I wonder if Herbie thinks we’re still “waving the white flag”
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:22 PM ^
Who cares. Guy had to uproot his family once his wife found out he was cheating on her.
December 3rd, 2020 at 7:08 PM ^
She should've just kicked him to the curb and taken all his $ and whatever little dignity he has.
December 3rd, 2020 at 8:21 PM ^
You can fit all of Herbstreit's dignity into a Ziploc bag?
December 4th, 2020 at 3:05 PM ^
Man, I use to love Christina Applegate when I was a kid... still do!
December 4th, 2020 at 1:53 PM ^
Guy had to uproot his family once his wife found out he was cheating on her.
You mean a wealthy (semi) famous guy wasn't faithful to his wife? I can't imagine that.
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:36 PM ^
I don't know the B1G rules on this. Would this mean The Game is definitely canceled or are there other issues still to be sorted out first?
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:51 PM ^
12 positives is certainly above the threshold. (it's the same number that shut Wisconsin down for 2 weeks.) Teams must suspend play once there is > 5% staff and players. I'm not totally sure how big that net is but there are about a 100 + players and 60 related staff.
So if they test again next week and the number is below 8 on Tuesday they could play as long as there are no new cases,
Of course no player who tested positive can play.
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:52 PM ^
Depends on whether the B1G can finagle OSU into the Big Ten championship game without the use of Michigan's services that particular weekend.
December 3rd, 2020 at 8:54 PM ^
I’d say it’s about 90% likely that OSU plays in the B10 Champ game regardless of how many games they played. The rules will be changed.
December 4th, 2020 at 10:49 AM ^
If your going to change the RULES JUST to placate OSU then whose running this conference?
December 4th, 2020 at 12:19 PM ^
Do you REALLY have to ask this?
December 4th, 2020 at 12:02 PM ^
It doesn't matter whether they play Northwestern or Wisconsin. Probably better for them if they play Wisconsin in terms of optics for the committee if Wisconsin beats IU and Iowa (both currently ranked in the CFP rankings).
If OSU beats MSU and Wisconsin, they'll be in the playoff.
December 4th, 2020 at 3:26 PM ^
Still rooting for IU vs. NW. Classic grid-iron matchup.
Waiting for an ACC championship of Duke vs. Syracuse and SEC championship of Vandy vs. Miss St.
December 3rd, 2020 at 9:12 PM ^
The agenda was clear from the B1G when it decided have a season.
The only reason to play this season is because we want OSU in the playoffs. All of you other idiots we couldn't care less about because we know you want to play at all costs... so have at it. Our number one agenda is OSU...fuck the rest of you, we'd give our own grandmothers Covid, not alone change the rules, to get Ohio State in the playoffs.
The B1G doesn't need MSU or Michigan, they'll make it up as it goes. Shit is blatantly happening right before our eyes.
December 3rd, 2020 at 10:15 PM ^
i think if any team in the B1G could show that they can compete for the playoffs, the B1G would be happy.
December 4th, 2020 at 12:32 AM ^
12 positives? It must be the same 12 guys that practice so well during the week.
December 4th, 2020 at 8:07 AM ^
Do you think OSU has a better chance of making the playoff by beating NW in a Big Ten title game or by beating Wisconsin in a 2 vs 2 matchup? I would think that beating WI would look better on their resume but maybe style points against NW would factor in.
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:22 PM ^
Scary. I hope everyone recovers and has no terrible symptoms.
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:29 PM ^
Your message vs your handle...
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:53 PM ^
I mean if modern medicine can find a cure for Bond’s superherpes then COVID should be child’s play in comparison.
December 3rd, 2020 at 8:13 PM ^
I am available over the counter.
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:25 PM ^
This is the only positive thing about this team this year.......hey ohhhhh
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:27 PM ^
In a couple weeks, these COVID results will come back not detected...just like our defense.
December 3rd, 2020 at 7:50 PM ^
....and just like our offense.
December 3rd, 2020 at 8:21 PM ^
Why leave our special teams?
December 4th, 2020 at 8:43 AM ^
Giles Jackson would like to have a word with you.
Come on, can't we at least find 12 positives about the team?
December 4th, 2020 at 8:49 AM ^
Giles Jackson is definitely a positive (as in good not covid). I was thinking more about our field goal kicking but you’re right. Giles Jackson is awesome to watch return kicks.
December 4th, 2020 at 9:43 AM ^
So you are just going to not mention those 3 field goals we made? Only focus on the 6 terrible misses? Probably focusing more on our 4 horrible losses rather than the win over powerhouse Minnesota and triple overtime win over East coast power house Rutger.
That's right, that's a triple overtime win over the first team to play football. But sure, focus on the fact that we had one of our most embarrassing losses in our over 100 year history, or our loss to one of the worst MSU teams of the past 20 years.
