His passing resume against Iowa is impeccable
October 1st, 2022 at 12:08 AM ^
does he have a qbr?

♾
It’s more of a concept than a number
September 30th, 2022 at 10:47 PM ^
about time. how else will we throw a 75 yd TD pass if he's not in the line-up?
anybody know what his boo-boo was/has been?
September 30th, 2022 at 11:21 PM ^
He went off the field wincing after an out of bounds play against Hawaii, so I assumed it was an ankle or knee sprain. This would be a quick return though, so he may have just tweaked something that had been sprained in years past.
October 1st, 2022 at 7:33 AM ^
I read it was an ankle sprain.
September 30th, 2022 at 10:47 PM ^
After the fumble by Stokes i dont want to see him carry a single ball in a big road game like this. Edwards is a huge asset in the run and passing game and would be great to have him back
September 30th, 2022 at 10:49 PM ^
Yeah, we should probably revoke his scholarship and tell to beat it as well.
September 30th, 2022 at 11:01 PM ^
how did you get that from my previous post? its a big time game on the road against a team we havent beaten since 2005 at their house. The kids last carry was a fumble. Id prefer him not getting any carries in this game. What part of that is ridiculous?
October 1st, 2022 at 12:07 AM ^
How about we go up by 35 and bring the kid back into the game in the 4th quarter to get him "back on track". Okay?
October 1st, 2022 at 7:40 AM ^
you don’t staple a talented kid to the bench after one mistake. thank goodness harbaugh kept running ronnie bell out there after the drop against penn state.
October 1st, 2022 at 8:25 AM ^
Its the part where the last play (and only the last play) determines the next play
September 30th, 2022 at 11:04 PM ^
Seriously, dude? Every running back fumbles.
You may recall Mike Hart, who never fumbled, famously fumbled so twice--in the red zone and near the goal line, no less--against Florida in Lloyd Carr's last game against Florida.
Is it going to be a problem? Fuck if I know--but neither do you. It's worth keeping an eye open, naturally, but that's true for every other running back.
September 30th, 2022 at 11:22 PM ^
Stokes has 23 career carries, and fumbled on his first and only carry against a P5 opponent. Don’t compare him to Mike Hart.
September 30th, 2022 at 11:35 PM ^
Hart actually fumbled early in his freshman season, too. Then he didn't fumble again for almost four years.
October 1st, 2022 at 8:13 AM ^
He fumbled a few times over his career...including as a freshman.
But he never lost the fumble until Florida.
That does matter even though it probably shouldn't.
It's still absolutely ridiculous to compare a starter to a 3rd string player. Of course the starter has EARNED more leeway.
The fact that people are even mentioning Hart in comparison is only because he's the RB coach.
It's asinine.
If McCarthy fumbled...do we think he would've been benched last week? No, his situation is wildly different than CJ Stokes.
If Orji came in for a play and fumbled (or threw an INT)...do we think he would've been benched the rest of the game? Probably.
WTF are we talking about? Seriously - why does this even need to be said out loud? This is all painfully obvious.
October 1st, 2022 at 10:53 AM ^
I’m hungover. Please stop yelling.
October 1st, 2022 at 8:15 AM ^
*slaps table* THANK YOU!
September 30th, 2022 at 11:38 PM ^
You have one of the best backfields in the country why you even bother giving the 3rd string RB a carry in a game like this is beyond me. Unless were up by 3 scores. Otherwise leave those carries for IU or nebraska
September 30th, 2022 at 11:44 PM ^
I don't think anyone expects him to carry the ball if Edwards is available. But above you made it sound like he needs to be punished for his one fumble. That's what got the negative reaction.
October 1st, 2022 at 8:48 AM ^
I am probably in the minority here, but I’d rather see the kids out there and get a few runs to get his confidence back. It doesn’t have to be in critical situations but let him get himself back into the game action
October 1st, 2022 at 8:08 AM ^
Why do people keep comparing a freshman, fighting to be the #3 RB with a 4-year starting RB, who left as one of best 2 or 3 RBs in school history? In a bowl game, literally his last game.
Stokes should get more carries and opportunities...but comparing him to Mike Hart is ridiculous.
If CJ was a 4 year STARTER, who had never lost a fumble in his entire career. I'm POSITIVE he would've continued to get more carries last weekend. 100% certain.
Hell - if Corum had lost a fumble, I guarantee he would've continued to get more carries last weekend. This logic suggest we would've benched him along with Stokes and ran Dunlap and Gash the rest of the game.
