None of this is real. It's all a computer simulation. Each of us has committed a heinous crime and been sentenced to an eternity of torture, and part of our punishment is to have no idea why we are here.
This is our eternal reality now. Accept it.
There is no afternoon game thread because none of this is real.

Welcome to the Matr—-err BPONE

Seeing as my own personal hell would be exactly how we've lost to MSU and OSU the last 4 years, I can't argue against this.
You win, and now I'm sadder.
I'm changing this to a drinking thread. Bourbon cocktail.
October 5th, 2019 at 5:25 PM ^
Knew I shoulda taken the blue pill.
Fuck.
Thought blue was peppermint and the red was cinnamon.

Everyone's too busy getting hammered and staring at the floor with a Maize dazed gaze.
October 5th, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
Because people are pissed about the loss to iowa
October 5th, 2019 at 5:43 PM ^
I feel sorry for you. The internet, and apparently this particular blog, is where you have to come try and be a big man.
I hope you un-lose your job, or your partner, or your dog. Whatever it is that'll improve your confidence and self-worth. Being a troll just makes you an ass.

I actually wish I could unwatch some of the football I've already seen.
October 5th, 2019 at 5:31 PM ^
I wat hed some of the Illinois/Minnesota game (because I didnt watch enough shitty football today).
Brandon Peters scrambled, and when he got tackled his head/shoulder drove into the turf. He left the field very wobbly. They said he wont be back (undisclosed injury), but it looked like another possible concussion to me.
October 5th, 2019 at 5:34 PM ^
Poor kid. Hope he's alright.
October 5th, 2019 at 5:39 PM ^
Virginia tech up 28-7 on Miami WOW

Some people's unhappiness runs so deep that if Michigan is the source of it they need to find another hobby, and if Michigan is just another outlet for their personal depressive tendencies they probably should try not to ruin it for everyone else, too.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:04 PM ^
I can't tell if Texas is any good. WVU is hanging with them just fine. Rivalry and all, but it just feels like OU is going to pants Texas.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:46 PM ^
I agree but felt the same last year too. Texas isn’t quite “back” as Ehlinger claimed but they have showed up in the big games under Herman & I suspect they will again against Oklahoma.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:58 PM ^
Texas is very much a big 12 school this year. Great quarterback, worst pass defense in college.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:06 PM ^
A lot of speed and athletiscm on the field in the Auburn-Florida game but two teams that are really rough around the edges.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:16 PM ^
Minnie is a quarter from 5-0 with Nebraska, Rutgers and Maryland the next 3 games. They could start 8-0 before their final 4 gauntlet.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:21 PM ^
Every year it feels like there's a West team that draws a dream schedule out of a hat. No OSU, no Michigan, but Maryland & Rutgers. If you don't win 8 games in those years you may as well pack it in.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:21 PM ^
Auburn's last play is exactly what we should be doing more. Go routes down the sideline. Shea just needs to confirm single coverage then let fly. Nix didn't hesitate, didn't 10 seconds in the pocket. Play-action, one step, air it out.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:22 PM ^
Is P.J. Fleck legitimately turning Minnesota around, or will they come crashing back to Earth soon?
October 5th, 2019 at 6:25 PM ^
They're beating 'who they should' but they're last 4 games are Penn St, Iowa, NW, Wisc. They could start 8-0, finish 8-4. I think they still have some years of recruiting before they compete in the West, but they're on the verge of legitimately competitive at the moment (despite not playing anyone yet).
October 5th, 2019 at 6:29 PM ^
I think in P.J. Fleck's mind this might be the year to win 10 games with a schedule that makes this very possible even for an average team.
He then only has to hope that no big name program looking for a replacement in November notices that they have just barely scraped past some pretty questionable opposition...and instead just views him as the hot shot coaching star on the rise.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:33 PM ^
What job does he go to next? Has to be maroon-ish and gold-ish so he doesn't have to change his closet, just like the last 2 jobs. USC?
October 5th, 2019 at 6:28 PM ^
Some of the afternoon games are getting good in the 4th quarter. NW - NU is 10-10. Texas - WVU is 21-17. Fla-Aub 17-13.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
Florida just iced Auburn.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:49 PM ^
And WVU handed Texas 14 easy points.
If Miami can score quickly, that's a one-possession game.
NW-NU still tied at 10.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
Michigan should have hired Dan Mullen back in 2011.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
I am a fan of those garters the Florida cheerleaders are wearing.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
Ugh. If the Fla-Ga loser has one loss, and the winner loses to Bama, the SEC will get 2 teams into the playoff. Same thing could happen on the other side with Bama and LSU.
Ugh.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:54 PM ^
There has been a McCaffery sighting!
....Luke at Nebraska.
October 5th, 2019 at 6:57 PM ^
Great play by Miami. Now a 6-pt game after they went for 2. 4:55 to play.
October 5th, 2019 at 7:01 PM ^
TD Miami. Unreal run. XP pending for the lead.
October 5th, 2019 at 7:03 PM ^
Missed XP. Tied at 35.
October 5th, 2019 at 7:06 PM ^
Jesus Christ that’s a type of hit that shatters a femur.
October 5th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
TD Hokies. This game looked like a boring blow-out and has been the most entertaining of the day so far.
October 5th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
Bad time for an INT for the NW QB. Could be ballgame.
October 5th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
His receiver was decked by a linebacker. Not on the Qb
October 5th, 2019 at 7:11 PM ^
Northwestern got really screwed. Receiver decked and Nebraska gets the pick as the ball sailed to the safety with no receiver there. Nebraska just got a gift win
October 5th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
Horrible no call on Nebraska. That linebacker hit the receiver big time before the ball gets there and leads to an interception
October 5th, 2019 at 7:24 PM ^
O'Neills crew blows another call.
