Maybe?

Nice title. Even better post.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:04 PM ^
I see this going very badly for you, good sir.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:04 PM ^
Great title, I'm sure this will be received very well.

Chris Evans???
February 1st, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
You don't know?
February 1st, 2019 at 7:53 PM ^
I'm sorry for admitting this but I laughed at this GIF, I'll blame it on the pain meds.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:07 PM ^
If you don't know, I can't tell you.
*edit* This looks like it might be legit, which blows chunks if it's true. I've got some high hopes for Evans for next season!

EDIT NOTE: I checked with the original poster, got his source, and edited the original post to include where he got it. This post came down while I checked it out. FWIW I heard the rumor too but not from multiple sources or the usual channels.

Really hoping it is false. Seth, thank you for contacting me.

There has apparently been talk of this recently. Unfortunately, where there is smoke tends to mean there is fire.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:56 PM ^
I thought Michigan legalized that kind of "smoke."
February 1st, 2019 at 9:14 PM ^
Do you work for Buzzfeed?
February 1st, 2019 at 9:08 PM ^
Well-played, HLA. Well-played, indeed.

he gone
February 1st, 2019 at 5:25 PM ^
I don’t know if this is true but if it is have we ever had this many players leave the program over a 4 year stretch? I get the fact that harbaugh is the best we can get blah blah but this has to be a record number of transfers in 4 years. Does anyone think, dare I say it, this may have something to do with harbaugh. Even if it is a team violations thing that doesn’t bode well for the head coach no matter who it is. Oh and let the “we lost our top 2 rbs” excuse commence for 2019 when our QB struggles passing the ball.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
I think this is a little overblown, but you also have to look at transfers throughout college football to see whether this is the norm or not.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:55 PM ^
I haven’t looked at other programs so I don’t know. Just asking the question why so many transfers? RR had quite a bit but that was mostly his first season which is usually understandable.
February 1st, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
I don't think there's any way to address that question other than looking at each individual case. Sometimes people transfer because they can't get out of the doghouse or stay out of trouble. Sometimes people transfer to be closer to home. Sometimes people transfer because of the depth chart.
If you look at the 2016 class that Harbaugh brought in, Asiasi (homesick), McDoom (playing time?), Crawford (playing time?), Walker (uhh...JUCO), and Kingston Davis (uhh...JUCO) transferred. Dytarious Johnson didn't make it academically, Nate Johnson got in legal trouble, and Elysee Mbem-Bosse had some personal stuff going on.
February 1st, 2019 at 8:45 PM ^
Granted I know nothing of the violation or what's happening, but from all accounts Evans has been a model student athlete as evidence of his literal blue collar shirt he wears to symbolize his desire to work, his community involvement coaching youth football, and his track record to date of no prior violations. Plus, he's slated to be the #1 guy on the depth chart going into next season so it's unlikely he'd be transferring for playing time. So, something major must have happened, but it's odd for a guy who from all we've seen so far seems like a model student athlete and a good player.

