Prediction Thread
OK, that was really the worst I've ever felt during the Harbaugh era. Even worse, I was there in person. It was brutal and the Michigan fans I saw were all shell-shocked.
Now, let's do some predictions. I will track these and come back at the end of the season so we can see who was right and who wasn't.
1 - Will there be a major shake-up on offense, starting this week?
2 - Will there be a major shake-up on defense?
3 - What will Michigan's final record be? (exclude any postseason, not that postseason is seeming likely at this point)
4 - What will the score of the OSU game be?
I'll share my predictions further down the thread, that is, if it doesn't get deleted.

Only results that will make me happy is when the school, AD, students, Alumni, and board start holding Harbaugh accountable for this mess.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:14 AM ^
The AD is to busy cleaning up after me to clean up after the football team
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:17 AM ^
Lame.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:24 AM ^
Imagine being such a loser that you spend your free time creating email accounts so you can make yet another username on a message board that you've been banned from 10+ times.
(Except you don't need to imagine it because you're living it.)
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:31 AM ^
Lol. Well said!
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:15 AM ^
So what you’re saying is we are not back?
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:18 AM ^
As was actually just looking to change my screen name, couldn’t find it on mobile. Because this football team is not back, i was on the Harbaugh train, I hopped off.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:32 AM ^
I’m going to wait till it slows down just a bit more before I hop off. It doesn’t look good but it’s early and there’s still a chance to turn it around.
1- no
2- no
3- 10-2 (yeah, I believe in BPOPE)
4- 48-24 OSU.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:44 AM ^
I’ve been all in for every coach until they gave me reason not to anymore, I’m at that point with Harbaugh. For context it isn’t just yesterday. I have about 30 things I could name off but at this time it’s like what’s the point anymore? He needs to go
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:10 AM ^
While I’d love to see a big change, I just think based on the past we won’t see a change until after the season.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:12 AM ^
No
no
7-6
45-12, buckeyes. Day’s team takes a knee in second half.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:13 AM ^
Wow. I was about to respond to this, and then I realized.... I don’t even care. Is this being Michigan-free like Lions-free? It might be. It doesn’t feel all bad.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:34 AM ^
Sounds like Brady Hoke, year 4 in 2014. A P A T H Y...we all had it then.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:14 AM ^
Sorry you had to be there and waste all that time and money to witness that steaming pile of crap.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:58 AM ^
Thank you for your condolences. I only wish I could get my money back.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:24 PM ^
You should send Harbaugh a letter asking him to pay you back.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:16 AM ^
Even if they change anything, it won't matter. All of the players pretty much suck because they have astoundingly bad coaching and no one seems to care at all anymore.
Maybe 6-6. That's the high estimate
42-21. They'll show some life in the first half, but will eventually quit like they always do.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:16 AM ^
Things look very bad now. In some regards the worse the better. Wipe the slate clean and start over! This is clearly failing. There are some good coaches out there like Matt Campbell and the new guy at Kansas State.
I say they finish 6-6 and play yet another uninspiring bowl game 6-7.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:20 AM ^
Kellen Moore?
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:16 AM ^
- No - but time to play those freshman slots - this offense doesn't fit our personnel
- No - it is what is and man did we look under-sized on DL or what ?
- 7-5
- Do I have to answer this? 42-14 ... the bad guys
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:17 AM ^
1. No.
2. No.
3. It will add up to 13.
4. 0-0 at the start.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:19 AM ^
Losses rest of way:
PSU
MSU
OSU
Crappy Bowl game where the entire month leading up to said bowl game speculation of early declarations of draft eligible players (see WR) not playing in bowl game abound.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:26 AM ^
So we beat ND? Ha. If you were an NFL caliber WR on this team going up for arm punts a couple of times a game or diving across the field for another shitty pass and had to decide whether to play in the Cheez It Bowl or not, it’s not going to be a difficult decision.
September 22nd, 2019 at 1:05 PM ^
Switch out MSU for ND. We’ll win ugly against state at home.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:29 AM ^
You think we come out that inspired to beat ND?
My my main concern right now is for the health of our QBs. State may just do to them what they did to Devin Gardner.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:43 AM ^
Mea Culpa
I forgot about ND - I also will predict ND cleans Michigan's 1980's clock.
Sorry. Thank you for the reminders!
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:36 AM ^
I can envision Michigan playing EMU in a December bowl game this year.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:19 AM ^
1 No
2 No
3 9-4
4 24-20
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:50 AM ^
Not sure which way you are predicting question 4 but there is no way in hell the defense we saw yesterday only holds OSU to 24 or 20 points. Hell, I'd be shocked if we keep them under 40.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:21 AM ^
3) Looking at the schedule, anything between 4-8 and 6-6. People like to rip on Rutgers and Illinois, but at this point it wouldn’t surprise me if they presented a real challenge to this UM squad.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:22 AM ^
No
No
6-6
59-13
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:23 AM ^
Think we beat Rutgers, Iowa, Illinois, Maryland, MSU and Indiana. Maybe whatever mediocre bowl team we play.
