Suggestions for new tailgating canopy?
Already looking towards next fall’s games and we need a new tailgating canopy tent. Ours is about shot. Thinking this would make a nice Christmas gift for our grandsons.
Anyone have any suggestions for one that’s halfway decent? I’ve looked at reviews for several on Amazon and they’re all over the place.
Thanks!

Best option is an Army Navy Store and purchase an old parachute, or lots of duct tape and garbage bags.

Wait until after football season when they are on clearance or on Craigslist.

That's only going to work if you are okay with buckeye colors.

We bought one from the brand Caravan. We got the aluma model from Amazon a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if that model still exists, it was their commercial grade, but it has been great. They were expensive ($500ish), but the yellow model was way cheaper ($120). It is more of the Adidas yellow than a true maize color. We've used it at multiple music festivals, tailgating, car camping, and to cover the smoker when it's raining. Really well made and you can buy sides for it if you want.

It depends what your budget is, but like anything, you get what you pay for. I've found a lot of the tent/canopies you see at home centers and places like Costco aren't very durable or well made. If you want a tent/canopy that will last for a long time, consider looking at ecanopy.com. We bought a tent there several years ago for the non-profit group we help run. It was about $400 with free shipping and came with side panels. It has heavier-duty legs and frame that will hold up in stronger winds and rain. But they have tents at different price points, so you can check it out.

Eurmax tents are great quality and they sell replacement parts. We have have a few 10x20 tents of theirs for tailgates and they are still like new and we tailgate every home game. They also have sidings that are very easy to put on. You can find them on amazon.
They have different levels of quality. We use the pro level.
We probably won’t buy another brand. A lot of people stopped by our tailgate to ask us about our tents and said they are getting one for them.

We always pick up shot canopies that are vacated and use as spare parts.

I bought a U of M Coleman canopy at Costco a couple of years ago and it has held up the best of the 4 that I have owned thus far.

The past two years Costco has sold a white canopy with four walls for $200. The material is thick and the frame appears to be be more durable than other cheaper canopy's I've owned. We put a patio heater inside and stay toasty warm.
If Costco has them again this year it will be in the spring when the summer displays are set up. That doesn't do you much good for Christmas but it's an option.

I used to buy a couple pop-up canopies for out scout troop every few years. Two things i learned, stick with the 10*10 the 12*12 are 44% bigger buy very weak and buy the no questions asked extended warranty from Dicks.
