The list from the linked site is a little misleading as those are the markets where this is available. This includes the Ann Arbor 20 + IMAX theater on Carpenter Rd. (actually in Ypsi).

I was wondering if this was on the list considering it’s about 10 minutes from my house and I figured it’s quite empty right now.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:29 PM ^
This is a terrible idea in the age of Covid.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:32 PM ^
I suppose you could try watching at Disney World instead...
December 20th, 2021 at 1:45 PM ^
They actually have a movie theater at Disney Springs. Too bad it's not on that list...
December 20th, 2021 at 1:50 PM ^
We've been there. I believe we watched How to Train Your Dragon 2 at Downtown Disney (what it was called back then). I found it a little ironic that we'd watch a Dreamworks movie on Disney property, but I'm probably the only one.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:28 PM ^
I’m on the flight home from Disney World. Thought Corona would have been gone by now when I booked six months ago. I guess Omicron is rampant down here.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:44 PM ^
Not necessarily, based on how many people they allow in. It would be safer to watch the game in a theater where everybody is spread out, as opposed to someone's house where everybody's crammed into a living room. Again, if there are no capacity restrictions, then strike what I said.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:46 PM ^
I suppose you think games should be played in empty stadiums as well?
December 20th, 2021 at 3:18 PM ^
Is the movie theater outside?
December 20th, 2021 at 2:38 PM ^
Then stay home. The rest of us are moving on with almost zero risk if vaccinated and barely more than zero risk if not. It's time to move on.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:43 PM ^
barely more than zero risk if not.
I’m not even mad. I’m dumbfounded. JFC.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:47 PM ^
Those with prior covid infection have about a 19% protection and those boosted (all three doses) have about 80%. Protection here only means from serious illness; Omicron’s breakthrough rate for those vaccinated is high, unfortunately.
December 20th, 2021 at 5:31 PM ^
Yes…just listen to Fauci already. He’s been right at essentially every turn.
December 20th, 2021 at 4:31 PM ^
Why anyone would prefer to be inside of a tightly packed and dark movie theater with the movie theater food/drink options instead of a sports bar or even your living room is beyond me. And that's even without worrying about your increased risk for exposure to Covid.
December 21st, 2021 at 1:22 AM ^
Some people like that really big screen.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:33 PM ^
No place in Virginia? I feel left out...
December 20th, 2021 at 2:05 PM ^
Agreed and you couldn't pay me to go to Baltimore.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:41 PM ^
Not that I want to watch in a movie theatre anyway...I'm surprised there is not one in North Carolina?
December 21st, 2021 at 2:08 AM ^
Because we're a basketball state.....heelllloooooo?!
December 20th, 2021 at 2:48 PM ^
Sort of bizarre there is not a DC area offering. I live on the Maryland side and Hanover (near BWI) is still too far to make it worth it for me.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:34 PM ^
I mean they've got to try something to stave off their impending doom. With the prevalence of streaming, affordable high quality tvs, outrageous ticket prices and the pandemic, it's a wonder that movie theaters are still in business...
December 20th, 2021 at 2:15 PM ^
Look at Spider-Man...I could hardly find a parking spot last night. This whole "movie theaters are doomed" belief is bullshit.
December 20th, 2021 at 3:33 PM ^
Tell me what other movie has done this since February of 2020.
December 20th, 2021 at 4:07 PM ^
Dune was a pretty big success as well.
December 20th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Halloween kills made a nice chunk in October.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:37 PM ^
Does a $10 concessions package consist of a box of Junior Mints?
December 20th, 2021 at 1:42 PM ^
That would be a major concession.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:21 PM ^
It includes 2 coca colas.
#brandoned
December 20th, 2021 at 3:29 PM ^
BOGO style.
December 20th, 2021 at 5:03 PM ^
I'd like to teach the world to sing . . . Hail to the Victors.
December 20th, 2021 at 3:34 PM ^
They're very refreshing!
December 21st, 2021 at 8:03 AM ^
I used to freeze my junior mints when I'd get home from theater.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:37 PM ^
Pay money to watch 3 hours of commercials in a theater. Excuse me if I'm not tripping over my own feet in a rush to do this. Yikes.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:06 PM ^
Maybe if they played The Killers' Mr. Brightside video instead of the commercials.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:41 PM ^
I don't think I want $12 popcorn and $8 cokes with a sticky floor while watching the game.
No thank-you!
December 20th, 2021 at 2:21 PM ^
I have a toddler, sticky floors aren't exactly uncommon in my home.
December 20th, 2021 at 6:14 PM ^
Yeah, but you have a pretty good idea of the source of the stickiness on the floors in your house. Not the same in a theater: spilled soda if you're lucky, but ...
December 20th, 2021 at 1:42 PM ^
Great idea. Wish it was in Chicago
December 20th, 2021 at 1:44 PM ^
It's better to show games on the big screen than to watch the vast majority of crap coming out of hollywood.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:58 PM ^
IDK, took my kids to see Clifford the Big Red Dog last night. My 6-year old loved it.
It was also nice that we were literally the only people in the theatre, everyone else was there for SpiderMan.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:48 PM ^
This actually looks fun to me. My son and I might watch it in Cincinnati since that is only an hour away for us.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:52 PM ^
screaming at the screen only with trusted friends around is a salve for me.
i would probably get arrested if i went to a theater for this.
December 20th, 2021 at 3:11 PM ^
That's how I feel about it too. I would end up in jail or institutionalized if I went to the theater and watched a Michigan Football game (or a Michigan Basketball game) in the same manner that I watch it at home.
December 20th, 2021 at 3:20 PM ^
My wife still worries that I might have damaged our daughter with my screaming during Michigan games when she was an infant. So that would be a hard pass for me, too. Since I live in Tallahassee, where a lot of Georgians work, I would not hope to encounter a super-sympathetic crowd. Depending on the location, I could see fights breaking out; let's all hope for a clear outcome, unmediated by awful refereeing.
December 20th, 2021 at 1:52 PM ^
I just got a ticket in Seattle. Better than being in a standing room only bar. Thanks for posting about it.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:02 PM ^
I think it could be fun for a game I'm not too invested in. But for M football, if I'm not actually at the game, I'd much rather be at home on my own couch where there's no wait for drinks and no line for a bathroom.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:08 PM ^
That's fair. I won't be home for the game so this is a great option.
December 20th, 2021 at 2:01 PM ^
Great idea. Wish it was in Chicago
