OT: Pet Loss
MGoBun Leo (profile pic) has died at only 3 1/2. He got an internal blockage in his gut. He was fine one morning and was sick in the evening. I took him to the ER and they called the next morning to say he was stable. But a couple hours later they called back and said I should get there ASAP. He passed while I held him and whispered "I love you" into one of his big floppy ears. I am completely heartbroken and MGoBun Lily misses her boyfriend. My home feels empty without him and his big lovable personality.
Here is my boy falling asleep on Santa's lap last Christmas:
Cherish each day with your furry family members, because their time here is often way too short. Give your MGoPets a pet or three for me.

I have a 1.5-year-old Boston Terrier that I can't even imagine losing. Thinking of you MGoBun!
December 12th, 2019 at 10:57 PM ^
My 12 year old Boston (named Achilles) died May 2019. He was my first dog. That was the hardest thing I had ever gone through. It was hard to focus at work weeks leading to his death. I knew he was sick and that I could do nothing to help. Bostons are great. One day I will get another but want to get an English Bulldog after my current hound (named Denard) leaves me. He will be eight in January, so hopefully this big bastard will be around for a while.

Virtual hugs to you as you mourn the loss of a cherished furry family member.
December 12th, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
Very sorry to hear this.
I honestly think I've mourned some of my pets more than some of the people in my life.

When we became empty-nesters, this was manifest for me as well. I never cried for a pet loss until this last October when we had to put my favorite pet down. Just a huge sense of loss.

I think it’s messed up this value some humans place on animals ? I can’t even comprehend it. When I was a small child I cried for and afternoon that my dog died. That’s the extent of it. What posses you to spend money and time on an animal ?? They are disgusting and time consuming.
December 12th, 2019 at 4:47 PM ^
I guess you enjoy your life of purposely trying to piss people off. You must have never gotten love from your parents growing up. It's not too late man...
December 12th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
Didn't get love from his pets, either.
December 12th, 2019 at 4:48 PM ^
I think this was the wrong place to share this opinion
December 12th, 2019 at 4:49 PM ^
A friend is a friend. How each person is emotionally or psychologically attached to another living being is personal, specifically mammals which have attachment systems and behavioral traits similar to ours.
December 12th, 2019 at 4:50 PM ^
Why? Because animals > people. And you are a great example of that.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:01 PM ^
Pets can offer unconditional love, entertainment, and even purpose. I realize that will likely seem silly to you, but that's why you see the reaction to animals that you do.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
Not hard to predict which accounts have this take.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
is this mike vick's mgoblog burner account?
December 12th, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
What a fucking ass you are.
Why the hell would anyone ever spend time or money on you? Somehow I doubt anyone ever did, and that would probably explain a lot.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
Fuck off you douche-canoe
Pets (especially dogs) will treat you better than 99.9% of the humans you will ever come across.
I would value human life more than my pets life if humans were 1/2 as loving, trustworthy, selfless, and honest as my pet.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:25 PM ^
Aha! I understand why your account is 99 million in the hole.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^
"They are disgusting and time consuming."
A textbook example of projection.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:46 PM ^
You are disgusting and time consuming, evidenced by the fact that I am taking the time to type this response to shame you for your disgusting comment.
December 12th, 2019 at 5:54 PM ^
One of human’s greatest attributes is their ability to emotionally attach themselves to creatures other than themselves.
December 12th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
Even if you feel this way, what kind of person decides that this post is an appropriate and reasonable place to share this opinion?
December 12th, 2019 at 6:12 PM ^
If that's the way you actually feel about pets (animals in your words), I really feel sorry for you. Maybe your childhood trauma over your family dog's death is a reason to seek counseling on it. Just an idea.
December 12th, 2019 at 6:28 PM ^
You're a total jackass. Like why feel the need to comment? It would be like if you told me your mom died and I replied "who the cares, I didn't know the bitch".
December 12th, 2019 at 6:37 PM ^
It would not be like that at All. Any human in the world I have compassion for. Anytime someone posts about a death on here it hurts me. I often cry during the veteran of the game at the big house. But I truly can’t comprehend why people love animals so much.
December 12th, 2019 at 8:01 PM ^
I think you're a liar. I know you are a disgusting piece of shit human. Forget your shit take, any person that would offer that on this thread has zero compassion for anything. You don't cry at veteran ceremonies. You don't feel bad for people.
You're just a POS liar.
December 12th, 2019 at 11:13 PM ^
No one believes he cries for people he didn’t know. That veteran comment is such bull shit. Gucci was just trying to save face but it is too late for that.
December 12th, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
Dude.
Have your opinions. That's fine... JUST NOT IN THIS THREAD.
It's completely insensitive at best.
and then DON'T DOUBLE DOWN on being disrespectful trying to explain it again.
December 12th, 2019 at 6:35 PM ^
I strongly suspect you don't even truly feel this way--you just know that it's a way to get a reaction from people. As it is, you're a pretty sad person with poor writing skills.
December 12th, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
No offense but I like dogs more than most people I know.
I once heard something that has pretty much held up my entire life and that was you can judge somebody by how they treat animals.
I think this theory is undefeated in my life.
December 12th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
It’s funny cus I was always told a story of how even evil people love animals. Hitler is an obvious example with his prized dogs he treated like family.
Also, I will say even though I honestly don’t understand how humans love animals to the point of mourning their death....it was wrong of me to actively seek confrontation by posting that.
December 12th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
You must not know many humans.
December 12th, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
Get a dog as an adult. Post here in a year with your updated opinion.
December 12th, 2019 at 8:04 PM ^
I sincerely hope he doesn't get a dog. He would treat it like dirt and would never live up to the love it would show him.
December 12th, 2019 at 8:19 PM ^
Correct.
A better first step would be to volunteer a small amount of time at an animal shelter.
Also, read the Rainbow Bridge.
December 12th, 2019 at 11:01 PM ^
I grew up in a farm. Tons of different animals. I took care of them too. But it was work, not enjoyable. I have a long developed opinion of animals, and I love them.....in the wild and at a distance. No use for pets. Don’t have the time or money tbh.

