 AM ^
You tell that turd who’s boss!
How ‘bout a courtesy flush over there?
November 5th, 2022 at 11:52 PM ^
Doesn't really matter tho
November 5th, 2022 at 11:54 PM ^
As much as I believe we belong at #2, something about a 4 spot jump for beating Rutgers feels dirty
November 6th, 2022 at 9:33 AM ^
From #5 to #2 would be a 3 spot jump
November 5th, 2022 at 11:55 PM ^
It's moot
GA #1
OSU or UM 2 and 3 whichever order It's a play-in game in a few weeks.
TCU should be #4 eff the committee if its TN. Bama if TX QB not hurt would be on 3 losses. So that sweet TN win at home while giving up 49 doesnt look great in retrospect.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:48 AM ^
Bama if not Bama would be around 15ish.
November 6th, 2022 at 10:09 AM ^
Really - Bama didn’t look great against Texas A & M either. Very close to a 4 loss Bama team.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:55 PM ^
Let's just be cool to be top 4 again after that fraudulent Clemson stole it from us.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:55 PM ^
Mikey Barrett is superhuman. Change my mind.
November 6th, 2022 at 8:15 AM ^
When Michael Barrett jumps into the water, he doesn’t get wet. The water gets Barretted.
November 6th, 2022 at 10:19 AM ^
Always +1 for a Chuck N......I mean a Michael Barrett joke.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:58 PM ^
Seems to be Zero difference if you are the #2 or #3 team in my estimation.
UGA will not lose a game until the playoff - to us hopefully.
M & Ohio game will be 2 vs. 3
Nebraska is our trap game. Had this feeling for weeks. This is their Super Bowl - entire season in one game. And they seem to always play us tough regardless of whats going on with them. Next week goes into 4th qtr with a scare. Not worried about Illinois.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:12 AM ^
Not in Ann Arbor last time (2018, 56-10)
November 6th, 2022 at 8:17 AM ^
We were outhit that game though.
November 6th, 2022 at 8:21 AM ^
At this point we are playing super bowl after super bowl. Which of the next games won’t be one NEB? ILL? Ohio?
Which of the past few hasn’t been RUT?, Sparty?, IU? Iowa? Penn?
November 6th, 2022 at 11:27 AM ^
My thoughts exactly. We get everyone's A game.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:59 PM ^
Nope. The Committee wants to make an example of us for our non-conference. Frankly, I agree. If you want respect , don’t dodge UCLA for our schedule. We went all in on being undefeated when we set this schedule. So, we need to win out or SFTU.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:14 AM ^
Exactly. The committee will want to send a message about our non-conference schedule..