You seem like a glass 90% empty type of guy, rather than a 10% full type of guy.
You live in your reality. I'll gladly sit here with my eyes closed, ears plugged yelling "I can't hear you" like a child. I say good day to you!
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:26 PM ^
12 positives having to sit out the OSU game on top of other injured players. At the point where a 20 point loss would be a moral victory
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:42 PM ^
20? It would be a minor miracle if we could keep it within 40
December 3rd, 2020 at 10:58 PM ^
What would the line be for the game under these circumstances?? Michigan + 24.5?? The sad part is I would still take OSU. Michigan should just shut it down for the rest of the season. Fuck OSU any way possible. If you can’t beat them on the field at least ruin their chances of making the B1G championship game and the playoffs. With an off season of letting McNamara work with the ones and hopefully at least a new defensive coordinator Michigan will be a respectable team next season and possibly shock the world and beat those shit stains from Columbus.
December 4th, 2020 at 12:18 AM ^
24.5? Way low. It would likely be about 35 points. Ridiculous.
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:42 PM ^
20 point loss was probably gong to happen with a full roster. The only numbers this team can put up against OSU is positive Covid tests
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:55 PM ^
That’s why I said a 20 point loss with even more players missing would be a moral victory
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:55 PM ^
The Broncos lost 31-3 playing a WR at QB. I would take that result in a heartbeat. There's no way OSU is letting up against us. They need to put up a big number to impress the committee. 70-10, if we have McNamara or Milton playing. 78-0 if not.
December 3rd, 2020 at 9:55 PM ^
It's worth remembering that anyone who was positive for OSU during their outbreak won't be able to play against UM. I'll make my score prediction after seeing who is on the field for OSU Saturday against MSU. That being said, I think it's a 30 point minimum.
December 4th, 2020 at 9:55 AM ^
Those guys will be back for Michigan, raback it
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:42 PM ^
Is that bad?
December 3rd, 2020 at 6:45 PM ^
Very Simple . Big Ten should get its head out of its ass and announce now.. Michigan and Minnesota out for 12/12
OSU plays Maryland
Rutgers plays Nebraska
The 3 newcomers gets screwed over. You're welcome for the checks you don't deserve
Be sure to tip your waitresses.
December 3rd, 2020 at 7:13 PM ^
Makes a lot of sense. Still unclear how Ohio St has a Covid outbreak but is set to play Sparty on Saturday? Radio silence as far as percentage of positive cases so what exactly is going on there?

I hate them as much as anyone around here but to make back handed comments like this or to question if they are not being honest pretty much sums up how I view our fanbase at this point. classless. Herbstreit makes a snide remark about us and its righteous indignation from the group, how DARE he question us we are WINNINGEST PROGRAM IN HISTORY, but they pause their workouts out of precaution and we immediately say they put $$$ over peoples health. It's no wonder so many fucking people hate us, I can barely stand our own fans at this point. They had a large zoom call with their AD, Doc and Day and they discussed they had a few cases come up but it sounded like it was more from staffers than players so they proceeded with caution and didn't have an "outbreak". flame away, downvote, Idgaf anymore around here. we have become the most self righteous group of people its beyond comical
December 3rd, 2020 at 8:25 PM ^
While I certainly don't condone unfounded claims in either direction, Michigan fans are far from the only hypocritical fanbase. Take a stroll on over to eleven warriors if you want to see true hypocrisy in action. Also, I did not see any "analysts" suggesting OSU would fudge their numbers in order to play, but we certainly saw one suggest Michigan would fudge numbers to avoid playing. There is a giant chasm of difference between a salty blog comment (which does not represent the thoughts of an entire fanbase) and a supposedly "unbiased" CFB analyst. That is a false equivalency. To your point, Barry Alvarez suggesting that the B$G is considering changing the rules specifically for one team because they have the best shot at a playoff berth sums up how I view the conference and all of CFB. Classless...
December 4th, 2020 at 7:41 AM ^
Well if OSU does get into the playoff, since OSU and the conference are classless and UM is so far superior, please tell Warde Manuel not to cash the check that Michigan gets based off OSU being in the playoffs.
December 4th, 2020 at 8:38 AM ^
Gimme a break, I could give two shits how hypocritical their fan base is, I care about ours, the perception from future players and students. I also don't give a shit what Herbstreit thinks or says. ever. your last comment about Alvarez saying they would consider changing the rules only proves my point, if we were rocking and rolling along and 4-0 and in the same place as they are we ( and I bet you) would be screaming from the hills how they need to rethink the rules.
December 3rd, 2020 at 9:19 PM ^
I hate them as much as anyone around here but...
Anything leading off before a but, is usually a lie.
December 3rd, 2020 at 7:58 PM ^
Really, you think they are burying positives?
