Isaiah Todd Signing Early?
Not sure if this has been discussed or not. Not super familiar with the early signing period. Is today the only day when recruits can sign early? Will Isaiah sign? I've seen conflicting reports as to whether or not he was planning on signing or not.

Wondering the same.

Michigan plans on him signing this week during the early signing period.

Michigan recruit Isaiah Todd to wait until spring
Isaiah Todd is the highest ranked (No. 8 in the Chosen 25) committed recruit who does not plan to sign during the early period. Todd, a forward at Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, North Carolina), said he "can't wait" to play at Michigan next season, but isn't ready to sign.
November 13th, 2019 at 7:48 PM ^
Not a good sign to me
November 13th, 2019 at 9:20 PM ^
I mean if he's going overseas, it doesn't matter whether he signs the LOI or not. I never thought he would sign in the early period anyway just given his recruitment.
November 13th, 2019 at 9:47 PM ^
Why commit in the first place? Joshua Cristopher isnt signing until the spring so hes not committing to a school right now. All this does is hamstring Michigan with another power forward because of playing time and also guards who are wanting to see who they'll be playing alongside.
November 13th, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
It would be a good sign if he signs.
November 13th, 2019 at 9:39 PM ^
It’s not a good sign... at all
November 13th, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Can't wait to play at Michigan but can't sign yet. Okay
November 13th, 2019 at 9:46 PM ^
Yep. He is gone. Yikes.
November 13th, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
Why not just let kids sign when they want to sign up until the deadline?
November 13th, 2019 at 5:23 PM ^
Every sport besides D-1 football and basketball switched over to that system. I have no idea why those two didn't, but there must be a good buck to be made with it.
November 13th, 2019 at 5:44 PM ^
I’ve been wondering this also. Why limit the kids as to when they can sign? The utility isn’t obvious to me. Is there a reason to do this? (I always suspect green motivations when we talk about the NCAA)
November 13th, 2019 at 5:47 PM ^
I'm sure it deals with firm handshakes.
November 13th, 2019 at 5:07 PM ^
Zeb signed today which is good news
November 13th, 2019 at 5:33 PM ^
I've been trying to dig up a tweet from years ago right after Zeb announced his commitment where some OSU douche wrote it was just a matter of time before they flipped him back to Ohio. Trey Burke pt 2 is incoming
November 13th, 2019 at 6:39 PM ^
If Zeb is as good as Trey was at U of M, we will win a national championship every year he’s at this school. Raback it.
That said, the block was clean and Pitinos team wasn’t. Fuck the NCAA and Go Blue!
November 13th, 2019 at 10:06 PM ^
Whether it means anything or not, the signing-day post has a photo of him looking much more mature than in Brian's Hello post from back in October '18, where Brian commented on his growth spurt and questions of him possibly rising in the rankings...
November 14th, 2019 at 10:50 AM ^
The most interesting part of that news release is the mention that the team will lose Austin Davis after this year, even though he has a year of eligibility left. Something we all saw coming, but I thought it was interesting that the school confirms it in this manner.
November 13th, 2019 at 5:12 PM ^
I'm curious on both Todd and Dickinson. Those are both good interior pieces for next year.

What is the best recruiting site, paid or free, for hoops recruiting?
November 13th, 2019 at 6:35 PM ^
Here imo
November 13th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
Between 247, this blog, and Endless Motor Sports, you really shouldn’t need anything further for bball recruiting
November 13th, 2019 at 6:49 PM ^
Don't forget UMHoops
November 13th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
Logged in to add the same. UMHoops does really nice cut-ups of film from camps and such. I don't pay attention to recruits that UM isn't pursuing, so I get all my info from UMHoops or here (esp. now that Matt D. / Endless Motor is providing updates on the main page).
November 13th, 2019 at 6:54 PM ^
Not sure about EM, but you have to pay for UMHoops coverage, correct?
November 13th, 2019 at 5:20 PM ^
He has until the 21st to sign early.
November 13th, 2019 at 6:23 PM ^
Dickinson got another ball for Michigan today.
November 13th, 2019 at 8:46 PM ^
So I guess this is what you are looking for...here's hoping Isaiah likes what he sees out of the team through the spring!
From @JayJayUSATODAY, Isaiah Todd not planning to sign a letter of intent in the early period. https://t.co/cQTStEQIsw

