Bowl Schedule Announced
https://bowlseason.com/news/2020/10/30/2020-21-bowl-season-schedule-announced.aspx
Those with B1G Tie-Ins are all between December 26 and January 2. With the questionability of attendance, I was a bit surprised not to see some games between Jan 4-8, for TV purposes.

Who is hosting the Covid Bowl ?
October 30th, 2020 at 10:10 PM ^
That’s at my house. No masks required!

Fill my cup with December and January college football til it overfloweth.

I’m buying what you’re selling. Do you happen to have a brochure?

What's it all worth without the Quick Lane Bowl?

For whatever reason, I can't wrap my head around the idea of bowl games this season. It just feels weird to think about with the season extending into December. A conference season makes sense to me, but bowls seem to be more unnecessary than usual. It's not really logical, just how I'm thinking about this post season. If it were just the CFP/NY6, I think most people would be okay with that.

Maybe, but your “most people” would include exactly zero athletic directors.
The money is huge, and every bit of it counts at this point.

We will watch because...of course we will.
And we don't have to be miserable, there IS a point between no masks, don't tread on my rights, less than 1%, doesn't impact young people, you go live in your bunker if you want to...
And...can't be happy about anything until this pandemic is over, social issues are fixed and all is right in the world, until then, the sky is falling and my idol is Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.
These will be some of the best and only non-conference match-ups. They'll bring money to these departments that need it. And they'll give me something to watch over the holidays.
Give me ALL the bowls. I'll take the Bowl of Political Commentary Tears since we'll be past the election and people (as a whole) will be less interested in TMZ Politics.
Sparty wouldn't even be eligible for that though.

I like it personally because it wont interfere with work for most people off during the Dec 26-Jan 2 window

The Cure Bowl is probably the only one that doesn't get canceled.
October 30th, 2020 at 10:40 PM ^
Over/under on how many of these actually get played?
October 30th, 2020 at 10:57 PM ^
37 are scheduled, so I'm going to go with 32 as a guess. My theory is that another one or two get cancelled by the sponsor and 3-4 due to safety concerns. What says you?
October 30th, 2020 at 10:58 PM ^
All of them will be played, plenty of time for teams to get well prior to the Bowl games.

I agree with your thought, but do you think that they will stay in a bubble when they visit the towns the bowls are held in? I remember watching members of basketball teams walk down Bourbon St. while visiting New Orleans during the NCAA tournament. A lot of these players are human and may visit family members when in locations like Florida and unknowingly come in contact. I also imagine a lot of possible draft prospects will sit out bowls this year. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

High potential for it backfiring. Like “I got Covid at the Outback Bowl!”
October 30th, 2020 at 10:53 PM ^
Let me preface this by acknowledging this will never happen because of money/contacts. That being said, how cool would it be though on January 1st to stagger games every 30-45 minutes on the big four media networks and ESPN? It would give several teams to have a window where several college football fans across the country could watch them for one day. Not to mention the opportunity of having some very exciting outcomes to choose from. It would be similar to the NCAA basketball tournament in that way.

Should have a Corona Bowl in Mexico City

My bold prediction...every bowl not in California will allow partial spectatorship. I have a 200 dollar flight credit with American Airlines that expires on new years. C'mon Blue, give me a reason to use it!
