Who? What sport?
still have bball whiplash....
OP mentions Dudek, Giles Jackson...
WR. Composite 3* 0.8588
The 30th ranked player in Ohio? Yes please.
So that means OSU never offered
Correct, but Air Force did. If only Ball State had offered too that would keep the consistency going with our commits.
Football. WR Markus Allen probably. Low rated WR from Ohio but high priority target for Michigan’s staff
thanks for the extra info. had no idea and like i mentioned, was in a severe recruiting-whiplash-buckle-up crash last night and again this morning.

More info in this discussion Magnus started.
"morning" or "mourning"? (like I still am from the hoops horror)
False flag. I heard he's playing in Europe next year.
Are you guys considered Europe, Asia, or Eurasia? Too damn many beets for one country.
I’m never wearing my seatbelt here again.

Oh boy we're going to beat out Pittsburgh and MSU for the 149th ranked WR in the country.
Watch it Mr...The slaps are going to call you Maizen
Suck it Sparty.
(*Gotta enjoy the small things)
He would be MSU best recruit by quite a bit. But they are at least on the board a couple times now.
Yep, congrats to the kid if so but it's rather underwhelming quite frankly
What I would consider to be far more important than his player ranking is his offer list...who else wants him on scholarship. Based on his 247 offer list, he's not much of a "get". Obviously there's always that tiny chance that he just explodes and turns into a beast, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
Not going to call you Maizen, but I am going to remind people that we offered a WR a few years ago that didn't have a great offer sheet. I remember people bitching about it at the time. He was ranked LOWER than this kid at the time but he turned out to be pretty good.
Now most of you are thinking I am talking about Ronnie Bell....but this kid was from CA He ended up in the top 250 of his class and has kicked our ass the past few years at OSU = Chris Olave.
Point - This staff has done a pretty damn good job identifying WRs before many other programs so please try to keep the hand-wringing to a minimum.
Too soon
I’ll add that this staff has squandered more talent at WR than we have seen in a long time. The priority is RB, OL, DL, DB. When all of those needs are met, I’ll complain about a 3* WR who currently doesn’t have any worse of a chance at seeing the ball than a 5*. Until then, congrats to this gentleman.

Fair. But, 0-4 against doesn’t give confidence. We are have to beat them for it to hold merit
Well he does have better offers and a better ranking than our two defensive recruits. I still dont know how this is going to make the osu game competitive or get us close to a championship of some sort. It's easily the most frustrating aspect of the Harbaugh regime. We offer guys like Kurt Taylor and German Green who have no shot of playing here.
Right until he blows up to an high 4 star then OSU offers then he gone.
Are we doing this for low level 3 star commitments? Not that I'm one who worships the rankings but this seems a little overkill for someone who may never see meaningful time. Maybe he'll be like Ronnie Bell, but I don't even think that's super exciting. Leaving myself unbuckled.
I find Ronnie Bell exciting.
Not hating on Ronnie Bell, just seems rather cruel to do a vague buckle-up post for an unheralded talent in the wake of our hoops recruiting bad news. Dobry Dyen!
We buckle up for Michigan Men because this is Michigan.
Ronnie Bell is an excellent football player. If Allen turns out to be as good as Bell we will be excited.
The thing that does concern me is that we seem to be in a situation where we need to hit on a lot of diamonds in the rough rather than just a few.
It's been that way since Wheatley left. Harbaugh hired Gattis and Warriner to shake things up offensively but he seems set in his ways about not valuing recruiting. Mcelwain, Hamilton, Shoop, Drevno were all known non-factors on the trail when they were hired. Supposedly Dudek is liked by the players but I think Michigan has only signed 4 top 100 players while he has been here.

I am getting ready for all those that commented "I am no longer following recruiting" to jump on here with their hawt takes.
because it's the law.
Click it or ticket.
Isn't this the dude went with Marshall Mathers over to see Nicole... Heard a knock at the door jumped behind it and put the orgy on hold and smeared blood all over that white bronco?
We are really to the level now where we "buckle up" for any recruit no matter the stars?
Does JJ approve? How can we have a top QB talent and not be able to attract the elite WR? Guess this is the new normal.
Don’t worry our five star stud qb recruit will be grabbing all the top WRs when they hit the cammmmmmps. This. Summer. oh. Right. Of course the year we have a potentially transcendent qb recruit all summer camps will be canceled.
Rankings this year are probably going to be pretty down with no camps to evaluate kids. So I wouldn’t put a ton of stock in stars. I usually don’t in general.
Fuck, more of this? No thanks.
Beating out football royalty like Pitt is exactly what I think of when I see the phrase "buckle up". Best thing to happen to Michigan sports is for COVID to cancel the damn season.
Crystal Balls? Might as well be called GO FUCK YOURSELF MICHIGAN.
I have a better chance of surviving the crash then a low 3* burning OSU DB’s down the field.
Too be fair, those low 3*'s would get more targets than the high 4-5*'s WR's.
Because why would you ever incorporate NFL talented WR's into your game plan.
The best part about no Spring practice is we don't have to hear the hype train about four WR sets and forcing the ball to Nico. I'd rather fast forward to October where we hear about how what they practice doesn't make it into the gameplan.
we all should know by now
Crystal Ball = NOTHING, its a guess, nothing more nothing less.
How many times has Michigan had a player at 100% Crystal Balls and lost that player? 10+ times in the past 4-5 years
