Cool post.
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:40 PM ^
What ever happened to open tryouts?
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:41 PM ^
Paved road to the pros? Not lately.
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:45 PM ^
Well, Jake and Taylor both got record setting OT contracts, so we have that going for us.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:39 PM ^
Great, how long ago did they play here?
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:46 PM ^
Screw that... a couple of 5*'s would be nice, but I'll settle for a steady stream of 3/4*'s that develop into anything between serviceable and stud.
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:52 PM ^
In this day of loosey goosey grad transfer rules, can't we get a grad transfer from some serviceable lower-level P5 OT who knows a big fish in a small pond?
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:57 PM ^
If we could have closed the deal with Alaric Jackson and Mekhi Becton...
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:26 PM ^
Alaric Jackson was ours for the taking. He was waiting for a Michigan offer on signing day, but Harbaugh and his great ability to evaluate talent didn’t think he was worth an offer.
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:47 PM ^
Stupid post.
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:49 PM ^
Play right away . . .
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:44 PM ^
ha ha... I laughed at that myself
September 3rd, 2018 at 5:50 PM ^
We have three 5 star instate tackles that we did a terrible job recruiting.
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:31 PM ^
Spot on. So bad recruiting them that we didn’t even make it on their shorts list and were elimated early in the recruiting cycle. That is literally unheard of for Michigan and instate recruits. If you want to see where the problem is, look no further.

My son is RT, a junior in HS.
He's 6'2" and 210 now at 16. I expect at least 6'5" as I kept growing until 19.
Had a near-perfect game Friday!
He's a Michigan fan!
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:04 PM ^
Must be 6'6 or taller. Get him up there!
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:06 PM ^
Not only will he have to grow several inches, he'll also have to add at least 100 lbs. Does he have the frame for that?
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
Steak, milk and squats for the lad!
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:11 PM ^
Why don't these posts get deleted? I appreciate the passion for Michigan Football, but come on. A little reality here.....
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:34 PM ^
I am an alumnus - class of '76. Dad was class of '47, Mom class of '48. Daughters class of '10 and '14. Puzzled by what is accomplished through cheap criticism. Constructive criticism yes - but cheap shots? Why? I never played football. I have no idea how hard it really is - how much it hurts - what it is like to put in the time and effort - only to be chastised for a loss. I didn't see any player quit. I am certain that the players feel 10X worse than any fan. ND was a decent competitor and there is the possibility that these boys could win out and gain a rematch vs Irish. I believe in this team.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:53 PM ^
The criticism is not just because of Saturday night. It’s mainly because of the the litany of suck over the past decade. Saturday just exasperated it.
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:32 PM ^
So why did you post such drivel?
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:15 PM ^
The only problem with your pitch is our primary competition has one additional item to offer:
11) $$$$
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:51 PM ^
I’m sick of that bullshit excuse. You think Alabama auburn osu Georgia Oklahoma Clemson Stanford he’ll even Washington need money to convince a player not to come to Michigan? We suck right now and it’s our fault. Why would any recruit want to play for a team with a ceiling of 9-3. Elevate your game and the players will come
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:15 PM ^
They want no part of Ann Arbor
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:15 PM ^
Not sure HS OTs will help soon enough, but Trente Jones looks like the real deal for 2019 and hopefully Miles Hinton joins for 2020.
More urgently, Hudson/Mayfield/Stueber/Hayes need massive development. Training table, lifting, agility drills, technique drills and repetitions - unless they are sleeping or studying.
The talent and coaching exist, but unfortunately we will have to give it time.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
It’s been 10 years, so maybe waiting another 10 will get Michigan a godd OL
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:20 PM ^
Pathetic
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:23 PM ^
My son is almost 7. He's 4' 3" and about 95 lbs. Help is on the way in 2030!
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:43 PM ^
That’s freakishly large. His mother 6-2?
September 3rd, 2018 at 9:43 PM ^
That's the weird thing, she's petite and I'm only 5 10. If he didn't look exactly like me I'd take him for a DNA test.
Kid isn't fat either, just solid.
September 3rd, 2018 at 11:17 PM ^
Need MOAR Hatters
September 5th, 2018 at 7:01 PM ^
Have to assume this is a first.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:25 PM ^
Great, now we're all on a list.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:27 PM ^
This is a stupid post. Nobody wants to see you stupid attempts to get attention on this board.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:28 PM ^
Why did Wisconsin get 5 star OT Logan Brown instead of Michigan?
Devontae Dobbs is another 5 star OT who is chose Michigan State apparently.
Michigan will get theirs. I am not worried at all.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:43 PM ^
Kalis was a 5 star
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
Kalis was a decent guard, not perfect. I think he' still in the league.
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:18 PM ^
He got a lot of hate around here. Maybe the mental issues he at at Michigan we’re just bad coaching since as you say he’s in the NFL
September 3rd, 2018 at 11:21 PM ^
He was signed to the Browns' practice squad today.
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:48 PM ^
This post is pathetic and the blog has become depressing. Wake me up when at noon on Saturday
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:48 PM ^
I'm sure a lot of 5 star tackles read Mgoblog. This is gonna be great for recruiting. I'm betting that Harbaugh will thank you personally for posting this as it will get us some 5 star tackles...
September 3rd, 2018 at 6:58 PM ^
That education ain’t free.
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:11 PM ^
And as much as we'd love for them to come here, why would they?
Nothing this team has accomplished in the last 10 years would convince a top athlete to come to Ann Arbor. The last time we had a good team, most televisions were still square!
Too much mediocrity here and too much opportunity elsewhere. Harbaugh was the chosen one but he has failed. We have nowhere else to go now.
I wish it weren't so but it's time to stop wishing and hoping and just come to the realization that we are no longer relevant in college football.
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:30 PM ^
Suit yourself. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
September 3rd, 2018 at 7:28 PM ^
Could someone please delete this? It's just embarrassing.
September 3rd, 2018 at 8:27 PM ^
We really need you badly
September 3rd, 2018 at 8:54 PM ^
Come for the subpar position coaching; stay for the 8-5 records!
September 3rd, 2018 at 9:17 PM ^
Nah, I'll be honest if I was a H.S. recruit and reading this forum, I'd probably think twice about going to play for Michigan. I mean one game in and the fanbase has a nervous breakdown..
September 3rd, 2018 at 9:29 PM ^
One game plus 10 years.
Oh, you were just talking about the awful football being played THIS year?
Then yes, one game.
