UM Stays #6 in Coaches Poll for Week 9

Am I reading that correctly that someone has Michigan and Michigan State unranked?
October 24th, 2021 at 1:09 PM ^
No, that’s the highest and lowest they’ve been ranked at any point in the season
October 24th, 2021 at 1:40 PM ^
Why downvoted for asking a question?
October 24th, 2021 at 1:06 PM ^
Beat MSU.

Michigan v MSU on Fox, so ESPN Game day won't be there.
Fox and/or BTN may have pre-game festivities there.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:14 PM ^
Cincinnati moved up? OK moved down? Why? It is not like either of them did well.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:17 PM ^
Service academies are tough to deal with. I'm unsurprised Cincinnati didn't blow them out. Oklahoma has struggled almost every week. You can't struggle versus Kansas and not be "punished".
October 24th, 2021 at 1:38 PM ^
But apparently you can lose to unranked Texas A&M and not be punished. Oh, I'm sorry I must have missed how Texas A&M is now top 15 despite having lost to 2 unranked teams themselves.
And I thought the Big 10 refs were corrupt...
October 24th, 2021 at 1:55 PM ^
BINGO.... BAMA gets so much special treatment its not funny anymore..
October 24th, 2021 at 2:00 PM ^
They've earned the benefit of the doubt.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:56 PM ^
Sooooo what team ranked below (or above other than Georgia) would be favored against and is better than bama? Sorry but Bama is probably the second best team in the country behind Georgia. If you think otherwise I’d love to hear why.
October 24th, 2021 at 4:06 PM ^
Pains me to say this, but I'd say aOSU has a stronger case for #2. They lost to a good Oregon team, and are demolishing everything in their path.
It's close, IMO. 'Bama has more good wins, but a worse loss.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:58 PM ^
OU has been pulling out games against weak opponents every week. When and if they finally play a good team it will catch up to them
October 24th, 2021 at 1:16 PM ^
Penn St falls to 17. If they lose to Ohio St how far would they fall?
October 24th, 2021 at 1:29 PM ^
If they get crushed, like it appears they will, I don't see an argument for them to still be ranked. They'd be 4-3 with three straight losses.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:42 PM ^
PSU won't "lose" to OSU - they're going to get curb stomped and a lot of that has to do with PSU just not being a very good football team
October 25th, 2021 at 5:22 AM ^
... off the cliff ...
October 24th, 2021 at 1:19 PM ^
Bama struggles against Tennessee, moves up. Makes sense.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:29 PM ^
52-24 is a struggle?
October 24th, 2021 at 1:53 PM ^
It was 31-24 one minute into the 4th quarter. The final margin doesn't indicate how close the game was.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:00 PM ^
Aren’t games 4 quarters long? They blew out the vols no matter how you try to spin it
October 24th, 2021 at 9:07 PM ^
Depends on the narrative you are trying to spin
October 25th, 2021 at 5:33 AM ^
I’m guessing you didn’t actually watch that game, because they definitely struggled for the first three quarters.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:40 PM ^
A Tennessee team who has beat 4 opponents that are a combined 12-19. With respect to Ohio State, I know Indiana is 2-5, but every loss is to a ranked team. Alabama's loss is to the #17 team, which has two losses, while Ohio State lost to the #12 ranked team who only has one loss. If Alabama is good enough to pass OU, why not Ohio State? Hell, you could say OU is lucky to be #4; they could have easily been tripped up against Nebraska, Texas, or Kansas.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:20 PM ^
So let me get this straight, OSU is the 2nd best team in OHIO. Are they still THEEEEEE ohio state university then???
Seriously, as much as I HATE OSU, they would beat the living shit out of Cincy. Cincy is such a fraud for so many reasons, they almost let 1-5 Navy tie up the game.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:51 PM ^
Sure OSU would beat them. How are they fraudulent?
October 24th, 2021 at 1:56 PM ^
In that they are not the 2nd best team in the country.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:01 PM ^
Ah I misunderstood “for so many reasons”
October 24th, 2021 at 2:19 PM ^
How are they a fraud? Because they one game where they didn't play well against a service academy? They've lost one game in the last year and a half and that one loss being by 7 points to Georgia...
October 24th, 2021 at 2:32 PM ^
Objectively look at their strength of schedule and how many top tier teams are they playing. Great they play 1, maybe 2 "good", or "great" teams and win. Put them in the B1G and they are middle of the pack.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:41 PM ^
If they play a Big 10 schedule as an AAC member yes they are middle of the pack. If they are actually in the Big 10 it’s a different story.
October 24th, 2021 at 3:15 PM ^
Ok when or if that happens I will reevaluate my comment, but right now they play in the AAC and are vastly overrated.
October 24th, 2021 at 9:12 PM ^
How many top-tier teams are we playing? One, maybe two? We don't exactly have any big wins so should we drop in the rankings?
October 24th, 2021 at 1:34 PM ^

October 24th, 2021 at 1:35 PM ^
The Big Ten is OSU and all these teams that could beat each other in any given week. Sure Nebraska pissed down its leg but they have been right there with everyone.
MSU/Michigan
Wisconsin
Iowa
Penn State
Minnesota
Nebraska (terrible record but competitive in game)
With 4 of those teams being top 10 in college football it really shows the drop off from tier 1 teams (Bama Georgia OSU). Losses to Purdue, Illinois, and Bowling Green from that group shows how far off our non-Osu teams really are. Imagine Bama or Georgia playing Illinois, Purdue, or Bowling green. I also think Oklahoma will be cannon fodder if they make the playoff. Interesting year but in the end its the same story. I wish bama and georgia were in the same division so everyone can give Georgia shit for not winning anything.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:08 PM ^
Well, Minnesota best Purdue, who beat Illinois, who beat Penn State, who beat Auburn, who beat Arkansas, who beat Texas A&M, who beat Alabama so....
October 24th, 2021 at 6:55 PM ^
So, we should also be ranked ahead of Alabama. I agree.
October 24th, 2021 at 1:46 PM ^
Half of the top 11 reside in the Midwest. Interesting.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:00 PM ^
About right. I still think OU would beat Cincy.
October 24th, 2021 at 2:05 PM ^
weak Oklahoma game is giving everyone an excuse for Alabama to move up.