They're completely different situations.
October 1st, 2022 at 8:44 AM ^
That game would have been a blowout instead of an easy - ish win.
October 1st, 2022 at 12:37 AM ^
Simply bench Stokes? Not enough outrage! Imo.
deserves the gulag!
October 1st, 2022 at 6:27 AM ^
They should run Stokes just one time, on 3rd and 5, from midfield, right up the gut.
October 1st, 2022 at 8:30 AM ^
So what are you going to say if Edwards fumbles on his first carry of the game today? Bench him and only run Corum? What happens if JJ throws a pic? Bench him and play Bowman or Warren? What happens if Anthony catches a bomb, takes two steps, and drops it on the field? If Will Johnson picks Petras, but fumbles the return, does he get benched because its a "big time game"?
WTF is wrong with you? All those guys are 2nd year players, except WJ - who's a true freshman. They all have things to learn, just like CJ. He paid last week by not sniffing the field again - in a game that was under control and ripe for a 3rd string back to get experience. If he was clean during practice, he'll get a few plays today. We'll see if he fares any better (or worse) than all the other 2nd year players on the team.
October 1st, 2022 at 9:57 AM ^
Edwards did fumble early in his career in 2021 (I want to say against Northern Illinois?). But he learned from it and got better. Stokes will too.
October 1st, 2022 at 9:37 AM ^
Wut? Everyone fumbles some time. It just happens. Watch. Stokes is going to be really good for us later in the year. He has got that push the pile tendency in him.
October 1st, 2022 at 11:56 AM ^
Eh…I mean, that’s a bit of an overreaction don’t you think? What happens when JJ throws his first INT? Should he never play in another big game either?
September 30th, 2022 at 10:50 PM ^
Washington’s kicker just tripped UCLA’s kick returner. By kicking him.
ed: wrong thread. Awesome news though. I think playcalling changed with him out.
October 1st, 2022 at 3:33 AM ^
... As there’s a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, it will be a home run. And so that’ll make it a 4–0 ballgame.
October 1st, 2022 at 3:53 AM ^
Come for the sports, stay for the thoughtful humor.
September 30th, 2022 at 10:56 PM ^
RBs had 8 catches against Iowa last year. WRs only had 5. I think Edwards ability to catch passes against their LBs could be a huge benefit.
October 1st, 2022 at 6:07 AM ^
Really opens things up when they have to defend this also
September 30th, 2022 at 11:35 PM ^
Depth behind Corum is one of my biggest concerns, so this is a welcome bit of intel (if true). If this game resorts to being a slobber knocker, we'll need every RB we can get our hands on.
October 1st, 2022 at 7:52 AM ^
If this game resorts to being a slobber knocker
Yup could be a real donnybrook
October 1st, 2022 at 12:18 AM ^
Excellent -- let's be sure to utilize him as a receiver -- and as a passer, of course ;-)
October 1st, 2022 at 6:17 AM ^
Glad to hear it. I don’t hold 1 (hopefully) fluke fumble against stokes, the kid looks legit. Having Edwards explosiveness back should pay huge dividends.
October 1st, 2022 at 7:11 AM ^
What’s the story with Erick All? I’ve heard basically nothing about him but he didnt play last week. The announcers said nothing about him and neither did MGoPodcast or the WTKA roundtable.
October 1st, 2022 at 8:07 AM ^
The tidbits are an injury to either end his season and be ready for the draft healthy. Or play through it and not be ready for the combined. If I’m wrong on the specifics someone please correct me.
October 1st, 2022 at 10:40 AM ^
That's pretty much it, except if he does elect for surgery (which would end his season) it's not a foregone conclusion he goes into the draft, he may come back one more year.
October 1st, 2022 at 7:19 AM ^
Even if he’s on a snap count, just being out there to spell Corum and lighten some of the load is huge.
Any word on Keegan or All?
October 1st, 2022 at 8:04 AM ^
We’re on a need-to-know basis with injuries this year
October 1st, 2022 at 8:33 AM ^
Pretty sure All done for the year and Keegan was close to being back 4 games ago. So...
Speaking of close to being back 4 games ago, so is NHG. I'd like to see him back in the lineup today.
October 1st, 2022 at 9:25 AM ^
That’s what I thought I heard with All as well, but that rumor was circulating a week or two ago.
If he truly is done for the year, then why the big secret? Why not just come and say it? That’s making me think there’s still a chance he comes back this year.

El Hadinis pretty nimble for a big fella.

NHG was still limping hard at last week’s game. Would be pleasantly surprised if he’s a go.