Delete me why ? I been posting here 7 years. Contributed to the blog, and plenty of people here like me. Get over yourself. I apologized for being rude already. Still think pets are weak. Is what it is.
December 12th, 2019 at 11:46 PM ^
Plenty of people like me.
No. "Plenty" does not mean what you think it means.
December 13th, 2019 at 2:27 AM ^
Plenty to me lol. And this um in Sydney guy is weird. He says I made up that I cry at veteran honoring ceremonies. Like do I seem like the type of person to make stuff up so people like me ? It’s the truth, take it for whatever you want. I deeply care about people. Especially senior citizens as the most important people in my life were all old. WW2 veterans are amazing heroes and I get emotional seeing them honored at the big house.
And I’ll also add that pets outside don’t bother me. But pets in the house offend me. It’s a house not a barn. You walk around with shoes on as well ??
lol yeah I’m an ass hole. I’m also deeply caring and helpful of others. Not everything is black and white. I can be a dick and still be a good person.
December 12th, 2019 at 11:22 PM ^
I know some people, especially seniors, who are so lonely that a pet becomes their best friend. So I can see how losing your favorite pet can leave you heart broken.

MGoPoints check out.
December 13th, 2019 at 10:45 AM ^
Some things are better left unsaid.
December 13th, 2019 at 9:03 PM ^
Animals ARE disgusting and time-consuming. So are human babies. But dogs and kids have made my life better, richer and more worth living. I can't imagine it without my kids, grandkids and pets. I'll deal with the mess, and as for money-- you can't take it with you.
December 14th, 2019 at 3:25 AM ^
That's just wrong. You should feel bad, but I doubt you have the capacity
December 12th, 2019 at 4:47 PM ^
Lost my dog recently. It's the worst.
December 12th, 2019 at 7:37 PM ^
Me too. Actually now that I think of it, it was over 8mos ago now. Damn. I still think about him every day. My 1st dog. Miss you Major.
December 12th, 2019 at 8:59 PM ^
Same here. We had to put our dog down about three weeks ago. Our other dog has been going crazy ever since and I don't blame her.
December 12th, 2019 at 4:54 PM ^
Damn, so sorry to hear. My family and I went through the loss of our bulldog a 1 year ago. It’s truly is a tough thing.