Anyone know why Michigan didnt kick the tires on Isaiah Jackson? Hes from Michigan.
November 13th, 2019 at 11:35 PM ^
Dirty as hell recruitment. His handlers were asking for donations.
November 13th, 2019 at 10:19 PM ^
Pretty sure this happened last year with MSU and Rocket Watts and he signed in the Spring. This is nothing to get worried about.
November 14th, 2019 at 12:11 AM ^
Ok but Rocket Watts was never a threat to skip college and play overseas like Todd is
November 14th, 2019 at 4:31 AM ^
Yeah. I’d say Todd is 50-50 to ever play at Michigan.
November 14th, 2019 at 7:00 AM ^
If he's going overseas then it probably doesn't matter if he's signed an LOI. Signing would just make it difficult for him to go to a different college. If he's going to play professionally, he could do whatever he wants here before leaving.
November 14th, 2019 at 9:19 AM ^
This is flat out wrong
November 13th, 2019 at 11:33 PM ^
If you are a five star guy, and everyone in the country wants you, why would you sign early? Your good enough that someone will make room for you whenever, and it gives you the flexibility to sit back and wait to see what happens during the season and the rest of recruiting.
November 14th, 2019 at 1:26 AM ^
Why do most of our highly ranked recruits, football or basketball, play with our minds? Will Campbell, Dax, Isaiah Todd. Michigan is a GREAT place! Just sign on the dotted line FFS!
November 14th, 2019 at 8:05 AM ^
17-18 yr old kids who are told how great they are day in and day out are not going to be a model of maturity. Many of us would be the same way at that age. Not likely the young man ever plays at Michigan if you read between lines. That's OK. Let's focus on those who are committed and those who are already here.
November 14th, 2019 at 9:04 AM ^
I would like to know whether you have any basis for concluding that he is not likely to play at Michigan. That could be true and you may have some reasons but if your statement is made just because he is not signing early or because he could decide to play overseas, then it's a bad take.
November 14th, 2019 at 11:12 AM ^
At this point, he is not solid in his commitment as evidence he is not signing a LOI. That is not a good trend. Does not mean he won't sign, but it certainly is not trending positive. I will be pleasantly surprised if he ends up at Michigan. When he committed, there was rumblings he might turn pro and go overseas. When I read that, I thought this commitment might be a little shaky. That's OK.
November 14th, 2019 at 11:31 AM ^
But I don't think he ever intended to sign early or at least it was an open question. He always said he was going to watch the season unfold a bit.
In summary, it's not trending negatively, it's holding steady and yes, not a sure thing.
November 14th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Something tells me you also ask yourself "Why do all refs hate Michigan?" and "Why do Michigan's rivals have so much more luck?"
November 14th, 2019 at 9:18 AM ^
This one is trending.....not positively
November 14th, 2019 at 9:46 AM ^
It's a smart business decision—he's testing his value on the open market and is waiting to see what sort of offers he'll be getting.
November 14th, 2019 at 11:08 AM ^
Not trying to be snarky, but does it really matter?
I guess I feel that either he's going to come or he's not going to come. I'm sure the coaches have a good idea of where things stand and him not signing would not come as a surprise to them. In doing so, while it may not be ideal if he decommits and goes elsewhere, the coaches may have to try to lure a grad transfer or two.
My guess is he's waiting to see how Howard does on the court. A recruiting pitch is built to make you want to go to a school, but the real confirmation comes from what you see on the court. etc.
November 14th, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
As long as Howard operates on the assumption that he is now not coming, we'll be fine. The only problem would be if he assumes Todd is coming and doesn't recruit another candidate because of it.
This makes it pretty clear that he is keeping things open for better offer$. So assume he's gone and move on.
Sorry, I think there was a typo up there somewhere.