Stop saying stupid shit
February 2nd, 2019 at 6:56 AM ^
I think he's been sampling the Rx's a little too much
February 2nd, 2019 at 1:19 PM ^
Feels like player transfers have really increased across all of college football.
Keep in mind though that Bo kicked a lot of players off the team for various violations, as a point of discipline only to have them earn their way back.
So best to let rumors play out.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
No, this has to do with grades. Nothing to do Harbaugh.
February 1st, 2019 at 6:46 PM ^
2007 Stanford Harbaugh disagrees with you.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:34 PM ^
Clutch those pearls a little harder. If he violated team or university rules how is that on harbaugh?
February 1st, 2019 at 5:52 PM ^
Urbz would be a friend and look the other way.
February 1st, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
Urban would participate in it, then cover it up.
February 1st, 2019 at 7:32 PM ^
Then lie. Then have TV guys fawn all over him while ignoring everything known. Then get a nice soft parachute & teach a class about not doing in life what he did because unless you're at a State U you can't get away with that mess.
February 3rd, 2019 at 8:47 AM ^
Urban is gone... can’t kick him anymore... just sub in Ryan Day.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:55 PM ^
...other than IMO it's a good thing JH enforces rules.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:50 PM ^
I don't know what happened, did not even click on the story to find out. If it's true we'll find out soon enough. As far as your statement "this doesn't bode well for the head coach" actually it does bode well. Whether it's for rules violations or voluntary seeking of playing time elsewhere, a certain amount of shuffling every year is expected and does "bode well" for a competitive program that does things the right way. This isn't PSU, MSU or OSU.
February 1st, 2019 at 8:48 PM ^
a certain amount of shuffling every year is expected and does "bode well" for a competitive program that does things the right way.
I'm beginning to think JH and our staff don't give enough preferential treatment to established players and the whole "competitive spirit" may turn off some of our better players who may feel they've already earned the right to their spot, and in some cases rightfully so.
February 2nd, 2019 at 1:38 PM ^
We aren't beating the best of teams because we don't yet have the BEST of talent
The only team we've played in the past since JH has been our coach that had more talent than us according to 247's team talent composite is FSU in the '16 Orange Bowl and OSU every year. However, we've outranked PSU, Wiscy, MSU, ND, Florida, and South Carolina 100% of the time, yet are only beating them about 30% of the time. It's not a talent issue according to recruiting rankings.
if it does happen to the top guys, yeah that will be a problem.
It happened to 5-star Aubry Solomon, 4-star James Hudson, high 4-star Drew Singleton, high 4-star Kareem Walker, 4-star Kekoa Crawford, and there are rumors about Tarik Black (who seems like our top WR). And those are just the 4 and 5 star guys from the last 2 years. That's a pretty significant chunk of the top half of our recruiting classes.
February 2nd, 2019 at 3:24 PM ^
"...we are only beating them 30% of the time."
Your math skills are very, very bad.
Against ND, Wisconsin, MSU, PSU, Florida, and SC, Harbaugh has a winning overall record while at Michigan.
Against just the B1G teams you mentioned, he is 7-4.
If you remove 2017, which was a disaster for O'Korn reasons, he is 7-1 against said B1G teams.
If you remove 2017, he is 8-2 against all teams you mentioned.
So, basically, shut up. You're not judging things objectively.
February 2nd, 2019 at 12:02 PM ^
Disagree. That’s how we get to where we were the last years of Carr... entitled guys who don’t work quite hard enough. Players who are scared for their jobs compete and play better.
February 2nd, 2019 at 1:31 PM ^
Meyer has a track record of getting great results from his best players and giving them preferential treatment.
February 1st, 2019 at 7:03 PM ^
So look at other top programs and look at their transfer rates. Look. The fact is, Michigan is over-signing. Recruit a ton of kids, push out the kids who don’t cut it. That’s how the top tier of college football works.
Many of the kids leaving are guys who never play. The rest seem to be guys stuck in rotational roles at best. Those are going to be the guys that get processed or at least see the writing on the wall in addition to normal transfers.
February 1st, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
While in general you’re right, that wouldn’t apply here. Evans is your leading returning rusher...highly doubt he’s being “processed” out.
February 3rd, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
Correct, Evans was not processed out. It does happen at all programs to some extent.
Chris Evans was caught cheating for the third time...off the team.
February 3rd, 2019 at 10:35 AM ^
Douchecanoe post.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
If true our RB situation becomes dire. Wilson will be the only back with significant experience. Turner will get significant snaps along with Charbonnet. Fortunately Charbonnet enrolled early. Hopefully Barrett and Haskins move back to RB.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:51 PM ^
Why would two OHio State QBs whose eligibility has expired or declared for the draft play RB for Michigan?
February 1st, 2019 at 7:58 PM ^
Because they came up short at OSU
February 2nd, 2019 at 10:06 AM ^
I would rather have talented inexperienced backs running behind an experienced OL than the opposite. We will be alright.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^
He's not an official reporter or anything, but Nate has some connections...
February 1st, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^
I don't know who Nate Lewis is, does this guy have any history of credibility? Anything's possible, but Evans would be about the last guy I'd expect to be getting in off field trouble.
February 1st, 2019 at 5:38 PM ^
My understanding he is sort of one of those Twitter super fans that has connections. So, not super official, but enough cred to take it seriously, and enough cred where he wouldn't stake his rep on a tweet like that
