I can't remember.
August 25th, 2022 at 5:11 PM ^
Vladimir Konstantinov, oh what his career could have been.
August 25th, 2022 at 6:14 PM ^
It's true that he might've had many good years left, but he got several in and made his mark:

Thank you for that, I didn’t realize he played 6 years with Detroit. I guess I should have thought of him more.
j/k

This is the correct answer to the contradictory poser that the OP has set before us.
August 25th, 2022 at 5:41 PM ^
If I think of an athlete I previously hadn't thought of in a while, I have now thought of that athlete quite recently and they will no longer qualify as a proper response to this post topic.
Therefore, "I can't remember" is, in fact, the most correct answer.

Abed?
August 25th, 2022 at 9:16 PM ^
Atlanta was so fantastic. I’d love to see an Atlanta/community mashup. Though I think Donald Glover is now cooler than Community.
August 25th, 2022 at 11:03 PM ^
Pfft nobody is cooler than Community.
August 25th, 2022 at 11:18 PM ^
pfft = polyphonic fast fourier transform.
August 25th, 2022 at 10:16 PM ^
I covered this with the “or that you think others haven’t thought of in a while” clause
August 25th, 2022 at 5:43 PM ^
Well, I was going to offer what Harbaugh's Lef ... wrote. (Is there such a thing as pre-plagiarism?)
So instead: Fielding Yost.
August 25th, 2022 at 7:54 PM ^
Don't forget about C.J. Kupec.
August 25th, 2022 at 10:05 PM ^
And I will raise you Paul Heuerman.

School: Michigan
Draft: Phoenix Suns, 5th round (20th pick, 112th overall), 1981 NBA draft

There's a whole bunch of Spartan and Buckeye athletes I haven't thought about in a very long while. So long that I cannot remember any of their names. Oh, well, I guess they were just grains of sand in the hourglass of time.
August 26th, 2022 at 12:35 PM ^
Shawn Kemp
Joey Harrington
Johnnie Morton
Freddy Adu
August 25th, 2022 at 4:56 PM ^
Very bizarre post

Steve the Pirate

I have mixed feelings about posts that prompt many complaints about it AND many responses.
That apparently means my mixed feelings reflect the MGoBlogosphere's mixed feelings.

I know one can be overwhelmed and underwhelmed, but can one just be........whelmed?
August 25th, 2022 at 10:47 PM ^
I think you can in Europe.
August 26th, 2022 at 7:05 AM ^
In Europe now. Can confirm the existence of whelming. Burano was whelming, for example.
August 26th, 2022 at 5:47 AM ^
OP is definitely crowd sourcing lyrics for his sports version of “we didn’t start the fire”
August 26th, 2022 at 7:26 PM ^
“Harry Truman, Antonio Bass …” Almost done.
August 25th, 2022 at 5:02 PM ^
Apparently the OP's answer to the question is "All of them."
August 25th, 2022 at 5:03 PM ^
Weird post, but I'll bite.
Damion Easley. That is all.
August 25th, 2022 at 6:08 PM ^
I will up you a Gary Pettis
August 25th, 2022 at 9:49 PM ^
Gary Payton
August 26th, 2022 at 4:20 AM ^
Nah, I was just thinking about him.
August 25th, 2022 at 10:15 PM ^
Pettis' fabulous play in center field was the highlight of that awful '89 Tigers season
August 25th, 2022 at 5:03 PM ^
Mike Utley
👍
August 26th, 2022 at 8:54 AM ^
I'd say Eric Andolsek but I think about him every time I mow the lawn and have to step into the road to turn the mower around. I ALWAYS look both ways.
Those years for the Lions were just tragic, with both Utley and Andolsek playing on the same OL. This was just a couple years after the Reggie Rogers situation. Ugh.
August 25th, 2022 at 5:03 PM ^
Man, when does Antonio Bass' knee get back to 100%? Any word out there? Dude was gonna be a beast!
August 26th, 2022 at 7:53 AM ^
Kinda weird to think there's an alternate universe out there where Denard's scouting report was something like "he's Antonio Bass... But fast!"
August 25th, 2022 at 5:06 PM ^
RH: Hey man, why you where that hard hat in the field? You know, Rickey once knew a guy when Rickey played with the Blue Jays who did the same thing, helmet in the field.
JO: Yeah Rickey, that was me.
August 25th, 2022 at 7:29 PM ^
Rickey is the greatest! I quit watching baseball when he retired.
August 25th, 2022 at 9:54 PM ^
YES! Excellent work! Ricky Henderson was hilarious and one of great ballplayer. John Olerud is one of my all-time favorite Mets.
August 26th, 2022 at 9:48 AM ^
Where is someone wearing a hard hat ...we’re wearing a hole in it while we were waiting for the game to start
August 25th, 2022 at 5:07 PM ^
Eric Lindross and Kevin Garnet were both really close to playing for Michigan back in the 90s
August 25th, 2022 at 5:19 PM ^
Taco Pants
and I would like it to stay that way.
August 25th, 2022 at 5:20 PM ^
I heard Seneca Wallace’s name the other day, and I was instantly sent in a time warp to 2002 when we all thought Iowa State was going to be amazing with him after beating FSU, and QB’s of his nature were kind of few and far between in that era…..then reality hit them the back half of the schedule.
But it was a fun ride down memory lane to my early teens.
August 25th, 2022 at 10:18 PM ^
Don't want to spoil the memory, as it's still a good one, but FSU won that game...
August 25th, 2022 at 5:21 PM ^
1980s German tennis wunderkind Boris Becker.
August 25th, 2022 at 5:45 PM ^
You can't conjure Boris without Ivan (Lendl).
August 25th, 2022 at 5:55 PM ^
Shit, Andre Agassi’s mullet just shot into my brain. That’s gonna take a while to shake
August 25th, 2022 at 5:57 PM ^