Losses @PSU, ND, OSU. OSU game is going to be ugly unless something drastic changes. 49-21 or something like that.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:25 AM ^
Here is how I look at the schedule:
Almost guaranteed losses: OSU, ND
Likely losses: MSU, PSU, Iowa
Toss-Ups: MD, Indiana
Likely wins: Rutger, Illinois
When you have an inept DL, you won’t win many games. This team looks like maybe 7-5 at best. If we beat Iowa I would consider revising this to 8-4.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:28 AM ^
Sounds about right. I guess I just see MD and IU as leans toward a loss.
September 22nd, 2019 at 8:00 PM ^
@PSU is much harder than ND at home, have you seen us on the road?!
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:27 AM ^
Doubt we’ll see much change. We’ve been hoping for a new look or something different from this offense since week 1.
How are we going to do the rest of the season? Lol, if we keep it up like this....losses to Iowa, Notre Dame, Penn State, OSU are probably guaranteed. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Indiana game is really close.
I doubt we’ll see a 2016 Penn State turnaround but lord I hope we do. In the event we don’t, OSU is going to flat out destroy us worse than Wisconsin just did. 55-17.
There needs to be an attitude change. Maybe Harbaugh should take a page out of the old Huskers book and toughen this team up.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:35 AM ^
Indiana game would be close regardless. Those guys play like Bama when they meet us no matter how good we are.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:52 AM ^
Yeah, that’s true. I was at the game last year and they looked inspired - at least in the first half.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:33 AM ^
1) No
2) No
3) 7-5, after yesterday I think MSU beats us. No way in hell we win in Happy Valley, and ND will be fighting for its playoff life against us. That game probably ends 41-21.
4) 45-41. This should be a blowout but the gods never let Michigan off that easy. The offense we expected to see all year will FINALLY show up and give OSU a game. Michigan gets a big stop on defense and gets the ball back with under 2 mins to go with a chance to win the game. Shea actually plays well for most of the day, and the WR trio reel in a few TDs as well. And then before you know it, on the first snap of the series, Michigan commits it’s only turnover of the day. Chase Young comes roaring off the edge, blindsides Shea, he understandably fumbles the ball, OSU recovers, game over. The ~50,000 OSU fans in the stands all start their OH-IO chants, never a doubt in their mind that Michigan would find a way to blow it yet again, as the Michigan contingent slowly start heading for the exits, ready for basketball season.
Book it, my friends. We will expect to get run off the field, the team gives glimmers of hope that this may finally be the year it breaks through and wins, and then the game ends in an all too familiar fashion.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:55 AM ^
The clarity in this post actually gave me visualization. I saw it.
i did not like what I saw.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:59 AM ^
The BPONE flows through your veins.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:07 PM ^
This is word for word exactly how I see things going, but I think we beat MSU and go 8-4. You saved me soooooooooooo much writing. Who do I send the check to?
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:33 AM ^
No changes until empty seats show up consistently at the stadium and Jumpman sales go down.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:08 PM ^
then there will be no changes (based on your criteria)
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:34 AM ^
1. I think they will go back to running the ball much more.
2. No, Don Brown now sucks.
3. 8-4, with 2 more blow out losses to either ND, PSU, and OSU.
4. 42-17 OSU
Mutually part with JH, go do what it takes to get Venables from Clemson. Take next year as a rebuilding year (8-4, 9-3) then tune up for 2021 when we have a very favorable schedule. No more “Michigan Men”, whatever the fuck that means.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:41 AM ^
Venables is going exactly Nowhere. Why would he? He’s getting paid 2 million a year to coordinate a championship squad. He’s gonna ride that gravy train as long as he can. Besides, how do you know he’d be a good head coach?
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:48 AM ^
Atleast try, give him every opportunity to say yes and if he still says no then okay. He’s passionate, loves college football, is prepared, recruits really well. Texas Tech peaked his interest last year. Just go all out for him and see what happens.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:13 PM ^
Dabo was never a head coach before Clemson, Stoops at OU, Riley at OU, Day at OSU,a Smart at Georgia. Stop with this "how do you know he'd be good?" nonsense.
September 22nd, 2019 at 11:36 AM ^
1. No. But there should be. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised tomorrow and see that Jim Harbaugh has let Josh Gattis go.
2. No. But there should be. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised tomorrow and see that Jim Harbaugh has let Shaun Nua go.
3.
4. Bad, Ryan Day will laugh.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:24 PM ^
I have a hard time seeing us score more than 10 points against MSU's defense
