Um, did the ball hit the ground? Did that stand as an INT??

Yes it did...stand as an INT.

I was at the draft the year they picked him. My friend was drunk and screamed “What the fuck are they doing?!” Bartender cut us all off, but it was raining, so we stayed at the bar anyway.

Congrats to Dax on the pick, but isn't that just more a "right place at the right time" type of thing? Either way, he's been looking good and looking forward to Dax in the NFL for years to come.

What are you talking about? He goes completely horizontal and makes the layout pick an inch from the ground. It's not like he was just standing there and the ball hit him in the mask.

He's talking about the ball horribly deflecting off the TEs hands 20yards downfield to a spot Dax could go make a play on. Tip drill. It was cool. It wasn't some elite coverage interception. It wasn't an interception at all, really.

On both hands.

He's a good player. And thorough.

Elite talent combined with deep knowledge of schemes, thorough prep, and on field discipline make for the ideal NFL safety.
Dax should have a long and successful career as a leader in the secondary.

[That's my quarterback voice] That's my five-star safety

Dude has balled out in first two preseason games. He will see significant snaps in the regular season as a rookie because (1) he’s good and (2) he’ll be stepping in for Jessie Bates next year. Hell I guess it’s possible he could be stepping in for him this year if the guy doesn’t show up to play on his franchise tag.

And as a side note, there’s the NFL for you: and interior OL has the speed, agility and experience to take him down in space on that return. Those guys are just incredible athletes.
A good friend played RB at Michigan, and he likes to say that in HS if he got the corner, it was only the DBs who had a chance at him. In D1, it was the LBs. When he made the NFL, he realized the DLs could do it. Freaky athleticism among those men.
