I’m sure Milton and the offense looks Amazing in practice going against our defense.

I hear Erik Ball catches everything thrown his way in practice.

He practices with Nerf footballs

Who cares? What did you expect him to say?

“We’re terrible and my seat is getting really really hot.”

Something about milk, steak, and physicality.

I like my milk steak boiled over, hard, with a side of raw jelly beans

Games like this and last week have put a lot of steel in our spine.

“Honestly, I don’t drink whole milk at all due to my being a vegan.”
November 7th, 2020 at 9:04 PM ^
Mel Tucker had much stronger comments about his team's performance today than anything Harbaugh has ever said after a loss (other than OSU '16).
November 7th, 2020 at 9:13 PM ^
The Jim Harbaugh UM hired died that day in Columbus. Not going to speculate on what happened or be a source of crap rumors, but this is not the same guy that coached at Stanford, 49ers, or first 2 years at UM.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
We all miss 2016 Harbaugh.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:51 PM ^
The regents don't.
November 8th, 2020 at 12:09 AM ^
I'm not sure when exactly it was but Harbaugh got a bullshit unsportsmanlike behavior call at a crucial point of a game (maybe 2016) and he's never been the same since. Its like the passion drained right out of him.
November 8th, 2020 at 8:22 AM ^
"...maybe 2016..."
You seriously call yourself a Michigan football fan? That game is etched into our soles... You know what happened in that game.
November 8th, 2020 at 9:05 AM ^
Ummm, just to be clear the “Harbaugh Rule” happened against OSU. Sheesh.
November 7th, 2020 at 8:37 PM ^
Harbaugh sounded heavily medicated too. He was stumbling over words and overall incoherent.
November 7th, 2020 at 8:40 PM ^
I also accidentally took too much Xanax once, and then drank a couple drams of bourbon.
November 7th, 2020 at 8:48 PM ^
This theory that he is medicated needs to die a quick death. There is no supporting evidence and it’s just as fucking dumb as some of the conspiracies we’ve heard the last couple days.
November 7th, 2020 at 10:23 PM ^
He's not medicated. He gave his ll to get us to that point in 2016 and had it stolen from him. That's deflating.
Then made a comeback and had a good chance last year and Browns D collapsed... And did he year prior.
He knows it's ominous now because the players on D were recruited for now realized gimmick D. so can't change it without further pain. This is why he looks this way. Defeat. He's never had it.

