Isaiah Todd decommits-going overseas

Perfect. I'm starting to understand why Coach Beilein thought the Cavs was a superior job to being a college coach.

Michigan is the Tantalus or Sisyphus of Greek mythology.
Both are peak Michigan. So close yet so far
Makes you wonder if the NBA got rid of the one and done rule how much that might help
It would help a lot. There is zero justification for keeping the rule.
Yeah i'd rather let the cocky 18 year old go pro flunk out of G league in 2 years with no degree and no future on his own choice rather than fuck schools who offer him a scholarship and expect him to honor it.,
The choice should be theirs and no one else's.
I think the whole college basketball scene is crumbling. There is no loyalty to anything--but "self", whether coaches, or players, and after a while, watching selfish people enjoy themselves, at the expense of the fan base's time and money, is becoming extremely boring
This can be extrapolated to most sports, college or professional
I stopped watching the NBA, I'm thinking next is college ball is next.
Might be too early but I think Juwan may have just had his "JT first down by inches" moment. That point in time where the program changes direction quickly and perhaps never fully recovers. It also reminds me of when, two years ago, everyone was picking us to beat OSU and we got destroyed. Its one thing to just lose but to talk of all these riches that never come to be, that's an entirely different BPONE.
Michigan's 2020 class WITHOUT Christopher or Todd is #1 in the big 10.
That is how historically big this class would have been. We are still fine to be a perennial 5 seed every year with maybe a final 4 every decade. but we were literally hours away from being back in the talks of Duke, Kentucky, Michigan. and putting little brother down to the 2nd best basketball school in michigan. so it hurts.
But we can still beat the big 10.

Keep the dong punches rolling; it’s my favorite part of being a Michigan fan.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:08 PM ^
Whoever thought to make sure his shoes came off is a genius. Best part of that whole clip...and accurate to how hard this kick is to MBB.
April 14th, 2020 at 11:54 AM ^
Different coach, same story. Can't get 5* guys to play here
April 14th, 2020 at 12:08 PM ^
It would help if Michigan gave up on the whole being a school thing & just went along with everybody else.*
*Note: I do not want that.

To be honest, this kid was always a long shot, until he actually appeared on campus. His mother has been pushing him to go pro, from the start. He needs a lot of work and seasoning. I really don't think this will end well for the kid, but best of luck anyway.
They were never Beilein's guys. But he knew how to win with the ones who fit.
No, but Beilein got notably burned by a few 5* types in his days. Kevin Looney, Jaylen Brown, whoever that guy who went to Cuse was, Mo Bamba, etc.

3 posts and you're the only one to correctly spell Isaiah!
April 14th, 2020 at 12:00 PM ^
I had no idea Isiah Thomas spelled his first name like that until a couple years ago...and I grew up during the original Bad Boy era. Maybe the other OPs were Piston fans.

What a disaster.
April 14th, 2020 at 11:57 AM ^
RCMB probably the happiest it has been since Blake dropped that punt.
April 14th, 2020 at 11:57 AM ^
I'll tell you, I'm pretty close to being done with following any recruiting going forward. It's pretty exhausting to be honest...
April 14th, 2020 at 11:58 AM ^
Do it man. Fuck this. Sports are supposed to be fun.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:45 PM ^
Sports haven’t been fun in years. Always the bridesmaid, endless blue balls.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:30 PM ^
It's quite liberating. Only problem is it pretty much leaves you with nothing to follow on Twitter since everyone will end up talking about it anyway.
But then you can stop following Twitter as well, so it is a win-win!
Twitter is a cesspool. You'll be better for it.

Highly recommend it. Lowered my stress levels for sure.
Get on the train brother...its a giant waste of time. I just look at the hello posts now for all recruit info "cool a commit lets read about him" thats it now. Cant remember what made me just say fuck it, but that was about 3 years ago....we are being played with by high school kids and we are letting it change the way we act. Yeah ...that should not be happening
April 14th, 2020 at 11:57 AM ^
This is not good. If Livers does go pro now, we will be lucky to be a bubble team.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:12 PM ^
What happens if both Wagner and Livers go pro?
1: Smith, Jackson
2: Brooks, Jackson, Nuñez (lol), Bajema
3: Williams, Nuñez (lol), Baird?
4: Johns, Williams, Howard
5: Davis, Dickinson, Faulds?

Good thing there won’t be a 2020-21 season to worry about with Covid.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:10 PM ^
You have to be a bot right?
That’s one way to put it.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:36 PM ^
Eet a Dee
April 14th, 2020 at 12:41 PM ^
That's the spirit, WD!
April 14th, 2020 at 11:58 AM ^
When the blue bloods weren't pursuing him it was obvious there were reasons for that. Risk/reward for recruiting him. Wonder if it cost Howard any other recruits he was planning on pursuing.
April 14th, 2020 at 11:58 AM ^
Amazing.
April 14th, 2020 at 11:58 AM ^
What’s the point of Castleton and DDJ leaving? Is Michigan really going to leave two scholarships spots open?
April 14th, 2020 at 12:04 PM ^
They did last season. Or, Jace gets one.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:15 PM ^
They didn’t get there by letting a starter and a guy who can contribute minutes off the bench walk, though.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:21 PM ^
That’s right, Juwan should have STOPPED them from transferring!
Oh, wait...
April 14th, 2020 at 12:56 PM ^
I think it’s clear the transfers happened because Juwan thought Michigan was going to need the space. Considering Michigan needed both transfers to happen for their numbers to work had Christopher and Todd came, I doubt Juwan fought for them to stay. Oops.

To me, this smells of JH being green, not playing his hand correctly and getting euchred. I'll wait to see if anyone digs into the backstory but my guess is he was counting on the two recruits who just left staying and was so convinced he had nothing back.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:39 PM ^
You mean, he took players at their word—their honor—and he’s green for that? How do you know he wasn’t still talking to them every day? Texting? Whatever was allowable? How do you know he hasn’t been working on getting back in on Greg Brown or other backups—like how he got Smith when it seemed weird for the schollie numbers?
This Todd recommitment only speaks to Todd’s character. He has every right to have done this, but the young man and his family—if they hadn’t told JH way earlier—are bad character people when it comes to honoring their word. If they told JH as soon as they knew or considered this move, then that is honorable.
Todd said his recent decision was a "no brainer". Rate that.
April 14th, 2020 at 12:55 PM ^
BS - if he wasn’t prepared, he wouldn’t have gone hard after Terrence Williams when he de-committed from Georgetown. We were already at the limit at that point, so he was getting guys knowing the roster would be fluid.