Daily reminder that the call on the field and subsequent review were correct.
November 7th, 2020 at 11:50 PM ^
Says the impartial one....
November 8th, 2020 at 3:30 AM ^
If you think the only problem with the officiating that day was the spot you need to rewatch it. The entire game was called in a one sided manner.
November 8th, 2020 at 10:54 AM ^
Here ya go. This video doesn't even show "the spot" because it was irrelevant. Michigan handed the Buckeyes their asses in regulation and got hosed worse than I've ever seen.
Michigan clearly has the better team, so the Big Ten allows previously banned refs to ref the game? LOL!!!
All of you, cut it with the "Urban to Michigan" talk. He'd never come here, and he'd never work out here. He wouldn't be coddled like he was at OSU.
November 7th, 2020 at 11:04 PM ^
Okay, fine. Maybe Harbaugh isn't taking prescription meds but he's hitting the damn bong at a minimum. I know the look man. That guys been suckin' on a fatty....
November 7th, 2020 at 8:55 PM ^
Harbaugh is not the same man. I’m not sure he doesn’t have real mental issues he is dealing with. Guy has always come off quite Bi-Polar / manic. Many mood stabilizing drugs can definitely mute your personality.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:29 PM ^
So your evidence is that he’s not the same man. How well do you know him? And he “comes off as quite Bi-Polar/Manic.” How long have you been practicing psychology, and what are the symptoms of quite Bi-Polar?
Holy shit this place after a couple losses.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:57 PM ^
Well, I have worked in the Neurology / Psychiatry field for over 13 years. Does that count?
November 7th, 2020 at 10:00 PM ^
Not really, but you should know then that diagnosing someone based on their public behavior is a dubious task.
November 7th, 2020 at 10:33 PM ^
LOL. I’m not giving a clinical diagnosis, simply observing his behavior. To anyone that has followed his career and what has been said about him and his interviews....it isn’t a stretch to think he is dealing with a mood disorder.
November 7th, 2020 at 10:07 PM ^
I call bullshit in that. No real professional would make the comment you made.
November 8th, 2020 at 12:14 AM ^
Sure they would. If hiding behind an anonymous handle.
November 8th, 2020 at 12:14 AM ^
Not true at all. I saw a doctor make an educated opinion about Steve Jobs' cancer from a distance.
Harbaugh is a fricken zombie after that game.
November 8th, 2020 at 10:36 AM ^
You a Doctor? Or licensed in your state of employment to make diagnosis? Then no I don’t care if you change sheets at some rehab.
November 7th, 2020 at 8:58 PM ^
Jim has never been great in interviews imo. There’s just a strangeness to him.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:20 PM ^
Oh God, can people just say say they don't think Harbaugh is a good coach anymore without all of this mental acuity BS. It's like a couple years ago when this very site insinuated Harbaugh was suffering from CTE. It's offensive and tiring.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:31 PM ^
If you don’t think CTE might be an issue, you’re putting your head in the sand.
November 7th, 2020 at 10:50 PM ^
So he somehow was able to be a great coach at Stanford, the NFL, and the first couple years at UM but then, 17 years after he last played organized football he suddenly developed massive symptoms of CTE that rendered him unable to do his job? The far more likely reason he's struggling right now if his team isn't all that talented and perhaps they have tuned him out. That's way more likely and may necessitate a change at the top this offseason. But "oh, it's a brain injury why his team can't cover anyone downfield" is asinine.
November 7th, 2020 at 11:40 PM ^
I suggest you do a little research on CTE.
Some signs and symptoms of CTE are thought to include difficulties with thinking (cognition), physical problems, emotions and other behaviors. It's thought that these develop years to decades after head trauma occurs.
November 8th, 2020 at 9:26 AM ^
Again, all of this is anecdotal and based on incredibly broad definitions. Even that link highlights that it's a complex relationship and can be hard to determine whether or not the broad possible symptoms (depression, impulsive behavior, diminished executive function) apply or not. I mean, a couple years ago people thought Harbaugh had it because his sideline demeanor "changed" after losing to OSU in 2016. They thought he was set in his ways and wasn't willing to change his offense or outlook. Then after some more dispiriting offensive performances he hired Josh Gattis and let him largely overhaul major parts of the offense, which would point to the lack of impulsive behavior and solid executive function. But now these same people assume he is showing mental health degradation because he isn't firing Don Brown right now. And this was after he apparently turned off the 49ers by going 8-8 but then came back energized at UM.
My point is that the internet has an awful record at diagnosing mental health conditions in real-time for people; I'll stay out of politics but we just lived through a ton of this talk that was mostly partisan BS intent on fitting a narrative that served a side. Michigan lost 2 games in a row and the coach is a little dispirited - must be signed of cognitive decline. Michigan beats ND or MSU and Harbaugh is really excited - he's really energized again. It's a moving target that people try to graft onto these broad symptoms, and so they get used to prove a point unrelated to the actual disease and those who really do suffer from cognitive degradation. Could Harbaugh brain injuries from CTE? Sure. But even as that article states, the nature of the injuries and the resulting mental impact is complex and hard to distinguish; HS kids who barely played could suffer terribly while NFL All-Pros seemingly emerge unscathed. And as someone who has had family members suffer from various cognitive deficiencies, I'm perhaps overly sensitive to people arm-chair diagnosing others because they are unhappy with how their football team is playing and it's a coping mechanism for that.

November 8th, 2020 at 12:41 AM ^
No, his team stopped caring what he had to say a while ago.
November 7th, 2020 at 8:58 PM ^
Our team is full of inexperience. What do you expect. Let his contract run its course then start the coach talk.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:07 PM ^
And lose two recruiting cycles in the meantime? Nothing attracts a new coach like starting from the ground up with no players
November 8th, 2020 at 10:48 AM ^
Tell that to Mel Tucker.
November 7th, 2020 at 9:08 PM ^
I expect us to beat a shitty MSU squad and beat a good but beatable Indiana team. I would expect this every year.
